I've 2.4m itb. saved for PvA ➡ Baines for GW 8. Despite those 3 players having tough fixtures I'm leaning towards saving my FT. If I do Zaha ➡ Downing then I can't buy Baines next GW. Is my team good enough to save FT?

No. Price protection comes into effect only when a player's Red flag status turns to normal after they are fit. Ramsey's price will fall.
