Paddy Power Special – 4/1 for Germany to Win, 11/2 for Argentina to Win

As the minutes tick down until Germany take on Argentina in the 2014 World Cup Final, Paddy Power are rolling out another tempting offer for those yet to register an account. Ahead of this evening’s 8pm kick-off, our bookmaker mates are offering odds of 4/1 for Joachim Low’s side to triumph or 11/2 for Lionel Messi and co to deliver the win instead:

Given that the regular odds are 11/8 and 23/10 respectively, this is clearly another great offer from Paddy. Furthermore, if your chosen team loses, Paddy will refund your stake with a free bet. Click here to get involved.

Those who already have an account with Paddy can still take advantage of a Money Back Special on offer. Paddy will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match as a free bet if this World Cup knockout match ends in a penalty shootout – find out more here.

To clarify, the Germany v Argentina enhanced odds special is limited to a £10 stake, open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified . New customers can only opt for one of the two offers.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Took a bit of stick last year when I suggested the top of David Moyes's shopping list should have been Ron Vlaar.....I was wrong...he should have been at the top of LVG's shopping list instead. Really pleased he had a good tournament and stand by the comments...anybody agree ?

He was been fantastic. I dont think he is good enough to start for Man U in a back 4 though.

seen a couple of stories that he is considering a 3-4-3 system so he can play Rooney, RVP and Mata up top

I think its going to be a 4-3-3.

Van Gaal has used this system throughout his career including Barca, Bayern and Ajax - AND with Holland until the Spain game. The switch was in reaction to Spain (who were touted among the favourites with good reason) as he felt the 4-3-3 would take a beasting.

You can't go and switch back to 4-3-3 after a game like that so it stuck.

United will be him back to his normal philosophy IMO.

I thought the change was due to a combination of strootman's injury and their lack of defensive solidity

You are right, he would be a great addition to United's team and certainly improve their defence, but i hope we hang on to him. No Vlaar and we are stuffed... we are stuffed anyway, but you know what i mean.

haha, thats incredible. I remember doing a post around that time based on Villa's preseason and the VillaTalk forum and it was always going to be Okore - Vlaar at the heart. Baker vs Luna was up for discussion though.

I called it Luna and was proved right 😎

It started well at least... then came the injuries Tony Moon turned to shite.

I'm going to put it out there, I dont think United will make the top 4.

Poor defence, meh midfield, and up front a 31 year old injury prone, out of form striker, where only one of Rooney, Mata or Kagawa can play with him.

I think Everton will drop, but I fancy Liverpool and Spurs ahead of Man U. Poch is a great manager, and they have a good squad.

McDonalds. All of these dutch clean sheets have left me sitting pretty well. I need to sit two of the following, and pick a captain.

Hummels, Boateng, Rojo, Lahm, Kroos, Mascherano, Messi, Muller.

    Thoughts?

Mainly playing the percentages. I am assuming more people have Demi in their teams

That aside, ideally I should play Garay but really can't decide

Rate my first draft TFF team (similar scoring to FPL)

    Adrian
    Kolarov Trippier Debuchy
    Hazard Ramsey Eriksen Barkley
    RVP Sturridge Bony

    Is Kolarov too risky?
    Alternatives to Eriksen include Mirallas
Alternatives to Barkley include Snodgrass, Tadic, Arnautovic and A.Johnson.

    Cheers 🙂

Wouldn't go near Kolorov (simply based on starts)
Eriksen is excellent pick... Better (fantasy wise) then Mirallas
