Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame Updated

Over the last couple of days, we’ve updated both the Career Hall of Fame and the Live version for members. The Career version now includes all new additions to the Fantasy Football Scout leagues and is viewable to all via this link or the top menu “HoF” link. This table will be updated every week with new entrants.

The Hall of Fame is a ranking system which we apply to everyone in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. Essentially, it tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly.

The “Live” version of the Hall of Fame, available to our Members, has been updated to include points earned in Gameweek 20. This will be updated with the latest rankings 24 hours after the conclusion of every Gameweek from this point on.

If you’re wondering what the Hall of Fame is all about, you can read below for a quick guide. Alternatively, you can view this movie to listen to Mark and Rate My Team’s Chris Atkinson talk you through it.

Live Hall of Fame Top 10

In the meantime, we thought we’d run the rule over those at the top following the update:

Site moderator Evs is the new number one in the Live Hall of Fame. Having finished fifth overall last year, he looks poised for yet another incredible season – he currently sits on 1,298 points, which is enough to earn him 1,846th spot overall with another 18 Gameweeks to go.

Ulrik Nylnad sits in second spot. His consistency over the past seven seasons in staggering – in six of those years, he’s finished inside the top 2,100, with his “worst” performance back in 2011/12, where he ended in 7,729th spot overall. Ulrik is currently situated around the 46,000 mark but with such an impressive history, you’d expect him to push on again.

Derek Simpson takes third spot. He ended last year in 38th position overall and has finished inside the top 4,000 in five of the last six seasons – at present, he’s just inside the 100,000 mark but has plenty time to make his mark.

In fourth, Rob Pitt has finished inside the top 1,000 in two of the last three years and is nicely poised around the 12K mark, whilst Chris Denbeigh is set for another outstanding season. He has top beaten the 2,5000 mark in six of the previous seven years and is currently situated in 2,559th spot overall.

Elsewhere in the top 10, Atiq Rahman is the highest of our featured managers in this season’s overall standings. A score of 1,304 points has helped him climb to 1,337th position – boosting his chances of finishing inside the top 5,000 for the sixth time in seven years. Pascal Evans has managed a top 1,000 finish in five of the previous seven but, currently sitting in 152,350th overall, has a task on his hands to repeat that feat.

What is the Hall of Fame?
In simple terms, this is as ranking system which can be applied to everyone in our Fantasy Premier League mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. The Hall of Fame tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a ranking according to the performances. We have a career table that updates every season and a live table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every Gameweek.

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2012/13 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2007/08. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League (1580-1106), or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings.

The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data. This version will only be available to our members in the Members Area. If you wish to get access to the live version, you can sign up as a member. Click here for details on upgrading your account or signing up.

that defence is pathetic, I'd get in JRod for Lukaku or Negredo or downgrade one of Silva/Yaya and upgrade Baker/Ward

regarding my earlier post..it's actually more like
    A) Eriksen + Baines + Mutch
    B) Gerrard + Coleman + Jedinak

I'm thinking A myself (if Eriksen plays forward and if not I could see him rising in price anyways so I could ship Davis and ditch for Lallana [would have to drop Boruc or Davis])

    looking at this currently

    http://i.imgur.com/NnVkvnL.png

really like it and it's very tempting to WC already and just have the plan in place to bring in Aguero when fit rather than plan my WC around his return..

plus he clearly looks like he's excited to return and could be back the 18th

If your planning on having Jedinak/Mutch on the bench most weeks then B looks better to me. All depends on how Eriksen does though

yup exactly. think he'll be the hot ticket anyways so if I get him early could cash in on some rises and replace as it IS entirely possible that Eriksen sits a little deeper once Townsend is back (as Sherwood loves Townsend)

            22.6% ownership for Lallana
            18% ownership for Cabaye
            2.6% for Eriksen

most certainly worth a punt 😉

Here's some differentials if you want to break the template.
    % = Ownership

    Defenders:

    Evans (MUN) --- 5.0m---2.0%
    - Started 9 of the last 10 games
    - Swansea, Cardiff, Stoke and Fulham in the next 5
    - Decent eye for goal, scored 3 goals last season
    - United tend to get more CSs at this time of year

    Azpilicueta (CHE) ---5.3m---1.9%
    - Started 9 of the last 10 games
    - Nailed on with Ivanovic injured
    - In his preferred position of RB, where he was VERY attacking last season
    - Will be trying to nail down the spot before Ivanovic returns (can play LB if Ivanovic returns)
    - Can get clean sheets against anyone with Mourinho's current defensive mindset

