The Dugout Discussion – Monday

Nine down, one to go as Swansea welcome Hull to the Liberty and hand us some Monday night football to sink our teeth into. Michael Laudrup’s side have offered Fantasy managers a strong source of points at both ends of the pitch in front of their own fans – three of the last four home games have produced a clean sheet and three goals or more for the Welsh outfit:

Jonjo Shelvey’s 14-point haul in the previous Gameweek saw the former Liverpool man earn himself over 161,000 new owners prior to the weekend deadline, though with Curtis Davies back on board after serving a one-match suspension, the Tigers will be hoping to turn in a resilient display.

The big news is that Michu is fit and available to lead the line for the hosts after recovering from ankle and knee problems. He replaces Alvaro Vazquez up top in one of three changes by Laudrup, as Gerhard Tremmel and Nathan Dyer come in for Michel Vorm and Alex Pozuelo. Robbie Brady drops out for the Tigers after a series of disappointing displays since returning from injury.

    Need one that rotates well with Speroni. I plan to always have GK with home game and that rules out Mannone.
    
    Marshal probably have the best home fixtures in next few months. Krul is on fire and in better team, but with Arsenal and Man City at home in next 4 home games.
    
    I am basicaly between Krul and Marshal. Other two rotates well, but not sure if I am ready to rely on Nor or Villa defence.

        There was no change of formation. Same as the Arsenal game but with Davies returning from suspension, Figueroa played wing back so Brady dropped out as he's been terrible since return from injury.

Looking at cpl def options:

ward (4m) : nailed on, creates a few chances, not much of a bap magnet
gabbidon (4.2): nailed on, history of goal scoring?, been taking baps
delaney (4.4): nailed on, i think he has a good history of goal scoring, luxury option?

i feel like going for the luxury option which hardly anyone has...although he hasnt scored yet, i remember reading that delaney scored quite a lot in championship

1) Next GW no injuries and I can get rid of the knobber, or

Delighted to move into top 7k but hate the look of my team right now. Such a testing period in FPL coming up with lots of injuries, bad fixtures, xmas rotation, dropped players etc.

Anyone have bigger defensive problems than this?

  Not perhaps as horrific as it looks at first glance. Keepers realistically are only going to gain you 6 or 7 points on a good day. Play Speroni, get the save points under Pulis and wait for January wildcard.
  
  Chico will only be out for one game, leave him. Then just transfer out Clyne to a different defender.

  This week I had Boruc, Clyne, Ravel and Rooney not playing. I made 1 FT so I can have a one substitute. Turned out I should've saved FT because I ended up benching Santon.

  You are in pretty tough spot. I'd suggest replacing one of Clyne/Vlaar and play Speroni. He should at least get decent number of saves.
