Brought this up last night as well, thought I should share with the DZ too

With Sturridge in line to be fit for the Merseyside derby, how is this for a subsequent run of fixtures:

    WBA,qpr,HUL,new,CHE,cpl,STO,lei,SUN

He'll be eased into action against Everton and Basel, should be good for WBA I reckon

I agree, but why not have the both of them? The best part is that Rooney's fixtures get difficult when he returns, straight swap for me

Costa, Kun, Welbeck, Pelle, Rooney/Falcao, Lukaku, Ulloa... No room I'm afraid when others are doing the business. He's really expensive and injury prone, add to that the fact they're in the CL... I'm staying away. Sterling is enough Pool for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Appreciate the thoughts Innsie, but I don't particularly agree with the term 'enough'. Liverpool are one of the most attacking teams in the league, and there is no harm in doubling up given the fixtures

Don't think your team needs him tbh ๐Ÿ™‚

I was going on about him in the previous week, but as was the case with Pelle, most stayed away. This time, however, not due to his ability but his fixtures (liv and mun to follow)

After a terrible GW my team is:

    Foster (Krul)
    Terry Clyne Chambers (Moore Jones*)
Di Maria Ramsey Sterling Siggy (Marney)
    Rooney Costa Naismith*

    1FT 1.2 ITB

Thinking I'll do Krul to Heaton next GW but for this GW either:

    A) Naismith to Ulloa and play Chambers (TOT) or Moore (cpl)
    B) Jones to PVA and Naismith to Welbeck (-4) (Will bench Chambers for next two GWs and play PVA (SWA and STO) and play Chambers thereafter
    C) Jones to Duff and Naismith to Pelle (-4) (Duffs next two are wba and lei)
    D) Jones to Duff and Naismith to Welbeck (-4) (leaving me with enough for Terry to Baines for GW 8)
    E) Save

Any help would be much appreciated

    1. Heels_Over_Head
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 7 months ago

      1) do not waste a transfer on a GK... just do not do it... it doesn't matter... it won't matter... unless you have 2FTs and nothing to do, do not use a transfer on a GK... the difference between the highest and lowest GKs who played full minutes last season was 20 total points over the season... it just doesn't matter

      2) A is fine and avoids a hit

      3) B, C & D are okay and well reasoned hits... like D the best if Baines doesn't rise too much before you can make the transfer

      1. The Dinkum Donuts
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking that in this case the GK transfer is worth it as Newcastle seem incapable of a CS and Burnley seem to have them in abundance. Yes I'm also leaning towards D because it also leaves me with enough to do Ramsey to Fabregas if need be

        1. Heels_Over_Head
          • 10 Years
          9 years, 7 months ago

          D works for me.

          Regarding GK:
          1) GKs that don't get CSs often do accumulate points from saves which is part of why the difference is minimal at season's end

          2) Newcastle are a team that runs hot and cold. They're never consistent in quality over an entire season. Would expect the tide to turn and Krul to show some resilience down the road.

          3) I just start a WBA keeper every week and won't think about it until the January WC (when one has to consider some teams will not play every week due to scheduling and you have to have two keepers), I've gotten two clean sheets in games in which someone rotating keepers would have benched Foster (at Southampton & at Tottenham). Currently, Guzan-Given or Heaton-Giks would have been a better choice than Foster-Myhill, but over the course of the season, they should all have approximately the same numbers.

Ozil could'should come good. Wenger loves him, have faith in him and he's yet to lose any minutes. But fantasy wise, it's better to stay away for now and turn to Ramsey instead since Ramsey is taking the shots and is usually better positioned in the final third.

Done with transfers for this week... next week's problem children are Moreno & Eriksen (both benched this week).

basically between these two choices over then next two weeks

    a) Moreno -> Chambers & Eriksen -> Hazard

    b) Moreno -> Chelsea defender, ManCity defender or Coleman & Eriksen -> Mirallas

Have Baines & Costa if that effects the choice.

Part of me still wants to stick it out with Eriksen, but he's not making it easy.

I'm not. Am familiar with how Martinez rotated last year.

He'll play 80% or more of games when healthy.

When he comes off the bench, he'll be motivated to score because of Martinez's policy that if you score one week, you're guaranteed to start the following week.

I carry eight quality attackers up front, so I don't mind having one coming off the bench.

doesn't matter if his team wins or loses, only matter if he scores fantasy points or not

he is instrumental now to most of united's scoring opportunities

      is he essential? no

is he going to score some points? yes

is he worth 9.8 in the context of your fantasy team? your choice

i now have both Ramsey and AdM

In the end, maybe Welbeck is the man to get he stays upfront even when Wally returns, and the midfield got rotated.

There will be injuries, so no hurry to think about this...and maybe many other alternatives, Wally, Sanchez, Özil etc.instead of Ramsey. Never thought would say this, but Ramsey is might be playing deeper...

    RMWCT
    Heaton/Bego
    Naylor/Clyne/Duff/Baines/Wilson
    ADM/Fab/Siggy/Sterling/Downing
    Costa/Pelle/Welbeck

Only thing that worries me is no Kun or other City coverage, might have to plan long-term to get him in...

Do Heaton / Giks & save yourself 1.0 to spend elsewhere... doesn't mean you have to spend it as everything else on your team looks fine for now except

Should have Chambers instead of Wilson for fixtures after GW8

See my two replies above about GKs (here http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/09/22/the-big-numbers-gameweek-5-4/?hc_page=19#hc_comment_8369405 and the one two down from it)

About Rooney...probably many of us face this same question...
I have no other pressing concerns currently in my team, so should I...
    A. Rooney to Pelle FT
    B. Rooney and Terry to Aquero and Naylor for a hit
    C. Rooney to Falcao FT
    D. Save the transfer...

Pelle vs QPR is tempting, fixtures and stats look good for him...Aquero could be explosive, but
a but worried about his minutes, fixtures look good...Falcao will come good, would be a punt and differential...views? If Rooney will be playing nro10, could actually continue producing points, doubts about it but still possible...on some corners, set pieces etc.

    views? Thanks!

    Thoughts on this team:

    Krul (Gilks)
    Wisdom - PVA - Ivanovic - Clyne - Caulker
    Hazard - Ramsay - Siggy - Stirling - Marney
    Rooney - Ulloa - Costa
    0.7m ITB.

    Traded Mata > Sterling
    and Naismith > Ulloa
    before the price drops/rises.

Any suggestions for the follow week or which defenders to play this weekend?
