Paddy Power Special – 8/1 for England to Win, 7/1 for Draw, 6/1 for Italy to Win

After Holland’s stunning 5-1 rout of defending champions Spain last night, Paddy Power are rolling out a tempting offer for those yet to register an account. With Roy Hodgson’s England set to face Italy in the 11pm kick-off, our bookmaker mates are offering odds of 8/1 for the Three Lions to triumph, 7/1 for a draw or 6/1 on Cesare Prandelli’s troops to open their campaign with a victory:

Given that the regular odds are 2/1, 2/1 and 7/4 respectively, this is clearly another great offer from Paddy. Click here to get involved.

Those who already have an account with Paddy can still take advantage of a Money Back Special on offer. Paddy will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match as a free bet if Italy win – found out more here.

To clarify, the England v Italy enhanced odds special is limited to a £10 stake, open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified. New customers can only opt for one of the three offers.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    Play Rooney down the middle or not at all please Roy. Still don't understand why you'd play him out wide ahead of an energetic player like Sterling or Welbeck.

        It's just silly, Woy hypes him up ahead of the World Cup and plays him out of position, he's too lazy to play out wide and is nowhere near as effective as he would've been behind/alongside Sturridge. I feel a bit sorry for him really.

        Sterling is more effective on the counter than Rooney so I can understand playing him central against Italy, but there's no need to try and shoehorn in a luxury player like Rooney, it simply isn't worth it if he has minimal effect and doesn't track back.
        I'd definitely play Rooney in the hole in the next two games, with more possession and greater control he could easily be England's best player.

        I'd play this.

        Gerrard, Barkley;
        Welbeck, Rooney, Sterling;
        Sturridge.

        Providing Barkley is disciplined enough defensively he can really make the difference in the double pivot. He has that cutting edge when breaking forward which Henderson/Wilshere really lacked today. Sterling wide left to really exploit the second choice full back after Pereria's sending off against Costa Rica could pay off and allow Rooney to play in his favoured position

          Henderson played very well for me tonight and was a pointless exercise subbing him off. Kept the ball well and initiated attacks.

          Yeah Barkley can play there imo. He's so good at picking up the ball an driving forward and shooting from range which he can still do in that position.

          Rooney gives the ball away a bit too much when he's in the hole, didn't even think he was that bad tonight tbh. Some great pings.

          Baines jags Cahill Johnson

            I was quite frustrated with the midfield tonight, Gerrard and Henderson continuously recycled the ball from one side of the pitch to the other with no effect. Henderson In particular needs to show a bit more energy on the ball an be willing to take more risks, he played a bit too safe tonight for me.

    My view of Italy England

    England blew it!
    Sterling should have played v Chiellini, ie right of a 4-2-3-1.
    Despite Welbeck playing well-ish the four attackers didn't work
    Rooney plays up top, central, or not at all
    Lallana was robbed
    Baines can't defend

    This is a poor Italy squad, there for the taking. A win is a huge bonus for us

          No..The poster said that Baines can't defend..but he can. He may not be quite as good as Cole in that dept but he offers more than Cole in terms of threat going forward..or at least he does now...Very few LB's in the world have been better than Cole at defending over the last ten yeas but that's not the same as saying all the other LB's can't defend.
