The Treatment Table – Gameweek 3

With the first international break of the season already underway, we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Arsenal
Laurent Koscielny was withdrawn midway through the first-half of yesterday’s trip to Leicester after sustaining a head injury. Arsene Wenger reckons the Frenchman “should be alright” in a week, while the Gunners boss also revealed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (calf) and Mesut Ozil (ankle) picked up problems in the 1-1 stalemate.

Aston Villa
Skipper Ron Vlaar was subbed off due to a calf complaint in Villa’s win over Hull, Paul Lambert has confirmed.

Chelsea
Oscar was unavailable for the Blues’ trip to Everton in Saturday evening after being ruled out with an ankle problem. Eden Hazard has since pulled out of the Belgium squad with a “small injury”.

Crystal Palace
Marouane Chamakh is set to be sidelined for a month with the hamstring problem picked up during the weekend draw at Newcastle. Fellow forward Dwight Gayle was also withdrawn at St James’ Park after sustaining an ankle knock but is expected to be fit in time for Gameweek 4.

Everton
Similar to Chelsea’s Hazard, Romelu Lukaku has also withdrawn from international duties for Belgium due to a small injury.

Man City
Summer signing Fernando was subbed off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke with a groin problem, Manuel Pellegrini admitted post-match.

Man United
Initial reports suggested Juan Mata was replaced with three minutes remaining of United’s draw at Burnley with a hamstring problem. Louis van Gaal has since stated the Spaniard was withdrawn due to cramp. The Red Devils’ boss also confirmed Angel di Maria was subbed off as a precautionary measure after sustaining a knock on his calf.

Newcastle
Newcastle right-back Daryl Janmaat was withdrawn with just three minutes left of Saturday’s clash against Palace after picking up a knock.

Stoke
Peter Odemwingie was forced off with a knee problem just 20 minutes after appearing off the bench in the Potters’ win at City.

Tottenham
Danny Rose was withdrawn midway through the second-half of yesterday’s home loss to Liverpool with a leg problem.
