The ScoutCast – Episode 124 – Fizz

There’s very little fizzing away within Granville’s Fantasy lineup right now but, while the Mancunian can justifiable lament his stagnant squad, I’m having to console myself with the smallest of victories – namely a sniveling 9-point Gameweek victory. Get some perspective, Granville.

That’s not the reasoning behind this weeks moniker, however, as once again it’s the questions from the community that inspires the title of another ScoutCast episode. Rounding off with the usual interrogation from you, the listener, we start by dropping in on the regulars, whilst reviewing the ins and outs of the transfer window and touching on the Carroll’s flailing arm and Chelsea’s shackling of City.

Make Your Mind up via this link or get a Piece of the Action* via the handy player below.

*Admittedly I had to look this one up. Not even my knowledge of awful 80’s pop could stretch that far.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Not really. Still a very very skilled player, just that top teams tend to keep it extra tight - especially with Suarez.

Yeah, that's fair. I just think people who call him the best striker in the world are insane, so I wind the Suarez crowd up a little. He is brilliant at times though and fun to watch

My team is made up from:

        Mannone
        Ward / Shaw / Coleman
        Hazard / Silva / Mata / Lallana / Puncheon
        Sturridge / Suarez

On the bench currently are Giroud / Merts and Chester (injured)

Can't decide though to go 3-5-2 with Puncheon at home against West Brom or 3-4-3 with Giroud up front. Cant see the wood for the trees in terms of can the Liverpool/Arsenal match be high scoring...?

Hip Hip Hooray, bring on the mass overhaul.

United have 3 quality attacking mids in Mata, Kawaga and even Rooney. Fellani not injured will also bolster things. Think they need to sort out their defence and get a decent winger. Not some youngster with talent. A proven winger.

Yeah, it depends. Only if I think it will benefit me in the long run because otherwise it is a bit self-defeating. AJ's fixtures are bad and if Bruce doesn't play again this week I'll do it.

I think ill stick with AJ against city and ship Bruce next week. the stupid rationale behind it is, it is not like city have been crazy solid at the backline whether the were home or away. and AJ is playing against his old team and might have a point to prove.

The return of Reid makes a big difference to the Hammers defence. Also, the fixtures are looking kind and Big Sam needs to keep it tight at the back - because attacking options are limited. All in all I think its a v good time to invest. (I have Reid and Adrian).

          A) Collins vs Tomkins. I'm unsure on this one. Tomkins I feel slightly edges it.
          B) Amero may start instead of McCartney. McCartney has been playing solidly and should keep his place for now.

Interesting - Cardiff are pretty weak defensively away from home was my thinking, but I see these derbies have been low scoring in recent years.

Plan was to give Bony one more week and then switch to Sturridge/Negredo/Dzeko next week

Re Szczesny, I got him at 5.6 which doesn't seen too bad.

I always see it from a different perspective, Bony off form now, playing for a managerless Swansea in freefall with no supply. And Puncheon has been in red hot form @home and on pens. But go with your gut! Don't let me mess up your head. And regarding the keepers it's extreme value in Mannone/Adrian that's probably the only reason why I am disliking the non rotation keeper!

Cheers AB. Yeah, it's tempting to start Clyne, but it seems Chambers returned to training yesterday so he could well start, and if he's a little short of lasting the 90 then there's a decent risk of a Clyne cameo.

Davies probably better from an attacking sense also.

Crazy to put Zaha in over Stevie G this week. Team would be:

This is strange to me: Not sure if I trust SAS with JRod as the third striker, I definitely don't trust double Southampton defenders as 2 of your 5. It will be a mistake to bench AJ and/or Gerrard this week and the defense is pretty bad. Downgrade Hart and upgrde the defense for a start

The defence rotates very well. But I agree that Hart needs to go soon, if just to cover the blank; am considering Ruddy perhaps.

I don't like benching either of those guys TBH. But with AJ not picking up baps, I can see Ward matching him for points even if Johnson scores...and I see the Palace cleanie as more likely.

At least that's my justification, I accept this is possibly a big mistake!

I think Ruddy might be a nice replacement for you so maybe get him and then upgrade Shaw or Fonte. How i see it is this: AJ is on form so for arguments sake lets say he gets just one goal, I think Sunderland will get a CS so that's another point there and suddenly he's on 8 points pre baps and then you have to realize, what's stopping him from getting more than just a goal. Also consider that a clean sheet is no sure thing especially for a promoted side

This is where the fear factor comes in...it's nerve-racking waiting for cleanies anyway and like you say, he could score more. Hmmm...then like Sinik says, Gerrard is a big game player. But last week I got 4 cleanies and I can see it happening again. I take your point with the defence but I like it for now...eventually I will migrate to another rotation for the end of the season with some Chelsea cover. It's all mapped out 🙂

How did Eikrem fall? I didn't think enough people had him in the first place.

I would say yes because Soton have good next 3 fixtures and I don't buy all the Bony hype one bit.

Yeah, Lambert returned in good shape and did very well, he plays in the front and Home against Stoke, I believe he can do well again.

Probably yes. I didn't consider him when I opted for JRod and maybe I should have. Can see him starting to do well now with Osvaldo out of the frame.
