The Weekend Team News

Seamus Coleman is back for Everton. The injuries build up for Newcastle ahead of tomorrow’s trip to the Bridge. Victor Wanyama and Calum Chambers will be assessed before Southampton’s clash with Stoke, who have a couple of midfield concerns to fret over. James Morrison is back for the Baggies. Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger edge towards a return for Liverpool, whilst Ron Vlaar remains a doubt for Villa’s clash with the Hammers:

Earlier this morning, Roberto Martinez confirmedSeamus Coleman “has come through training really well” ahead of Sunday’s trip to Tottenham. Antolin Alcaraz remains out for the Toffees, whilst Romelu Lukaku is set to miss the next couple of weekends. The Everton manager revealed Ross Barkley has been playing through the pain barrier after sustaining a broken toe but expects the youngster to be fully fit and went on to say he will ”need to check” on Lacina Traore, who is no “fully fit from a medical point of view”.

Newcastle United have revealed that midfielder Cheick Tiote will miss the Magpies’ next two fixtures at least, after he picked up a hamstring injury during the week. Papiss Cisse remains a doubt with a back injury, whilst Alan Pardew has confirmed that Yoan Gouffran is “unlikely” to return this weekend. Elsewhere, captain Fabricio Coloccini is expected to be out for another three weeks.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Victor Wanyama and Calum Chambers came off against Fulham with a knock and dead leg respectively. The pair are back in training, though, and set to be assessed ahead of the Stoke clash. Injury absentees Dejan Lovren and Gaston Ramirez have returned to light training, with Pochettino suggesting that the duo will be back in action “sooner than expected.”

James Morrison is available for West Brom’s clash with Palace this weekend after recovering from the calf problem which led to his absence in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool. Nicolas Anelka, Jonas Olsson and Stephane Sessegnon have all been ruled out however, with Pepe Mel confirming that defender Craig Dawson will be thrust into the starting XI to face the Eagles.

Brendan Rodgers has suggested that defenders Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson could both return to training next week following calf and ankle/groin problems. The Liverpool boss was less optimistic on Mamadou Sakho, though, revealing that the summer signing is “still out for a little bit.”

Norwich centre-back Ryan Bennett (thigh) has emerged as a doubt for the weekend, with Hughton declaring that it will be “touch and go” as to whether the defender features. Hughton also delivered positive news on the fitness of Michael Turner (hamstring) and Jonny Howson (back), revealing that, despite not being available this weekend, the duo have made good progress in recent days.

Marko Arnautovic and Jon Walters are both concerns for Stoke after limping out of last weekend’s victory over Man United. Mark Hughes remains hopeful that the pair will be available for the trip to Southampton, though. Long-term absentees Matthew Etherington and Andy Wilkinson are back in training for the Potters but Robert Huth is still a couple of weeks away from a return.

Aston Villa have mixed injury news ahead of the visit of West Ham this weekend. Skipper Ron Vlaar remains a doubt with the hamstring problem that forced him off at Goodison Park last week, though there is good news on Gabby Agbonlahor, with Paul Lambert optimistic on the forward’s chances of featuring, revealing that he “looks pretty good at the minute.”

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

So RMT has Hazard at 5.49 and Suarez at 5.66 but suggests I should captain Hazard. Seems a bit odd to me. Can anyone enlighten me as to why?

Yeah but it's literally predicting Suarez is going to outscore Hazard whilst also saying I should captain Hazard. Presumably there must be some algorithmic thing going that I don't understand...

Its probably predicting the captain based on the strength of the fixture and projected points, rather than just their projected points.

    Ideas on this lot?

    Mannone / Boruc
    Coleman / Koscielny / Ward / Bruce / Ivanovic
    Johnson / Mata / Noone / Lallana / Hazard
    Suárez / Sturridge / Bony

1 FT, £3.2m in the bank.

    Save or sell Bony?

    Something else?

    Thanks in advance. 🙂

Last week I needed an 8 point hit to get 11 players out. They did well though and I scored 70(-8) points.
More injuries this week. Should I do
Wilsh to Paulinho for a hit? or What about Zaha?

I want to get Ivanovic in for Kolarov, largely due to nailed on vs shared gametime. It seems like the kind of transfer I could do for a hit but reimburse the points by timing it well. I was planning on playing Mert, Ward and Coleman this week and benching Kolarov as I'm worried about a 15 minute cameo after playing 90 minutes on Monday. Reckon it's worth the hit to play Ivanovic over Mert?

So Vidic will leave United this Summer. Sad to see him go but given that he has had a few injuries this season suggests to me that he's one of those "aging badly" type of players. Not the end of the world, a defensive overall is needed and now Moyes has even further justification (aside from the defence being utter crap.)

Good decision, he hasn't been good/fit enough recently.

They need to get rid of the likes of him and Ferdinand and move on rather than playing different CB partnerships every game. They know need to now play 2 of Jones, Evans, Smalling for the rest of the season and decide if they're good enough, if not they need to buy.

I agree, won't ever have a bad word to say about him but his time at United is done.

Yeah I think Moyes was suggesting that that's what he has been doing all season, giving players chances to show that they can play for United. I think he also expects to move on a good few of these players over the Summer.

    Sturridge -> RVP for free?

First it sounded like a no-brainer, but now I'm thinking it's not worth it. RVP is a better choice this week, but has Arsenal away, Palace away and a blank after that, when Pool has Fulham away, Swansea at home and Southampton away (no great fixture, but it's not a blank).

I'm glad someone else is entertaining this.. I am not a mug, I realise the risks, but even though I'm defending my mini-leagues sometimes you need bold moves!

I'm entertaining Suarez to RVP in GW30 until the end of the season. Obviously depending on their respective form at the time, but fixture-wise it looks like a good move.

I don't think its worth spending the 2 FT's on (1 this week, 1 next) with blank GW's coming up.

      Suárez, RVP, Giroud.

      Davis, Ki, Koscielny, Chester.

1 FT, £0.3m in the bank.

Bit of advice please, i have Negrado at the moment, but want Rooney for a -4 hit and can afford him, i also have Mariappa and Bennett to choose from as final defender, but am contemplating a -8 and taking out one of these for Shaw. Negrado uncertain to start, Mariappa has lost his place and Bennett is injured and have got city anyway. Is that a worthy gamble??

      1. Fill a plastic bottle of water with stones and place it inside your toilet cistern. It will save water on
every flush. Use either a one litre bottle, a milk carton or a few small plastic bottles.
      2. Do not leave water running when brushing your teeth.
      3. Use a four minute timer for the shower.
      4. Install aerators on taps and shower. Uses less water, but feels like more.
      5. Wash and peel potatoes and Vegetables from water in a bowl. Never under running water.
      6. Get a water butt for collecting rain water to be used for watering garden plants.
      7. Hand wash your car using water from the water butt.
      8. Always fill the dishwasher before use.
      9. Always fill the washing machine before use.
      10. Repair any leaking taps or toilets.

        5. Always have done.
        8. I'm the dishwasher.
        9. Have a half load option.
