As always, our first members article of the week delves into the data from the previous batch of fixtures. This time around, the displays of Chelsea’s wide men, Liverpool’s lone forward, Southampton’s new playmaker and the Hammers’ attacking improvement all come under analysis.

Newcastle have great fixtures.. I reckon it's worth the risk doubling up and playing both for easy fixtures and just one for medium fixtures.

    Vaz Te.

West Ham fans, and anyone who has seen West ham play recently. What do you think?
I need to ship out Bojan before his price falls and he plays against city on the wing or just sits on the bench. I can afford up to 7.4, but tempted by the ultra budget man following this article and would free up big funds elsewhere...

As a West Ham fan Vaz Te was awful when I saw him first hand against Spurs, however he apparently improved against Palace. Should keep his place this weekend but Valencia, when he is fit, will force him out of the side.

Ah, see this is the problem with basing your logic on the basic stats presented above. Numbers can make anyone seem good or bad, and I might have got a bit over-excited.

Did anyone see him against palace? Worth bringing in simply to avoid the Bojan price drop?

Van Gaal is a famously stubborn individual and would be reluctant to change his approach so soon, but Di Maria's arrival means United have a squad perfectly suited to 4-3-1-2.

The question then, is simple. Why is he so keen to play a 3-4-1-2 at Manchester United?

Eriksen and Caulker will both drop this week, the latter tonight. Should I get rid of either tonight or hope their good stats translate into good points this week. With value so critical this year, is it worth the risk with either ?

    1. Sharkytect
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

It does seem important to get rid of players who are dropping, as more seem to drop than rise (I have seen many people write this, but have no facts to back this up).

I reckon get rid of Caulker, because Eriksen will get you points soon. He just will.

      1. Kerz
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

Get rid of Caulker even ahead of SUN, manu, STO in his next three? Those two home games are good chances to score... but if he blanks against SUN his value will shoot down...

Decisions, decisions, I guess they're what makes the game challenging though 😀

if caulker drops to near 4.5 after the international break im gonna pretend i just bought him in and keep him all season 🙂

Yeah, it's a tough one, but personally I just don't like relying on defenders to score to get points. I can't see QPR getting many clean sheets this season, if the spurs match if anything to go by.

    2. Valar(Keith)
      • 14 Years
      9 years, 8 months ago

Eriksen is one of those safe bet players for me.. will produce over the long term if not injured. Caulker is a player you got to play every week and hope for a goal. i consider him my 8th attacker and am tryin to do that but considerin ive average 1 point a game from him so far i find my logic flawed 🙂

      1. Kerz
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

Ha! Cheers mate, I'll probably keep Caulker as I want 2 FT for the int. break and a more pressing concern in my team is Dzeko IMO. Bad form, knock, and his main competitor for a spot is on fire...

Who is the best option long term?

      A. Huth
      B. Wilson
      C. Cameron

Please don't recommend a payer that is non-Stoke, my budget it 4.9

With many top end defenders not scoring and some good pricing for mid-table teams whom would make up your budget back 5 if you played a WC or decided to cash in on more expensive defenders?

I am thinking of bringing in Clyne, Taylor and Dier.

      Need some transfer advice
Have 2 FT's and no cash in the bank.

      Bego (Myhill)
      Cahill Debuchy Hutton Jones (Chambers)
      Mata Hazaard Siggy Ramsey (Albrighton)
      Rooney Costa (Bojan)

Obviously want to get Bojan and Chambers out of the team but also think that just making one transfer this week and having two going into the international break will be a big advantage.

      Option one:
Collocini for Chambers (who would play this week)

      Option two:
Bojan for Naismith/Berahino/Fletcher/Weiman (who would not play this week but would avoid inevitable Bojan price drop)

      Option three:
      Any combination of two transfers
This now becomes more relevant since the Giroud injury came to light. A mid price option like Sanogo/Campbell/Podolski/Reme could be an option.

Would really appreciate some opinion on this.

Ahhh I can't decide whether to keep Dzeko or go for Jovetic. The latter would allow me to upgrade Chambers to a 5.0 next week. Am really not sure whether Dzeko will start after reading all of those Pellegrini quotes saying how much he believes in Jovetic and that Jovetic can play with anyone, Dzeko, Aguero and Negredo.

This is the key dilemma of the week... Jove did look lively last night, excellent form, excellent stats. I'm not confident that Dzeko can keep his place for much longer, and he took a knock to boot. With Kun returning to full fitness, surely Dzeko would be the one to drop to the bench? What's even worse - Jove was brought in by Pelle, it's clear he has trust in him and rates him highly...

Exactly. I think I may just make the swap, Dzeko hasn't looked dangerous whatsoever these first 2 games. I just know he will score as soon as I take him out....

        Downgrade GKs / defence.

Bego to £4m for me and play Krul until Jan WC.