    Kolarov (MCI) ---5.3m---1.9%
    - Started 5 of the last 6 games that he was available for
    - Very attacking in open play and also on some direct FKs
    - Plays Newcastle and Cardiff in the next two
    - He's a god

    Also consider:
    M. Olsson (NOR) ---4.2m---1.0%
    Nastasic (MCI) ---5.1m---0.8%
    Williamson (NEW) ---4.4m---1.2%

    Midfielders:

    Willian (CHE) ---7.5m---0.1m
    - Started 5 of the last 7 matches he's been available for
    - Rumours around the departures of Mata and De Bruyne make him more likely to start (less options in his position)
    - Hull and West Ham in his next 4
    - Even if he doesn't start, he's scored 2 goals off the bench this season, including a stunning effort against Norwich in GW7

    Gerrard (LIV) ---8.7m---4.4%
    - Proven FPL player with penalties and some FKs in his locker
    - 3 goals and 7 assists in 1315 mins this season
    - Nailed on, club captain
    - Plays Stoke, Villa, Everton and WBA in next 4 matches

    Eriksen (TOT) ---7.1m---2.5%
    - Played every minute under Tim Sherwood
    - 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 matches
    - 7 decent fixtures in next 8 weeks
    - Playing in an advanced midfield position and takes some FKs

    Also consider:
    Snodgrass (NOR) ---5.9m---3.4%
    Cazorla (ARS) ---9.5m---2.3%
    Ki (SUN) ---4.8m---0.4%

    Forwards:

    Bony (SWA) ---7.3m---3.0%
    - 6 goals in 901 mins this season
    - Plays Fulham, West Ham, Cardiff and Stoke in his next 6
    - Nailed on
    -Possibly on penalties

    Hooper (NOR) ---6.1m---1.4%
    - 4 goals in his last 7 starts
    - Great history at Celtic, looks to be settling in to the premier league
    - On penalties
    - Plays Everton, Hull, Newcastle and Cardiff in the next 4

    Agbonlahor (AVL) ---6.7m---1.1%
    - 2 goals in last 2 games
    - Kozak out for the season and Benteke out of form - if Villa score he's likely to be involved
    - Difficult next 2 fixtures (ARS,liv), then 6 consecutive 'good' fixtures

    Also consider:
    Berbatov (FUL) ---7.0m---3.1%
    Berahino (WBA) ---4.5m---1.6%
    Crouch (STK) ---5.5m---2.2%

anything more specific than that? I know that a lot of this game comes down to subjective reasoning, but just as much is down to stats vs price vs fixtures vs club

Next season? Haven't got a clue. All the prices will be different, and it depends what the fixtures are. Newcastle might have ten straight easy games for example, where I'd probably get one of their defenders.

Amen to that. Might give FPL a swerve and stick to the better games. Might be worth an FPL team to make use of their stats and formatting which are better than any other.

technnically my fourth season but I never actually kept up with it which is why I'm surprised I had two 500k finishes the last two seasons because I know for a fact I probably 15 transfers each season and constantly forgot to check/adjust..

Other players in his price range or lower are better prospects in my opinion.

Also there's Lallana to consider as well. For example if you went with Rodriguez you probably wouldn't get in Lallana as well. You could go for Berbatov + Lallana, but what Fulham midfielder would you want with Rodriguez? I think going with Lallana is a better route.

"Norwich a fraction of the club that Spurs are."

What does that have to do with anything? If he scores goals, he gets me points. And that's what he's been doing recently. He's finally found his feet and is looking like a promising player.

Because the quality of the players around him will not give him the same service that Adebayor will get? Norwich is midtable fodder if lucky and Spurs are top 6 contenders

only looks like he can do it against bottom teams..idk it's a toss up, Adebayor is certainly a better striker so it's just a question of whether he's a 1.6m better striker..think JRod is a better player though given that they're the same price practically

Differential WC team. Time to go big or go home. What you guys think?

    Boruc, Davis

    Koscielny, Coleman, Evans, Chester, Bardsley

    Hazard, Walcott, Silva, Lallana, Eriksen

    Suarez, Aguero, Berahino

aside from Berahino, pretty template tbf..but since you're playing a 3-5-2 that doesn't play in your favor really..

A player with low %, BUT that also scores well. People tend to forget the 2nd bit...just look at you ML's to determine a differential. I had Sess for a couple of weeks when no one did. It turned out a mistake as everyone has Ramsey.

