Preview Movie – The Hall of Fame

As mentioned in our earlier Christmas message, we’ve got a couple of new content releases coming in the next week or so, with the addition of the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame and the full implementation of the Rate My Team tool.

The first of these can be previewed in the movie below, in which I’m joined by Chris Atkinson, the creator of Rate My Team statistical model and the algorithm behind the Hall of Fame.

What is the Hall of Fame?
In simple terms, this is as ranking system which can be applied to everyone in our Fantasy Premier Leauge mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. The Hall of Fame tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a ranking according to the performances. We have a career table that updates every season and a live table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every Gameweek.

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2011/12 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League (40184-13425), or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area.=

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings.

The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data. This version will only be available to our members in the Members Area. If you wish to get access to the live version, you can sign up as a member – our half season membership and membership rates are due to go live on January 1.

When will the Hall of Fame be available?
All being well, we are rolling out the Hall of Fame, together with the full implementation of Rate My Team, for January 1.

WHEN they change it, we should know the line ups & then we can adjust our teams to suit.

Merry christmas all!

After getting 71 points last week, I now find myself in the position of having 3 players with no games on boxing day (Cazorla, Gibbs and C.Cole) I have been racking my brain for the past few days over which transfers I should make. Atm I’m struggling to field 11. I just can’t make a decision! My team is:

Mignolet/Federici
Nelsen, Cameron, Shorey (Gibbs, Wisdom)
Sterling, Mata, Silva, Snodgrass (Cazorla)
RVP, Suarez (C.Cole)

My current thinking is:
A: Gibbs + Sterling —> Zabaleta + Puncheon (-4)
B: Cazorla + Sterling + C.Cole —> Michu + Puncheon + Berba (-8)
C:Cazorla —> Bale
D: Any other suggestions?

  Hello, i would definitely avoid paying 8 points, and i'd even avoid A because Gibbs' games get better later and i think that at best, your 2 subs would just make back your 4 points spent so its a little too risky for me if your not bringing in 2 mids or a mid and a striker. Since i like Arsenal's upcoming games, id say keep cazorla and sub out carlton cole. I dont know how much money you have in the bank but the top options that are below 6.5 million for me are Long/Lukaku (both are good points potential but its a bit of a gamble to know who's going to play), or maybe a bit of a punt on anichebe (4.3 million). If you could make 2 subs then i'd say Sterling and Cole out for Berba and Puncheon might not be so bad but i'm not sure if you could afford it. Hope i helped and didnt confuse u even more

really like this idea and it is certainly quite tempting purely as a vanity feature. would be interesting if a persons rank could be linked to your username or something like that, or maybe just the number.

one issue that does put me off it is that obviously your rank is skewed if you have had a dead season in the past. eg my 0809 season i made my account then didnt play again, 1.4 mil rank. are there any plans to address this issue? maybe take high scoring anomalies out of the calculation or drastically minimalize them in the formula?

  Generally people with consistently good ranks will love it, those with a dodgy year or two won’t. Simple as that. The people who have consistently high rankings are obviously top players. Those with a bad year or two are not necessarily bad so I’m not really sure of the point of it all…

      I like Swansea because they look comfortable playing against anyone, they keep the ball for long spells which means they are less likely to concede heavily and Vorm is back which is a big plus. For that price he is definitely a good option.
      
      Yeah Nelsen is another cheap player worth having. Just comes down to personal choice once you narrow down the few worth having.
