The league’s top two dominate the upper echelons of this week’s Captain Poll as Man City and Liverpool prepare for very favourable home games against West Ham and Newcastle respectively. With both sides set to go on the attack, Luis Suarez, Edin Dzeko, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero are joined by Chelsea’s Eden Hazard ahead of a trip to relegated Cardiff:

We take the top five in this week’s Captain Poll as our starting point and construct a members table based around a number of their key statistics in order to flag up any other players offering a similar sort of threat in recent matches.

      Bizarrely, Fulham have only been shut out once at home this season (by Southampton). They always get beaten but they always manage to score.

    Worth doing Aguero --> Dzeko (-4) to cover?

    Both have Suarez and Rooney so also do Rooney --> Sturridge

    Ok so I like many of you are spewing after the debacle of GW37. 1.8m or so for the week dropped me from just outside the top 1000 to just outside the top 2000, and from 2nd to 5th in Nepal (before we get some of you on their high horse, we established last week that I live in Kathmandu so fair game for me to be in the Nepal league). More importantly however, my two cash leagues I had just about sewn up are now back in the balance. Went from 37 points clear in my main one, to only 9 ahead, and we'd have been level had big Yaya not scored and assisted in the last two minutes. So with my injuries it's firmly in the balance.

    Already set on Rooney out, but for Sturridge or Dzeko? Reckon Sturridge is the favourite at this stage but Dzeko bang on form. Here's my team if I go with Studge.

    Yaya(VC), Mata, Ramsey, Eriksen

    Bench: Harper, Ward, Chester, JWP

    Loathe to take a points hit and eat into my lead, but worried about his Zabaleta and Gerrard. Do I hold firm and hope Ramsey and Sturridge keep me in front?

        I think it's worth bearing in mind that Dzeko has been quite inhumanly accurate lately. 5 goals from 13 shots isn't sustainable really. And Studge will get 90 mins, whereas Dzeko could be hooked on 60.

      Agree about not taking a points hit and selling Rooney is the priority. Prefer Sturridge to Dzeko personally.

        Agreed. Nagging doubt about no points hit is that Evra, Mata, Ramsey and Aguero could all feasibly not play and I only have Ward as cover...

          My team's in a similar situation as I'm sure many others are. There isn't really anything that can be done without free transfers spare as these doubtful players all have the potential for a decent score this week.

          Ward gives you decent(ish) cover for one no show which could be sufficient or might not even be needed.

    I'm chasing 13 points, and my rival has Ramsey but not Mata.