          🙁

Yeah I get what your saying. The hope is that the punts will out score the usual suspects, least for a little while to help me catch up then go from there. Might turn into a disaster but thems the risks when we play FPL 🙂

I don't know, certainly not Hazard, Walcott, Silva, Suarez, Augero and Coleman

it would be more like Oscar/Willian, Ozil/Santi, Navas, Sturridge, Negrado, Baines with players like Ben Arfa and Sagna thrown in there

When you make a differential team the point isn't to totally ignore sure fire winners as thats not how we win fpl. The point is to have the core of solid players eg, Wally, Hazard, Suarez and then mis in some differentials. No one with a brain would go for Sturridge over Suarez but you could go for Eriksen over Cabaye as a differential.

Plus, looking at ownership can be a bit misleading. RVP has quite a high ownership % but that's mainly all dead teams. We're not up against dead teams as they'll be ranked pretty low.

It's not really down to the formation but the players.
Switching Eriksen to cheapo and Berahino to Lukaku then you have the template team.

I get some of it are below 5%, but Chester Bardsley Berahino are hardly influential.
Eriksen is a differential FPL wise but not here, almost everyone consider him here. Plus Evans.

Who's the 6th below 5% -ers btw? Too lazy to check. I reckon Silva maybe still below 5%?

        Good team though

I tend not to look at my main rivals team and just go for the best team possible and you'll win.

Unless its a 50/50 decison for example I knew my main rival was going for Silva so I purposely went for Yaya Toure

Someone mention a good point yesterday regarding Yaya

He has converted 70% of this shots to his 10 goals this season.

His average is 30% - 40% - even Messi is still below 60%.

Regression suggest he will stop scoring at that rate. Probably 4 more from now til the end of season.

But then again Yaya has been odds-defying this season.

Yaya averages as many points as Silva when all 3 (Kun) start together.

With Silva on, Yaya plays much deeper.

With Kun on, Yaya doesn't take pens.

Expensive buy if you don't already have him. Now if you have him and you're looking to also bring in Silva and Kun, that's a different story.

The main reason is I hate rotating keepers. I'd hate to bench points. But I hate it when my keeper faces a big club, as there's bound to be one goal conceded at least.

If Boruc is back by the time I W/C I'll prob go for him also as they have good fixtures and I'd prefer Boruc at 4.7 over Marshall et all

So that's decided. The DZ vote goes to Boruc.

Looking at some of the cheaper Crystal Palace defenders; which of these are more likely to see the most playing time? I can't dig up any definitive information through various google searches.

    1) Parr
    2) Mariappa
    3) Moxey

I'm 0.1m short of Ward, unfortunately.

Just look at minutes played on the FPL page.

It's pretty hard to tell. Mariappa has the best streak of recent games; but Moxey has the most minutes played (although, absent for awhile).

Parr just got into action and has 2.5 of the last 3 games; so that doesn't help either.

Is there any other way of getting the extra 0.1m for Ward?

Only if I dropped Kosc; but that would be devastating.

I'm rotating 2 cheap defenders from these teams; due to their fixtures:
Hull, Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Norwich

Sorry, I meant that I'm rotating 1 from each team into 2 available slots.

Parr and Moxey are competing for the LB spot. Parr seems to be favoured ATM, he was injured at the start of the season and returned recently.

Mariappa will probably be dropped to the bench soon when Dikgacoi is back from injury. This will allow Ward to return to RB, which Mariappa has been playing in. If you need one of them I'd say the safest is Parr.

    Mertesacker v Koscielny.

Having checked the history, this largely boils down to the goal threat differential. At 0.8 shots per game to 0.3, I think Mertesacker has enough additional points potential. Personally, I'd expect Mertesacker to get a couple more goals which more than justifies a small additional outlay.

So your prepared to pay £0.9m for a couple more goals?

Certainly. Extra 14pts minimum for 15pts per 1.0m. Good value.

I didn't know it was that wide a margin. I guess if you have extra funds it wouldn't hurt to have that added GT.

Any suggestions on this possible team for the wildcard? Thinking of doing Rooney to Sturridge so i can improve the defense, just feel uneasy having three 3.9 defenders

    Marshall
    Coleman | Zabaleta | Chester
    Silva | Hazard | Eriksen | Walcott
    Suarez | Aguero | Rooney

Mannone Baker | Whittaker | Canas
