Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – First

For the second week in succession, Jon Walters rebuilt his spot-kick reputation by firing Stoke’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Norwich. Just four minutes after scoring his fourth league goal of the season, however, the Republic of Ireland international blotted his copybook after seeing red for a challenge on the Canaries’ Alex Tettey in Saturday afternoon’s Carrow Road stalemate:

The dismissal – incidentally the first of his career – means Walters is set to miss the next three Gameweeks, as Mark Hughes’ side go head-to-head against West Ham, Villa and Hull. After the match, the Potters boss conceded he will reluctantly accept the ban:

“There is contact but the ball is bouncing and both players have got their feet high. I think there was an intention to win the ball by both players and unfortunately it’s been nicked away from Jon and he’s caught him on the follow-through, which he’s acknowledged. We are looking at Jon missing three games for that and I think it was one of those challenges which is just a matter of millimetres whether contact is made.”

Walters joins team-mate Charlie Adam on the sidelines, then; the Scot will miss the next two after earning a retrospective three-match ban from the FA last week.

According to reports in the local press, Tottenham are set to appeal the red card handed out to Younes Kaboul in Saturday’s defeat at Chelsea. If successful, the centre-half will be available for this weekend’s north London derby against Arsenal at White Hart Lane – the outcome is due later in the week.

Swansea’s Chico Flores is set to serve a one-match ban against West Brom this weekend, whilst Nicklas Anelka has until Thursday to appeal the five-match ban dished out for his quenelle gesture back in December. In the meantime, the forward has been suspended by the Baggies until the situation is resolved.

In this week’s Suspension Tightrope, we have a couple of new additions edging closer towards a potential ban. Arsenal’s Mathieu Flamini and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin both earned their eighth cautions of the campaign – two more yellows prior to Gameweek 34 and they’ll be looking at time on the sidelines.

    ok which option

    a) Azpi to Baines this week (still have Cahill)

    b) wait 1 week for Baines and sell Shaw (don't want to sell Shaw before Norwich at home)

    c) Azpi to Baines this week then Shaw to a 6.3 or less defender next week?

          not a bad idea

I already have Flanagan and Suarez so only 1 spot open for me. I did consider the Gerrard and Sterling option but it was Distin. He offers so little in terms of attcking threat and BAPs and that swung me away from him, he's a very good option though, especially with those 2 fixtures

      Gerrard especially.
Lovely fixtures where Pool could score 3 or 4 and he's been getting on the score sheet quite a bit.
Also the kind of games where you could see a Skrtel header from a corner.

Gerrard is difficult to get, if you are having Suarez, Sturridge, Aguero, Yaya, Hazard, Baines

Yaya + Sterling is cheaper (and maybe better) option than Nasri + Gerrard.

Yaya + Nasri is a really nice option, but that again is difficult on TVs.

Taking a big risk and going without Aguero for the double. Got Lukaku instead. My reason is Aguero's away record and injury history. Just 1 of his 6 double figure hauls came away from home and we know how frequently he gets injured. Plus i won't be captaining him anyway in next 3 weeks atleast.

He can do real damage in Fulham game though and that is the only worry.

    Cahill - Shaw - Coleman
Hazard - Yaya Toure - Lallana - Johnson
    Aguero (c) - Suarez - Adebayor

2.4 for Adebayor -> Sturridge.. which leaves me with .1 left over.. Adebayor expected to drop tonight.. is that the only change in price between the two before the deadline on Saturday?

    Boruc

    Terry Baines Olsson Dann Bruce

    Mata Hazard Mirallas Ince noone

    Suarez Sturridge Rooney

    1ft, 1.5m in bank.

Where can i improve? is Mata > Yaya and selling DGW player really advisable??

yes, ince has been dropped and Mirallas will only start one DGW match.

Wow looks very good, all set for DGW aswell, I would probably do a keeper transfer next week with that squad. Great planning

Cheers man! Yeah did the transfers with DGW in mind, the only gamble is Sissoko but with the DGW fixtures he looks ok.
A keeper transfer is good advice, maybe to Adrian or Mannone.

    Adrian* (Marshall)
    Ivan,Fonte,Ward Caulker,Kos* * = DGW
    Haz,Lallana,Sterling* Snoddy,Januzaj*
    Ade,Suarez*,Studge*

    2FT 2.3 ITB

Had a decent GW29 and now within 5 points of 1st in my ML but need some help with who to bring in with regards to this week and then the DGW. I wanna try and field 9DGW players at least (also not fussed about having Aguero in my team..)

Any transfer suggestions will be appreciated

Dont get rid of Haz - he's the only reliable and must have midfielder.

You will lose money and its a waste of 2 transfers.

He could outscore and probably will outscore most DGW players.

But he has Arsenal that week. Jose will go for the typical 1-0 result.

Not many gws left to worry about FTs maybe.

it's up to you but it is very short sighted imo.

any other midfielder i'd say go ahead.

As I said above, only 7 gws left after gw 31. Not much time to worry about FTs I guess.

Alright guys, spreading out the hits across GW30 and DGW31 - total about 4 transfers, which means -8. Which would you choose?

    (A) Lukaku, Yaya Touré, Meyler and Sissoko/Sterling or someone below 5.8m
    (B) Agüero, Johnson, Meyler and Sissoko/Sterling or someone below 5.8m

    Granville has a point

City have 9 CS this season

previous 3 saw them register 18,17,18

they'll do well to match that this season

Chelsea have 13 now, compared to 15,10,14. Should easily better than 15 figure
