Just do Luis to Clyne now to be on the safe side, or better wait at the last price change moment possible?

No they don't, but they might be other players getting injured. Well only Chester I guess.

Many might disagree but if you look at play styles as well as history,

Sterling (c) vs man city is not that crazy

City were usually pretty solid at home and that became more so as the season went on. Don't expect many teams to score than 1 goal against them at home, if they score at all.

I could do that, but I am a bit of a stickler for perfection, so I prefer to order each formation line in terms of price first, then if they are priced the same, I go alphabetically...

It just gives me extra satisfaction doing it this way, so I don't mind spending a little extra time to do it, if it means I can be happy with the final outcome...

Not really, we already have the pitches set up already with a green background and to a certain size... so when I copy from Word, it makes the back ground white again, which just causes more work...

Looking back, I can see that I might have made the mistake in overlooking Sterling at his price given that I had this notion (whether it was right or wrong) that the 9m players were exceptional value...

Going with him from the start would have meant Ramsey as my only 9m...

            Sometimes price blinds you...

I'm completely the same. I tried to convince myself that he'd be cheaper in GW4 after a couple of tough fixtures, and the amount of hype around Mata in preseason made me feel like I couldn't go without him...

I guess at the end of the day we're at fault for overlooking him for GW1, I just hope Mata starts rewarding us soon and Sterling keeps quiet the next two weeks...

                Yeah, that's the plan...

Over the season Sterling will be in my team, but after forming a clear strategy for the first 5-6 weeks, it seems too jerky just to bring him in after he scored in a favourable match, (which was expected, just not desired) with two difficult ones to come...

It might be that he scores in the difficult games, then I got it completely wrong, but I'm gonna hold true to my original plan...

If Mata blanks this weekend then he's pretty much certain to lose 0.3, and a goal for Sterling will make him go up in price, so Sterling could potentially cost more than Mata next week. If this scenario happens then I'll probably cave in and get him in since I'd be getting him in a few weeks after that anyway...

That would be down to Lucas and Johnson.. Johnson on the left had to stop, open his body then look for the pass.. Lucas really sluggish and looks for a backwards or sideways pass. Much better once Allen came one

Can you play the fixtures too much?

Ive ended up with this for next 2 GWs in first XI

3 Swans - Taylor, soggy, Bony

    3 United - Ddg, Mata & Rooney

    3 Chelsea - terry, fab & costa

    I also have 2 arsenal.

    What do you think?

Too many eggs in same baskets or a good place to be?

      Go big or go home!

Similar to doubling up on defences, I suppose. a simple case of higher risk for higher reward on any given game week. If, as is the case with these teams, they have an abundance of good fixtures, it could be a big strategy, but still higher risk.

Another point with the change of pricing formula is that there could potentially be less lost transfers. Siggy for example would have gone up last night under the old rules, but a boat load of transfers would have been lost. Those transfers will now contribute to the next rise, even if the threshold is higher. Of course, transfers will still be lost and the net effect is difficult to model (even with the new formula). Nevertheless, I suspect that price rises will not be use muted as some people fear, although they will be smoothed.

    Thoughts?

JWP might take a few more corners than Tadic but I'll bet you ten of your best Euros that Tadic will outscore him significantly in every aspect this season.

JWP has potential and good delivery, Tadic has class and is used to being the go-to-guy in a team.

So this year the price changes are less volatile then last year. Ok good. Last year even without bothering I got 113m team value which was my record in so many years playing this game. FPL decided to go back to the basics like before 5 years when you needed double and triple transfers NTI in order to get double and triple rise. I thin it is fair..

Repost as it was lost at the bottom of the last page:

The simple, all-in-one guide to why Siggy did not go up in price last night:
    1. FPL adjusts the required transfers boundaries each year.
    2. TotalFPL and FISO don't know the changes and have to monitor early price changes to work out what is happening and what changes they need to make to their formulas.
    3. Siggy would have been the first double price rise using the best approximation of last year's formula, but...
    4. The formula appears to have changed fairly significantly for the second rise in a week*. We can have ideas about why, but...
    5. We won't get a clearer idea until someone does rise .2 in a week and...
    6. We won't be absolutely sure until there have been several .2 price rises.

*it's most likely to only apply within a Gameweek, but we can't be 100% certain yet.

Not directly related to Siggy but i would like to add-

The guys that didn't fall we're all flagged. Zarate dropped on about -107% and he has no flag. It suggests FISO and TotalFPL are within about 7% on unflagged drops.

Also, FISO were not predicting drops for those guys. They appear to be taking flags into account, but TotalFPL has calibrated for that yet it seems.

Before the season started my thought's were that Chelsea, Man U & Spurs would be the best defenses to invest in for clean sheets.

That still stands for Chelsea & Spurs but after the 1st game my confidence in Man U has waned some what.

I've already had to shift my Spurs cover as BDavies isn't a guaranteed starter but if Man U don't start looking better by the time I have a spare FT then I imagine I will be doing DDG > Lloris even with Man U's kind fixtures.

Question is would you be confident in playing Lloris in every game? More so than playing DDG every game?

Swans? Soton to line up something like this
      ---------Wanyama----------Schneiderlin
      Tadic------------JWP/Davis-------------Long/JWP
      ---------------Pelle

Tadic on fewer set pieces and out on the wing unfortunately. they are in the market for a new winger though so that may put him more central later

I just gave the most points to the players I have and the least to the players I'm scared of 😉

I think it could be fairly low scoring actually, neither team fully in their stride..

As long it's not 0-0 draw, I'll be happy. I've no ManC or Liverpool defense.

What did people think of the Saints defence the last day? 🙂

Did well to hold Liverpool for so long? Or let a weak Liverpool through twice?

Whole Saints defence did well but Yoshida. Overall I would say they did well. Standouts were: Wanyama, Schnederlin and Clyne that game defensively.

Didn't see the United match at the weekend but the avg position map is rubbish...Did United not fancy the idea of playing on the left side of the pitch ?...and looks like they were tripping up over each other in the middle..just a mess...http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/matches/755307/

united were pulled all out of shape - think it was the 3-5-2 with no real wing backs that caused the problem

Do I NEED to make any changes here or do I stick with what I have and let things play out for a couple more game weeks?

    Krul/ Foster
    Debuchy, Chester, P.Jones, Ward, Shawcross
    Young, Ramsey, Nasri, Siggy, Sterling
    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

    1mil ITB

    Was thinking :
    A) Nasri >>>> Fabs
    B) Jones >> Clyne
    C) Young >> JWP/Davies?

    Cheers.

You only NEED to make changes if any of those players are about to lose money or you are sure they won't play. Some players don't mind losing a bit of value but I think its a big problem at the start of the season.

Personally I'd do A) cos Fabs is better than Nasri and short term fixtures are more favourable.

Also something to be said for saving and having 2FTs next week.

Keep Giroud or shift to Bony/Dzeko?

Another option is to downgrade Giroud to Riviere to fund Costa to Aguero(c) for GW 3.

I'm not buying Bony yet, not convinced by him. Dzeko a better option, but I'd say Giroud is right up there with him, albeit a bit rusty. Save FT unless you can use it elsewhere.
