Monitor – Dusan Tadic

Southampton’s displays under Ronald Koeman have been one of the success stories of 2014/15 so far. Few believed the Saints were capable of replicating last term’s eight-placed finish after a handful of their leading lights followed Mauricio Pochettino through the exit door but Koeman’s canny dealings in the transfer market have steered his side into third spot after seven rounds of fixtures.

Whilst Graziano Pelle has hit the ground running as a replacement for Rickie Lambert, fellow new boy Dusan Tadic has yet step out of Adam Lallana’s 2013/14 shadow. The latter served up 178 points in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game last year, courtesy of nine goals, nine assists and 20 bonus points, whereas Tadic – who arrived on the back of 28 goals and 29 assists in his two seasons with FC Twente – has mustered just a trio of assists so far.

With spot-kick and dead-ball duties in his favour, the Serbian playmaker certainly has the upcoming fixtures to improve. Home showdowns against Sunderland, Stoke and Leicester, allied with trips to Hull and Villa in the next five, look tailor-made for the 7.5-priced, 2%-owned midfielder to finally make an impact before the schedule takes a turn for the worse in Gameweek 13.

With that in mind, we compare Tadic’s displays to Lallana’s from last season and also cast an eye over his displays relative to this term’s main men in the midfield bracket.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

My transfer this week is likely to be Curtis Davies to Toby Alderweireld.

    Too boring?

2FTs. The question is do I downgrade falcao to welbe to upgrade a defender to baines/ivan?

Or keep falcao and do moreno to azpi and save?

    Forster (McCarthy)
    Moreno Naylor Clyne (Moore chambers)
    Siggy ADM Sterling Fabs (Boyd)
    Falcao Costa Pelle
    2FTs, 0.6

You think falcao will outscore welbeck?

Welbeck has some nice fixtures and is the only striker for ARS. On the downsie without ozil and rambo ars may struggle...

Falcao has che and city and gets subb off around 70min. Roo is edging gis return so the points will be split between several strikers..

Plus there is the price difference and ivan/baines are way more exciting than azpi..

falcao is a genius....keep calm and trust him.....he will be playing full 90 in the coming weeks.....no matter chelsea or city.
i adviced you azpi bcoz it was a straight transfer. but if you want to get in baines or ivanovic try somewhere else...maybe pelle....

Moreno to Azpi/Tomkins/Kaboul looks good. Then next week Falcao to Kun and raise the funds by downgrading Pelle to Welbeck, Fabs to Chadli/Tadic/Taylor or Naylor to 4.0m defender (Moore perhaps).

Already have chambers and he is suspended for next game. If you can bench him than not bad moves.
Struggling to find a defender for up to 4.8 to get aguero myself. Not sure I want to downgrade my defence anumore

you can check each player's stats and ranks on the PLAYERS tab, next to MATCHUPS

they don't really accumulate points the way FPL players do, it's all about beating your H2H weekly opponent and getting the best record you can. 🙂

Yeah, I found that page. But how is beating your H2H opponent determined? There must be some form of scoring.

                  9 scoring categories:

                  points
                  rebounds
                  assists
                  steals
                  blocks
                  turnovers
                  field goal percentage
                  free throw percentage
                  3 pointers made

                  there you go. 🙂

I found that too, but is it like 1 point per point/rebound/assist, 1 per steal/block, -2 per turnover, more points for higher shooting percentage etc or what?

No fecking idea what's going on 😆

let's say we're opponents for the week.

my players accumulated 151 rebounds whilst yours got 148 rebounds.

that's a win for me in the rebounding category. 1-0.

all about totals for the week. clearer now? 🙂

so weekly matchups would either be 8-1, 7-2, 6-3, etc.

always totals 9, unless you guys draw in a scoring category.

Sterling won't be rested again with Liverpool's current league position. Fabregas will push up upon Ramires return. I'd be reluctunt to lose either, but at a push, Fabregas and replace with Chelsea defender.

      A

Liverpool will start to play better with Sturridge back and this will help Sterling, can see similar scores for each 'pool player.

With Ramires back soon, Fabregas will hopefully be pushed up further and will outscore Chadli long-term.

        Cheers GK.

Look above. Think Sturridge can be explosive and can also offer a good armband option as well.

