Back for 2013, fully refreshed, slightly rusty and balancing the same chips on our shoulders, Granville are I make a return to the podcast studio.

The New Year presents my beleaguered co-host with a 51-point gap to bridge as I spent Christmas “ho-ho-ing” about three midfield hat-tricks, leaving Granville to roll out one mighty miffed in this week’s episode.

Elsewhere, we pick at the double Gameweek buffet, eagerly scoffing on the Chelsea canapés whilst wondering if Rafa has hidden something nasty in the vol-a-vents. We rinse that down with the latest transfers in and out in “all aboard”, preview all the weekend fixtures and carry out the latest emergency surgery on the ailing ScoutCast team.

          Interesting. I've had it set on Mata for a while, but after watching the Swansea game the other night I thought he looked knackered, whereas Ba looked fresh and up for it, imo.

    I was expecting to do Silva > Mata and possibly Sterling > Puncheon this week but I'm really struggling with defenders this week and don't want to WC until next. Any help or suggestions welcomed to help me out

      My defence is shot to pieces, but I'm going to weather it and hold out for the wildcard gw24. Got other priorities and O'Brien and Cuellar both short term injuries.

      That said, I would be strongly tempted to do something about Enrique. Maybe downgrade him and upgrade Sterling to Fellaini.

      Just realised "Sterling Silva" would be a good team name...

        well due to cech being back i had to take out turnbull. cant go without chelsea defensive cover so gone for luiz.

        only way to get in baines was to downgrade lambert.

          I hope your Baines love isn't misplaced! Fixtures look good, but they haven't been keeping many clean sheets. I'm sticking with Lambert and hoping Davies does a job at the back.

            fuml - baines is a 4 week punt. lambert would only be suitable for one week then rot on my bench. also this week lambert would mean one of my big hitting mids would be benched.

            just makes more sense to me to improve my first 11 then bench.

      I prefer that to the previous one, no its no too unbalanced with the five across the middle somewhere has got to give. Play Harte instead of Gibbs.

        cheers dago. i kinda thought i dont money wasted on the bench every week along with dilemmas about who to bench.

        lambert would be nice this week but then rot on my bench most weeks at 6.2m.

        my defence is too strong at the moment but i aint planning on keeping them for long. davies will be coming in for one of them after the dgwks and upgrading BA to suarez

              yer I will be glad when its over to be honest, Im moving next week so wanted to get it over and done with as I wont be on much rest of the month. Im happy with the team, just deciding who to Captain, head says Mata but Im really tempted by Ba.

                mata is the safe option. Ba is risky but could pay off. since your sitting pretty on top of your ML i would opt for mata. more likely to play most the dgwk.

                essentially captaining BA would be most likely 90mins vs a tight stoke defence and 20mins against soton

    What's your planned move for next week?
    Seems that very few are able/willing to double on walcott / santi + prob wise not to double on defence either.
    I think I'm going with only demel, gibbs and walcott. If Ba is dissapointment this week maybe him to podolski or tevez.

      Was thinking about doing Hazard > Cazorla (already have Gibbs & Walcott) next week and then Cazorla > Fellaini after.

      But with Fellaini playing Southampton I may just go straight to him instead, still undecided but think saving a transfer and with Fellaini having a nice fixture that's probably the best option.

        I'd like to have santi for 23, but only real way for that is go with power 5 now and next week bale => santi and then gw24 back to bale. Takes two transfers so bit pointless. Unless caz gets hat trick 🙂
