Ultimate Fantasy Premier League – Fantasy Football Scout League Details

Last week saw the official launch of the new pay-to-play Ultimate Fantasy Premier League (UFPL) game for the season ahead. After taking part in the beta-phase in the final few months of the previous campaign, we’re keen to get involved again and plan to publish an in-depth guide over the next week or so, assessing the rule set and variety of strategies involved:

Costing £5 entry per team, the UFPL is a squad-based game that offers a cool £25,000 winner’s prize and a monthly prize of £1,000. For those unfamiliar, we’re essentially handed a budget of £160m to build our 25-man squads but, for each Gameweek, can only select an 18-man squad, leaving seven of our squad out in the cold.

The UFPL favours the more hands-on approach and affords us a “stick or twist” dilemma for every day of the Gameweek, which allows us the option of replacing poor performers with options off the bench – a concept familiar with those who played the FIFA McDonald’s World Cup 2014 or the UEFA Champions League games.

For those who are looking to get involved or have already began to tinker with their first drafts, we’ve set up the official Fantasy Football Scout league – to join, the code is 524-87.

I need help with defense a good bit.

    my team is:

    Myhill (Krul)
    Shaw, Cameron, Wisdom (Bruce, Vlaar)
    Tadic, Fabregas, Mata, Sanchez (albrighton)
    Costa Giroud, Dezko
    0.5 remaining

Wisdom/Bruce I am unsure of and would prefer one. I was thinking of downgrading Fabregas for someone like Barkely and put a Chelsea defender in but I rather avoid touching my midfield

That was my thinking in pickling Dzeko. Had Bony but in light of the injury I went for Dzeko. Any defensive alterations anybody would make?

But that's only really because I want to build my side assuming I need RVP. I will decide after the pre-season friendlies to see if RVP looks sharp and where Rooney plays.

Not quite. Pick the players who offer the most potential for scoring high with minimal risk of being duds.

For instance, I think Costa could end up scoring the most points, I however believe that he has a very high chance of failing. Under your system I buy him regardless.

Good defence..just fine..Vlaar scored some good pts even at Villa against those teams in the bottom half...he could be a great pick for 4.5 at Soton. Don't worry about the doubts over the 4.0 Wisdom pick..a playing 4.0 will soon emerge when the first injuries crop up even if Wisdom proves a non starter....

Cahill Rafael B. Davies Bruce Wisdom
Mata De Jong Arnautovic Sigurdsson Albrighton
    Aguero Rooney Costa

Midfield may seem weak, but fixtures are good.
Heard some Gamboa to WBA rumours, Wisdom no longer nailed on?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

Nice balance. I wouldn't have Aguero, that guy has serious problems and you're just gonna have to transfer him out after a few weeks. Also you need another big-hitter in midfield, a Chelsea or Arsenal player.

Cheers. I'm looking at Fabregas for De Jong, but feel the mid-priced midfielders can outscore the mid priced forwards this season. So don't really want downgrade a decent forward. Aguero is risky no doubt.

Willian and Ramires got much less game time so would be easier to start with them. Just speculation though, will have to wait and see how pre-season pans out.

    Boruc, 4m

    Terry, Vermaelen, Cameron, Mariappa, Wisdom

    Sanchez, Ramsey, Fab, Siggy, Albrighton

    Adebayor, Rooney, Dzeko

Very happy with this lot, comments appreciated.

    DDG Myhill
    Luis Vermaelen Mariappa Simpson Wisdom
    Hazard Ramsey Sigurdsson Shelvey Wanyama
    RVP Costa Dzeko

Really want to double up on United defense and I think Verm (if he moves) and DDG are the best options. Went for Luis over Cahill only because I needed the cash, still I'm confident he'll be nailed on. Mariappa (should be nailed on, if he isn't I'll find another pair) rotates with Simpson, and hopefully Wisdom will play, if he won't I'm not too concerned anyway considering that I'll have two 4.5m sure starters.

Think Costa is going to do more damage than Sanchez, so I went with Ramsey as Arsenal cover. Dzeko nailed on IMO after Negredo's injury. I think these the best 3 fantasy strikers you could have (considering prices and fixtures), so I only had 11.5m for two mid spots and I think Shelvey and Siggy are the best options.

      I agree.

I feel a lot more of Ward's BPS came from his offensive outputs & in turn, didn't result in bound points when CPL kept a CS.

Note: I'm soley basing this on the generalisation that CBs on the whole, received the lion's share of bouns points in a lower scoring CS.

I would be happy if someone found a game by game break down of Ward's FPL performances & proved me wrong as I'd love to own him.
