Dugout Discussion

Sunday Dugout Discussion

With Gareth Bale and Michu tearing up defences and delivering big returns from Saturday’s matches, there’s much anticipation ahead of Sunday’s programme. While Aston Villa’s clash with West Ham seems likely to be an edgy battle of attrition, the Old Trafford clash between United and Everton looks to have a lot going for it. Sir Alex Ferguson’s teamsheet will be of keen interest in that one, while the Toffees will be looking to repeat last season’s thrilling 4-4 draw and perhaps keep the title race interesting.

The early team news is in and sees Paul Lambert make three changes to the Villa XI, with Nathan Baker, Fabian Delph and Jordan Bowery replacing Joe Bennett, Karim El Ahmadi and Gabby Agbonlahor.

For the Hammers, Joe Cole and Emanuel Pogatetz come in for Matt Jarvis and Ricardo Vaz Te; Guy Demel is on the bench.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to provide a backdrop to the day’s action.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Evening gentlemen. Which do I do, to field XI next week?

    A. Michu > Sissoko (I really fancy Newcastle's fixtures)

    B. Replace Davies with another budget defender.

Bale 3, Gouffran 2, Dawson 1, Parker 1 (even without an assist) (close Taylor)
Hazard 3, Ramires 2, Azpilicueta 1 (2 and 1 could go either way) (close Torres)
Hangeland 3, Turner 2, Sidwell 2 (close Snodgrass)
Huth 3, Mariappa 2, Shawcross 1 (in the mix Jerome and Whelan)
Ramsey 3, Arteta 3, Walcott 2 (in the mix Szczesny, Cazorla and Mertesacker) (tight!)
          Michu 3, Pablo Hernandez 2, Rangel 1 (2 and 1 very tight)
Lambert 3, Davis 3, Dzeko 1 (can’t separate top 2, could go either way).

LOOOL at deluded Man Utd fans. They were completely outplayed by Everton in their OWN stadium. Most of the match was in Manchester United's half. Real Madrid will destory United in both legs. 4-1 in Santiago and 3-0 in Old Trafford.

    Hi,

A Robin Van Persie block was misattributed to Tom Cleverley by the press association.

“29:22 Darron Gibson takes a shot. Blocked by Tom Cleverley.”

This Darron Gibson shot was in fact blocked by Robin Van Persie.

As blocks count towards positive EA ppi I believe this may affect potential bonus points. I believe the mistake should be reviewed and corrected as it can clearly be seen that Van Persie blocked the shot and not Tom Cleverley.

    Thank you.

    😉
