Absolute BS that he's risen. Nowhere near the required NTI. That's put a dampener on my good mood from begovic. Gonna struggle to get Sturridge in now because of that price rise.

couldn't care less about the UCL game. The system didn't log one of my subs so i lost 6 points and the whole moreno situation was an absolute joke as well

I didn't get affected by Moreno's will-he-wont-he assist situation, but loads of others did and so lost his points by subbing him out when they took his assist away (only to have it inserted again later). The site crashes are also a massive pain. It all just seems so amateurish compared to the FPL game. So many bugs and other shyte

yeah, its not worth any time really. I might check the site and make a sub or two but im not gonna plan anything, just do it totally off-the-cuff when looking at the players right there and then. If I do anything at all that is. Dead team walking!

Who's your replacement MRU? Frankly I dont see any I would be happy playing week in week out and not as 5th mid style. Don't forget he's still the highest scoring mid in the game at 6.6m. People all want to ditch Siggy after a blank or two. Nobody bats an eye at Fabregas or Ramsey (when fit) or others. Pricism I tell ya 😆

      1. tm245
        • 12 Years

Chadli would be the only one I would consider, and I am probably a few weeks away even from that.

Hmm not a bad idea if SIggy keeps blanking. Dont trust Tottenham too much either though.

Sold Ramsey three weeks ago and have the other eye on Fab ATM.

Chadli and Puncheon the two standout candidates for me. Januzaj would be perfect if he gets a runout and takes his chance.

        1. BeachBadger
          • 10 Years
          9 years, 7 months ago

Januz to risky even if he gets a run out. Nail down a spot and he'd prob be in my team. Chadli an interesting option too but I dont trust Tottenham at the minute. Would need a few Siggy blanks to sway me there. Puncheon I dont rate above Siggy.

I'd be more interested with a upgrade to Tadic or someone I feel, but then at the minute Siggy is better value than them.

          1. Not Irish
            • 10 Years
            9 years, 7 months ago

That's certainly the issue. Puncheon was great value last season though and looks to be finding form. Januzaj would be the bargain of the season were LVG to give him a proper run in the team.

TBH the more I think about it the more I'm leaning toward selling Fab first due to the value factor Siggy brings. A lot of this is fueled purely by wanting to break the template.

              • 10 Years

Im greatly considering dropping Fab cos it allows me to get Baines in. I think Baines will outscore Fab by himself til xmas 😆 But Fab has been consistent so far and it does seem a bit reckless.

Im mainly fuelled by resentment of sticking with a safe Ramsey on my WC when I was tempted by and should have brought in Di Maria. Made the switch too late 🙁 Reckon I'd be top 1k is I did

Just done some quick calculations and I reckon Baines's raw NTI, including wildcards, should have put him only about half way to a rise. The only explanation I can think of for tonight's price rise is that at least three-quarters of everybody who took him out in the last international break did so on a wildcard.

Curious to see what Chelsea supporters make of their defensive situation this season. Will Luis likely come in at some point. I feel I made a grave error swapping Terry for Mangala in my draft side. Not much I can do about it now, but should Luis look likely of coming in I will be onto him like a shot.

Good point. Just a look at the Dream Team shows what a crazy week its been. It happened last week as well, so maybe its a strong case for moving towards less template picks.

I'm hoping the Downing punt can come good for me this week as its really the first time I've strayed from the midfield template since getting rid of Coutinho and S. Davis in the first 2 gw's, and I'd really like to mix it up a bit more, since the last two weeks have shown that there are more ways than one to score well in FPL 🙂

lol in one of the most fortuitous cup runs in the history of mankind. It's not even as if Chelsea defended that well. Could've conceded bucket loads if not for the ridiculous run of luck.

You're right. It wasn't pure attacking football that enabled Chelsea to beat Napoli 4-1 after losing the first leg 3-1. It wasn't pure grit and determination that enabled Chelsea to beat Barca over two legs after having played with 10 men for 60 minutes at the Nou Camp. It wasn't teamwork or spirit that enabled Chelsea to beat Bayern in their backyard despite conceding a goal with 8 minutes to go. And it most definitely wasn't because of Ryan Bertrand. It was pure luck.

do it then..its like a cheaper version of baines+coleman.

double up seldom works for me though..so all the best but in theory it should work as soton can defend and both have attacking threats.

still i would say play both on a home game but bench one against tougher opposition..not warrant the never captain never bench status yet.

Same for me re double ups hence the hesitation but other options are poor imo making it look decent. Not seen anyone discuss it as an option here tho.

yeah agree. given the price of similar sub 5m def double soton is the best option. to spread the risk u can take a punt on jags if u cannot afford baines but everton is leaking atm.

only downside is u cannot get both tadic n pelle which i may do so ahead of their home games.

get in chambers and maybe moore too. would be a great back up if the double up is not doing well.

Those two carry enough of a threat going forward it's worth having both. I went cheap on my WC for Aldy instead of Clyne so had to triple up to get Clyne in. Still 12 points from 3 defenders will do.

    Begovic Foster

    Moses Downing Chadli Tadic Boyd
    Aguero Costa Sturridge

I'm leaning away from the expensive midfielders right now because there's so many cheaper options performing at the same level or better right now and won't be rotated out due to European football. The defense is virtually guaranteed to rack up points too.

Love the whole team but Downing! You really don't need an expensive team in general this year. Hell, Pelle for Aguero or Sturridge could do the job right now. I'm being cautious though since we're in 6 GWs in. Keeping the big names now seems safer.

      not a good team imo

GK: too much spend on GK

DEF: chambers could offer value at 2.5m cheaper than ivan..3 man rotation with moore n wisdom could provide u with similar points with much lower price

MID: no plan to get in any heavy hitter mid means u will have to take hits when they inevitably hit form.

ATT: pelle/welbeck much cheaper than sturridge..sturridge not yet fit sterling is a capable point getter..much cheaper
