PlayON Player Picks – Gameweek 35 – Free Entry, £250 Pot

As always on Friday lunchtime, we turn our attentions to PlayON, the weekly Fantasy Football game. Scouring the PlayON Price List for potential bargains, we back Tottenham, Chelsea and Man City to bring in the points ahead of some very promising home games against a trio of relegation candidates:

This week PlayON has a FREE ENTRY, £250 GUARANTEED pot on offer – you can enter your team for free here .

If you’re new to PlayON, it is weekly Fantasy Football so you can dip in and out of playing throughout the season. Once your starting XI is built, you can compete for cash. You can challenge other players to one-on-one games, selecting the amount at stake. The likes of Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand and OptaJoe are all playing the game and are there to be challenged for free or for £1. The Fantasy Football Scout team is also available to be challenged and has a 52% win rate up to this point. You can also create an open challenge against anyone else on the site – just click the amount you want to play for and the number of slots (number of people who can accept your challenge) on the one-on-one page .

For a more in-depth introduction to PlayON, take a look at this season’s introduction article.

Goalkeeper – Joe Hart
The cheapest of Man City’s defensive regulars, Hart is available for 8.6m ahead of Monday evening’s home encounter with West Brom. Hart will be confident of keeping out a Baggies side with a single goal scored in their previous two road trips as Manuel Pellegrini’s side look to get their title bid back on track. Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris is a handy budget enabler at just 6.6m ahead of a home encounter with struggling Fulham, whilst Artur Boruc (7.3m) has recovered from a back problem in time for Southampton’s trip to Villa – the Midlands outfit have scored just four times in five Gameweeks and are struggling to cope with the loss of talisman Christian Benteke up front.

Defender – Branislav Ivanovic
The Serbian sets you back 9.6m in this week’s PlayON Player Price List. Ivanovic welcomes Sunderland to Stamford Bridge, and with a clean sheet in each of the last six in front of their own fans, Jose Mourinho’s side are the most dependable backline around – with three goals to his name already, Ivanovic – who is suspended for the midweek Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid – will pose plenty of problems for Gus Poyet’s porous defence. Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho sets you back 8.6m for a trip to Norwich this weekend. The Canaries have failed to score in each of their last three and, despite Daniel Agger’s return to fitness, the Frenchman has retained his starting berth alongside Martin Skrtel for the league leaders in the past couple of matches. Laurent Koscielny’s return could prove crucial as Arsenal head to Hull. The Gunners centre-half costs only 8.1m and faces a Tigers side that have failed to score in two of their last three at the KC Stadium.

Midfielder – Aaron Ramsey
Climbing off the bench with less than 20 minutes remaining in last Tuesday’s win over West Ham, the Welshman still found time to pick up an assist and turned in an impressive cameo as Arsenal reclaimed fourth spot. Ramsey looks vital to the Gunners’ bid for a Champions League spot and, at just 7.9m ahead of a trip to Hull, offers excellent value this weekend. With Eden Hazard likely to miss out again this weekend, Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah will fancy his chances of starting for the third successive league match. Available for 9.9m, the young Egyptian has scored in each of his last two appearances at Stamford Bridge and his trickery out wide is sure to torment basement-dwellers Sunderland. Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen isn’t cheap at 10.5m but with four goals in as many matches, the Dane is a real in-form option as Tim Sherwood’s side welcome Fulham to White Hart Lane.

Forward – Emmanuel Adebayor
Bearing in mind Tottenham have scored eight times in their last two home matches, visitors Fulham face a tough task to rein in their hosts in tomorrow lunchtime’s early encounter. Adebayor has netted twice in two appearances since returning from injury and, priced at 11.7m, gets the nod over sidekick Harry Kane (11.8m) as a result of spot-kick duties. Sergio Aguero is very favourably priced at just 9.5m for City’s home game with West Brom – handed less than an hour against Sunderland, he’s in line for another start and will be hoping to last the full 90 minutes as he builds up his match sharpness for the run-in. Newcastle’s Loic Remy could be worth a punt at 7.8m. Back in training after recovering from a calf complaint , the Frenchman is expected to return for tomorrow’s home game against Swansea and has scored in three of his last four appearances for the Magpies.

      This is when UFPL is a bit harsh.

      Ward, Silva, Sturridge, John, Rodriguez, Yaya Toure.

      Already got a loan that gave me Rooney, Hazard -> Aguero, Silva last week.
      Pretty rubbish for long term injuries but I'm assuming there'll be transfer periods next season every few gameweeks, hopefully.

      Thinking of using my wc as I have Sturridge, Yaya, Silva,Yoshida,Ward and Johnson(non playing avl mid) all not playing.

      WC team would be:

      DDG Gazzaniga
      Zabaleta Azpilicueta Chester Brown Kaboul
      Eriksen Mata Nasri Ramsey Johnson
      Aguero Rooney Suarez

        gerrard 2nd favourite is genuinely disgusting. he's been good, very good at times, but 2nd best player in the league, behave. 2nd best penalty taker in the league maybe

          lots of injuries this season, gerrard hasnt been, that will help.

          its just bookies odds tho, but they are normally right

          Joint second highest assists in the league too, proper assists, not FPL assists.

          He's not only been absolutely fantastic, he's been a real leader and captain throughout the season, you can't measure his season in penalties, though his detractors might.

            definitely not measuring it in penalties. just putting it out there that penalties are the reason he's 2nd favourite. i rate deep gerrard, just not as 2nd best player this season

              You have to remember that Ryan Giggs won this award in 2009. In other words, there is a lot of romance/lifetime achievement voting that occurs.

                I followed this market over the season, and Ramsey was second favourite at the time of his injury, and favourite for YPL.

          How can Hazard be shorter odds for Young PLayer than Sturridge yet longer odds overall? Must be factoring in winning YPL would hinder his chances of overall.

          Think it would be an inconceivable injustice not to give it to Suarez. Only criticism I could have is that he hasn't hurt Chelsea/City/Arsenal the same way he hurt the rest of the league, but that's relative to his own high standards.

          If Ramsey had played all season I think he would have won young player of the year. I'd be torn between Hazard and Sturridge for that one. Hazard has been unselfishly sublime but has slowed down of late, probably tired out. In terms of output Sturridge has to be in there.

          One thing is for sure, Gerrard has done plenty more than Giggs the year it was fixed for him to win, fair enough Gerrard might not be the best but neither was Giggs the year he won it... that was a joke

        Now that Hazard is out..

        1 - Save 4 pts and play Barkley
        2 - Hazard--->Mata + -4pts
        3 - Hazard---->Sterling/Gerrard + -4pts

          The silva lining to this is knowing ML toure owning opponents won't listen to city presser and will just assume flag is from mid week.
