Captain Sensible – Gameweek 33

A home clash with Southampton sees Man City heavily backed in this week’s Captain Poll, with three of their options sitting in the top six. Luis Suarez, Eden Hazard and Wayne Rooney are the three front-runners, though, as we assess your selections for the weekend ahead:

With Sergio Aguero ruled out by injury once again earlier today, we take the top five available for selection in this week’s Captain Poll (Suarez, Rooney, Hazard, Yaya Toure and Edin Dzeko) as our starting point and construct a members table based around a number of their key statistics in order to flag up any other players offering a similar sort of threat.

Dropped slightly outside the top 10k after last GW so really need help with this tough one. Squad:

    Mannone, Marshall
    Ivan, Coleman, Kos, Ward, Chambers
    AJ, Hazard, Yaya, Sterling, Snod
    Lukaku, Sturridge, Suarez,

0.1 intb and I have 2 FTs. I am thinking Kos and Sterling to Punch and Zaba. Good or bad call? Any other suggestions?

Although I despise The Guardian (********y lefties !) I also note Hazard is NOT in their squad sheet line-up....

...whereas of course Yaya will play, and I fancy a big win for City

Took him to the vet and they gave us antibiotics, thought he had an infection. Still no better so took him back on Sunday and vet wanted to keep him in to do tests, they thought he could be diabetic. But they rang us almost straight after we got home to say he had kidney failure and there was nothing they could do 🙁

    Evening all.

Tough decisions this week. My squad is unusually strong this week so struggling to pick who to bench from the following:-

Play 3-4-3 and bench 1 defender from terry, Coleman, zabs & ward. Then bench 1 mid from lallana & mirallas

    Or

Play 4 at the back and bench both lallana and mirallas.

My initial impression is that Southampton will score which means lallana will be involved more often than not therefore affecting zabs CS chance. So I would bench zabs & mirallas.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thoughts anyone?

Zab hasn't been great upfront in the second half of this season but City had a decent amount of clean sheets when playing home . Mirallas has a huge home game against Arsenal and he usually shines .
My opinion is bench Ward and Lallana which means playing Mirallas

One vote each for lallana and mirallas though so anyone else care to chip in?

In 1988 an unknown 17 year old Alan Shearer scored a hat trick on his debut for mid-table Southampton against Arsenal.

Can you imagine an unknown 17 year old starting for, say, West Ham against Arsenal in the PL and scoring a hat trick now?

I think I'd play Mutch but if it's to buy, I think I'd go Puncheon for the doubles.

Coleman barely got past the half way line in the last game, and Everton conceded 4 goals the last time they played Arsenal WITH Jagielka.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thinking about subbing in Mutch and benching Lukaku.

    Zabaleta, Cahill, Azpi (Ward, Collins)
    Eriksen, Yaya, Silva, Hazard (Mutch)