But then again I bought Sterling and Fabregas at the start of the season. So reluctant to lose them.

      B. Worried about Sterling game time and form, so Sturridge the better bet. But Sturridge means no Kun ....

I would say B. I am worried about Sterling fitness/gametime as well as the fact that since he's the second most popular player in the game, he's susceptible to a price drop should he be rested / blank for a few GWs in a row. Fabregas is also similarly heavily subscribed, and may make way for Hazard as the Chelsea midfielder of choice if Hazard hits the consistent goalscoring form of last season (as he looks like he's threatening to do).

Really struggling with choosing between these:

    a) Terry, Cambiasso
    b) Coloccini, Chadli

I'm bringing in Baines for either Terry or Coloccini, and the midfield choice is then decided by which swap I do.

RMT reckons B, but then I'll probably want a Chelsea defender again in a few weeks time.

    Aguero (c), Costa, Pelle

      I would do these swaps.

I'm guessing hardly play Boyd/albrighton anyway so it's really just

      Dier to baines

To afford Ivan/Baines/Aguero/Costa you have to make some sacrifices, this may be one the other could be Sterling>Chad/Pelle>Welbz.

Of course Hutton > Moore gives you the .1 as well if you got him early.

Cheers mate. I did consider those moves especially Sterling. I think Chadli & Welbeck are better options next week & they also have injury concerns even though they will probably play this week.

On wildcard pretty happy with what I've got except GK I'm looking at rotations to take me into January price not a big issue. Not keen on doubling up with defenders so some tweaking might be needed but defence is Baines, Azpilicueta, Clyne, Wisdom, Hutton. Thanks

      In same boat.

GK = Guzan [reasonable fixtures up to Xmas and Vlaar back soon]

DEF = Doubling up on Saints for 2 weeks then dropping Bertrand/Clyne for Ivanovic. Baines // Duff // Wisdom complete the rest.

Thats the predicament really with not doubling up. Villa (Hutton) offer me a cheaper option than the GK as do West Brom and Burnley and Leicester in Moore. So whichever two of those I plump for the other two I don't can come into consideration for a GK position as do the likes of Mannone, Krul etc.... where there isn't a cheaper defender. Just getting the best possible balance without wasting the money Mannone seems a save machine so he seems pretty set but he's not brilliant to rotate with. Fixture wise next few seem to suit Liverpool and Arsenal who I don't own in defence but neither inspire me with clean sheet potential

Hmmmm... hadn't considered him to be fair mainly because of how adventurous West Ham look this season but he does well for saves too. I shall have a look cheers

If money's not an issue you can consider Chesney. Great fixtures and you don't have any Arsenal defenders

    What's the latest on Chadli?

Thinking about using WC to improve defence. Current team:

    Krul (Foster)
    Moreno Clyne Rose (Naylor, Wisdom)
    Haz Sterling Chadli Sig (Wanyama)
    Costa Kun Ulloa

Already used my FT to bring in Chadli. 2.6 in the bank. Three options:

    A. Keep.
    B. Krul, Moreno, Rose > Guzan, Baines, Azpi
    C. Krul, Moreno, Rose, Ulloa > Guzan, Baines, Chambers, Wellbeck (playing Naylor as 3rd Defender next week then)

    What do you guys reckon?

Is Dzeko to Welbeck for free worth it or should I wait one more GW?

Either could score decent points this weekend, if I was going to bet, I'd say Welbeck is more likely, but it's not an urgent transfer.

Fab got QPR in GW 9 , so hold until GW10. Give Sterlign this GW to monitor form, else swap to one of Gerrard/Hendo/Lallana/Chadli/Eriksen/Silva/Mane

Yes. I have both and am considering Fab->Hazard; Sterling->Chadli; using excess funds to do Ulloa->Pelle possibly...all of this over the next 2/3 weeks

anchester United’s players are sleeping in special oxygen pods in between training sessions in an effort to speed up recovery times and reduce the threat of recurrent injuries. http://thetim.es/1oc0Mtp 😯

Chadli. Spurs playing City and Chadli possibly injured and partook in international games. Downing against Burnley and likely more fresh

Is Boyd the best option for guaranteed game time in the 4.5m midfielders range?

Wanyama is my other though, or Tiote.
