The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 35

In our weekly attempt to get the better of Paddy, we turn to three of the current top six ahead of favourable games against a trio of relegation candidates. Once again, we look to the Scout Picks for inspiration and place our faith in a couple of in-form midfielders and City’s fit-again talisman as Manuel Pellegrini’s side attempt to recover from their disappointing home draw with Sunderland.

We get underway at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime, where Tottenham entertain London neighbours Fulham. Paddy are offering 6/1 on Christian Eriksen to score and Spurs to register a clean sheet. Given that the Dane has scored four times in as many matches, there’s every chance he’ll get amongst the goals against Felix Magath’s brittle backline – Spurs have been a little suspect at the back in recent matches but we’re happy to hand Paddy £3 of our kitty.

Next up, we target Liverpool’s trip to Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon as the visitors look for an eleventh successive victory. Paddy are offering 9/2 on Steven Gerrard to score and the Merseysiders to keep out their opponents. The Reds skipper has netted five times in his last four away games in a run that has seen Brendan Rodgers’ side deliver a couple of shut-outs and, with Norwich failing to score in each of their last three, we make this our favoured bet of the week and stick £4 on it.

Our final £3 is kept for Monday’s crucial clash at the Etihad. Having taken a single point from two matches in the previous Gameweek, City’s home game with West Brom is a must-win for Manuel Pellegrini’s charges. Paddy are willing to offer 9/2 on Sergio Aguero to score twice and City to keep out the Baggies. The Argentine has notched nine times in 10 home appearances this term and with City expected to attack from the first whistle to get their title bid back on track, we’re willing to part with our final £3 for this one.

is a front 8 of mata nasri eriksen ramsey sterling, suarez aguero ade (gunna be rooney next week) too much? like i'm worried that I might have too much money and too many points on the bench each week. but at the same time I have a feeling that all 8 of those could do well so I wouldn't want to drop someone from my team and then see them score well

It's a tricky one. You'd rarely play Sterling with the rest of your front 8 and you're bound to have points on your bench alot.

Considerin that apart from Chelsea and maybe United defenders there's no premium defense worth investing in id say it's fine. Sterling can be your slightly expensive bench fodder. might as well use all that cash that has been built up

well I'l have two chelsea plus smalling so reckon that's pretty good. i'm guessing you don't rate the city defense?

saw it and i then replied to your WC team post 🙂 .. Is smalling even nailed on? that whole manu backline is difficult to predict. I'd rather 3 city attackers depending on fitness so itd be better to keep a spot free incase silva, yaya come back fit for the DGW

cheers! not completely but I don't think anyone in the united backline is. think he's relatively nailed on and he's pretty cheap.

good point about 3 city attackers. I agree, just struggling to see how i'd squeeze one in without losing mata tbh

    Baines Coleman Azpilicueta (Dann Chester)
    Mata AJ Puncheon Mutch (Silva)
    Suarez Aguero Lukaku
    5.4 in the bank
    0 FT

Lost interest in Nasri and Eriksen in the past 5 mins 🙂 . Gonna be doing Puncheon to Ramsey for a hit either this week or next.. when should i do it though?
    A) Puncheon to Ramsey for a hit this week
    B) Keep Puncheon this week and swap him for Ramsey for a hit(lukaku to Rooney also) next week

My team is looking very average this week as you can see

Thanks for a few comments last page. May I give more details and ask for comment again?

    Silva - Gerrard - Eriksen - ??? - ???
    Aguero - Suarez - ???

Which one is better .. A or B or C ? Plan to have this from next week.

    a) Mata + Amalfi + Rooney ... double United attacks, but zero from Arsenal & Chelsea

    b) Mata + Salah or Schurrle + Giroud

    c) Mata + Ramsey + Adebayor ... still zero Chelsea attacks, but double Spurs
