Boxing Day Dugout Discussion

Filed under: Dugout Discussion - Posted by: Mark

A busy Boxing day programme serves up nine Premier League matches, with only the Gunners and West Ham missing the party. With seven three o’clock kick-offs and two evening matches, we’ve feast in front of us and a constant stream of Fantasy points right throughout the day. Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to be your soundboard as you surf the wave of emotions approaching.

The team news from the three o’clock kick-offs is dominated by the news that it’s Wayne Rooney who makes way from the United lineup to face Newcastle, with Robin Van Persie, trusted with the armband by many, starting along with Javier Hernandez. Sky Sports have reported that Rooney, along with Ashley Young who is also absent today, picked up knocks in training.

Elsewhere, Roberto Mancini defies his statement that it’s “impossible” to start with the same strikers for two matches in the space of three days by starting with the same strikers for two matches in the space of three days (so bitter – ed) – it’s Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez up front at Sunderland, then. John O’Shea misses out for the home side, Ryan Nelsen is absent for QPR through illness, Bryan Ruiz is fit enough to return to the bench for Fulham, Grant Holt returns for Norwich, David Luiz looks to be in midfield again for Chelsea as Rafa Benitez rests Eden Hazard. It’s breathless stuff and there hasn’t been a ball kicked in anger yet.

      1. Check our Serie-A H2H.....It's just come to my knowledge that the tiebreaker is h2h, and not gd. So I still might be relegated unless I win the match against you.

I think it boils down to
Me- Enrique + Bps for (Berba, RVP) vs Megatron- 3pts + Bps for Mata

        Have I got it correct?

        • 2 years, 1 month ago

  17. The team I plan to take into the DGW (no WC) - Opinions?

    Jaask (DGW)
Sagna (DGW) - Gallas - GJ
Walcott (DGW) - Nolan (DGW) - Bale - Michu
    RVP - Suarez - Berba

No hits needed to get to this team and a WC avaliable afterwards...
    What do you think?

    • 2 years, 1 month ago
    1. Santi 4 Bale

      • 2 years, 1 month ago
  18. Walcott or Berb (C)

    • 2 years, 1 month ago
  19. Team for next week.
    Begovic
    Cameron - Clark - Nastasic
    Bale - Silva - Michu - Sidwell
    Ba - Rooney - RVP (C)
Subs: Foster - Enrique - Cuellar - Puncheon
Is my first team right? I know I have to take Rooney out, but for who? Torres? Also, how serious was Michu's injury. Cheers for any advice lads.

    • 2 years, 1 month ago
  25. Granville..

It is a lie that I was boasting at half time that I had Clark coming off my bench. My only reference to him was that he was racking up the blocks which he was...
I'm not sure what your motive was as I haven't made a single post gloating about Bale(c) either...

“Last year was quite open for me, I was in good positions, but I was quite lucky because I was getting free kicks and some penalties as well.”
