The Big Numbers – Gameweek 23

Joe Cole tops our ICT Index for the Gameweek so far, following his equalising goal and eye-catching display in the Hammers’ draw with QPR. With David Silva ranked second and West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie nestled in third, the weekend has seen a number of differentials put in strong statistical shifts.

Our members can, of course, get the full data behind the Index scores via our members area but, as always on a Sunday evening, we’ve compiled our guide to the figures that have turned our heads thus far in Gameweek 23…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What are your thoughts on these players fantasy wise?

    a) Aguero

I would personally prefer to leave him out for now. Instead, i can get Silva in for the likes of Walcott or Bale if i feel like it.

    b) Pogrebnyak?

I like him as a third benchable striker. Allows to strenghen other areas of the team. He has played in a fair feew games and will get the odd goal- especially as Reading are fighting to stay in the Premier League.

I am ranked 120k so you some of guys will undoubtedly have better opinions than myself.

a - mancini rotation drives me nuts. am looking at yaya or silva rather than a striker.
      b - if you have a super strong mid (5 of the following 7 - mata/fellaini/walcott/michu/bale/silva/gerard)
      then yes.

      a) I'm not convinced of the value yet. Everyone is talking him up, but I want to see him (and them) scoring consistently first.

      b) Have just brought him in for Ruiz, as my 8th attacker. The manager seems to like starting him and he can get on the end of one. Allows me a couple of little upgrades in defence, and to put away a little coin for later.

he has just returned from injury..i would expect mancini to play him regularly now, week in week out to chase united..no distraction from champions league..definitely his 1st choice striker

i still think 3-4-3 as the most balance formation..is scoring well for the last few games..i much prefer to have fletcher/sturridge/lambert as 3rd striker though

Tough one. I would say Rafael just edges it but it is very difficult in my opinion. This is based upon my guess that Man. United will improve defensively now Vidic is getting back to full fitness and does not get injured again.

I honestly have no idea. No way am i selling Michu/Mata though, so 3 from Walcott/bale/felli has to be selected.

I will narrow it down further and say I want Bale, so one of Walcott/Felli...?

EVE I suppose can be "covered" with baines/Peanut(not peanus) or jelavic.

Walcott/Arsenal is the one that worries me though.

Pog=cheap 3rd striker to fuel my heavy mid
Gerrard= Liverpool cover for a couple of weeks...have a good feeling about him. Will downgrade to Fellaini in a couple of weeks to do Pog>Sturridge
Clichy=pretty set at LB, could go for Nasty. Either way, Lescott and Kolarov will eat into their time.
AJ=in great form, with Sunderland, there will be points there. Plus, a differential. Don't want to have the same lineup as everyone else...

Defensive cover from United/City/Chelsea as long as your others rotate well you should be good at the back.

Then AJ is pretty damn good 5th mid.

      Strikers are class too.

Well planning some weeks ahead, WC already gone. Current team is:

    Bego/Jaask

    B. Davies/Demel/Zabaleta/Harte/Rafael

    Walcott/Michu/Fellaini/Mata/Kaca

    Berba/Ba/RVP
    0.8mil in the bank

Considering Walcott to Bale this week and Berba to Remy next week. But Bale's form is a bit of a doubt, Should I double up on Chelsea with Hazard and Mata and get rid of Ba instead of Berba, or keep Walcott, do Berba to Remy, and upgrade Kaca or Harte? Any thoughts here are more than welcome!

          3)Chelsea
          4)Tottenham

Why not splash some cash on one of those? What would your 3rd striker situation look like then? Can't justify the 1.5 pounds of juice milked to somewhere else on your squad by abstaining from Baines....

    Worth sticking to Joe Cole?
Brought him in on wildcard with the DGW in mind but not sure what to do with him now.

    Morning guys,

Not sure whether to stick with Ba or not.

    A. Downgrade Ramirez and bring in Aguero for a hit
    B. Save transfer and do A next week for free
    C. Bring in Tevez instead

    Ta.

    Jussi
    Davies – Luiz – Gibbs
    Mata – Fellaini – Michu - Walcott
    Ba – RVP – Sturridge

    Federici – Ramirez - Demel - Shaw

Would you rather have Silva or Aguero for CIty cover?

Silva has guaranteed game-time and ticks along with an assist most games, then a burst like this week.
Aguero when fit and played, can score a brace every game, but more prone to rotation.

Not prone to rotation at all. If healthy, he'll start, he's their best striker, no Champ or Europa league, and Mankini isn't an idiot (most of the time). I'd rather have Aguero, but Silva isn't a bad option either.

    On WC currently

Would you give up one of: Mata, Bale, Walcott, Michu to be able to afford this frontline: RVP - Aguero - Sturridge?

If not, I'd go with RVP - Aguero - Remy or RVP - Suarez - Lambert and have these 4 power mids.

I'm looking at Bale out for that forward line. Him to Fellani free up enough funds?

He frustrates me with his run of 2's and despite his big haul games, he'll average same as most of those other 3.

Last 8 GW i'd say... too many differential captains now and could lose touch even more.
Good time now for an odd differential player though...

Don't like your chances of passing all these good players. They can always get your differential player a week later.

Did anyone notice in the lead up to Walcott's goal last night that, when Torres got dispossessed, he actually went down as if he took a bullet to the back his head? I just noticed that and couldn't help but laugh.

Alright lads, got 3.3 in the bank and am considering switching Ba for Sturridge, giving me the exact funds to upgrade Noble to Bale next GW then play 3-5-2 most weeks. Solid plan? The alternative is upgrading Ba to Aguero.

    Begovic, Federici

    Zabaleta, Gibbs, Davies, Shaw, Demel

    Mata, Walcott, Michu, Fellaini, Noble

    RVP, Ba, Lambert

Sounds good but I just think Ba is going to score big against Reading. Torres is going to be the exception rather than the rule and Ba looks incredibly dangerous, even when he comes off the bench.
