The ScoutCast – Episode 123 – Ghost

The title summons up imagery of Granville straddling me at the Potter’s wheel, lovingly helping to craft a clay creation as we unite to sculpt out a Van Persie bust – in true Lionel Ritchie’s “Hello” style.

That’s probably lost approximately half of our potential audience who are too young to recall the analogy. The other half are likely to be repelled by the image of Granville and I caught in a Swayze/Moore-like clinch.

If you’re part of the minority still sticking around, curious to hear how the above nonsense translates into a podcast, then listen up. You’ll catch the plenty of Wildcard ribbing, a tale of captain calamity exposed by this week’s community questions and the usual array of regulars.

Prepare to be haunted via this link or exorcise your right to stream via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Good Morning people.
How does this Wildcard draft look like?

    Adrian/3.9
    Terry/Evans/Shaw/Ward/Fabio
    Hazard/Eriksen/Mirallas/Johnson/Puncheon
    RVP/Suarez/Benteke

I never like a non playing second keeper. Particularly with potential blank gameweeks and DGW's on the radar

    Repost, bottom of page
Who to replace aguero with if out a while? would have 12.1 to spend. rooney/negredo?
    team is
    Boruc, Mannone
    Coleman, Koscielny, Kolarov, Ward, Chester
    Yaya, Hazard, Mata, Lallana, Gnabry
    Suarez, Aguero, Sturridge.

could do yaya-lallana- aguero to silva- a johnson- RVP but would be -8
    Any advice?

Now then. I know RVP historically is great and will be great again. But he has been struggling this season and certainly not worth his price tag so far. Can the purchase of another player completely change one persons form? And if so why not select the other forward from the same team who is in better form (Rooney) and is cheaper. Would that player also benefit from the improved delivery?

This is the million dollar question, compared Rvp and Rooney in the members area and see for yourself, last six games played for both. Rvp far more threatening but Waz far more involved hence more assists. Its a tough one..

Why I might choose Rooney over RVP:

-Rooney averages 6.7 PPG with good fixtures coming up
-Moyes gives Rooney more liberty to attack unlike Fergie
-Rooney is a great corner and free kick taker
-He is 2.3M cheaper allowing me to upgrade a defender

I don't like planning to make transfers directly after a WC, but I can't for the life of me decide whether to drop Mertesacker for Koscienly or keep him (got him at 5.6)... so here's my plans...

A - Have both for the CPL game, then switch to my preferred Chelsea defender in GW25...

This would give me Mert Kos Evans (Fabio Ward) for GW24

B - Alternatively I would have to decide within the next day before another ball has been kicked which defender from each team I want... (thinking Ivan and Kos right now)...

This would give me Kos Evans Fabio (Ivan Ward) for GW24...

I think A gives me more points short term, however risky is it to double up, but is the wasted FT more than cancelling that out?

    Thanks

I would ditch one of them this week so I wouldn't need to lose 4 points to ditch them. Kind of negates the 4 points you would get for a clean sheet

The planned transfer would be a FT, but yes I understand that it is essentially worth 4pts...

I figured that my team would not require any other surgery for a few weeks, allowing me to gamble on the double up and subsequent switch, but that is way too much idealism right there, this is FPL, something always happens to feck up the best laid plans...

I'm not sure if I have ever stuck to a planned transfer. Why not swap to another defender who will probably get a clean sheet with a slightly rosier future?

I probably wouldn't go A. As you say slightly higher expected upside but FT could easily be worth more plus pretty high risk. May depend on if you are trying to catch someone or hold a lead?

    which option is better:
    A: aguero >> adebayor/benteke/dzeko/rooney
    B: aguero + bony >> Rvp + Jrod (-4)...0.2m short of dzeko 🙁
    C: aguero + kolorav >> Rvp + 4.6m def (-4)....rest of def is evans/mert/vlaar/bruce
    D: aguero + barkley >> Rvp + noone (-4)....0.1 short of bacuna 🙁
E: save FT..hope aguero doesnt drop by too much and start barkley instead who has a good fix

Alright so, I can drop Aguero for RVP and Coleman for a defender for max of 5.3.... Stick or twist on Coleman is the big question.. Had since week 1 so not too pushed but Jevens or Azpi can fit right in no probs + RVP is in.... Rooney is an otption too

Any thoughts? Didn't ee any games once again this week so opinions are nice

    So.
Who's in for Joleon Lescott tomorrow? 4.8m, will certainly get minutes at West Ham, and likes to have a headed goal from corner kicks.

If the ManCity new defender deal goes off, I'm swapping him in for Bardsley. This has been a DeadZone exclusive.
