Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Saturday

With the impact of Sergio Aguero’s four-goal blast reverberating around the Fantasy Football community, we shift to the three o’clock kick-offs and await further points hauls.

How ironic that, on the day that Ageuro would draw level in the race for the Golden Boot, nine-goal Diego Costa is conspicuous by his absence. This time around the talk of injury concerns rang true as the Chelsea hitman is forced to sit out his side’s trip to Palace, triggering the Fantasy Premier League vice captain for many; for some, that meant that Aguero was on hand to sweeten the pill.

While Chelsea attempt to get by without their clinical striker, elsewhere, Fantasy managers will be monitoring events at the Emirates, Goodison and St Mary’s in anticipation of points.

Arsenal, with Danny Welbeck leading the line and Aaron Ramsey back on the bench, face a free-scoring Hull side in a clash that looks set to promise goals. On Merseyside, the Leighton Baines bandwagon prepares to start its motors when Villa pay visit, while down on the south coast, the likes of Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic will have the opportunity to boost their stock with the visit of Sunderland.

West Ham’s trip to Turf Moor and Leicester’s visit to Newcastle round off this afternoon’s action, with no late kick-off to see us out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        His pts can be covered with other Che players, Ivan, Fabs, Haza.

        Kun pts simply can not be matched by any City player right now. It is Kun or no City at all

    Surely sacked if I'm the owner. A manager losing the players is a lame duck.

          there were players whose heads dropped during the game when city smashed us a couple of seasons back. the board didn't sack fergie because he lost the players

          when you go 4 or 5 goals down some of the weaker minded players are going to give up. its inevitable. human nature

            That was Fergie's fault. We were outclassed by a top side. This was Southampton though. No excuse to lose in such a manner. Poyet is an awful manager.

              united didn't have an excuse either. united vs city is similar to sunderland vs soton.

              you mean the poyet that saved from relegation after di canio?

                Wickham saved them from relegation. Poyet lucked out.

                But no, at that point Fergie had cost us so in the transfer market that City were far better than us. It's not comparable.

                  soton had a much better transfer window than sunderland. their starting 11 is better than sunderland's also

                    But they're not a top side. There shouldn't be that great a difference between the two. Have you actually watched the highlights?

                      i know they are not... but they are a fair way better than sunderland. just like city were when they trashed united back then.

                      i watched the second half. players had lost all belief.

      Its an embarrassing result.

      But so was United losing 5-3 to Leicester when in front.

      The answer ain't always sack the manager. Though it would surprise me if they did they sacked Roy Keane and Martin O'Neill.

          The Leicester result isn't comparable at all, never mind all the controversy over the ref in that match.

          But yes, they've sacked far better managers for much less.

      Assuming that's current prices, how about;
      Chadli -> Boyd
      Vlaar -> Moore

      Which gives you the 2.5 you need for Wilson -> Baines, it leaves you with three 4.0s in defence but at least you have probably the best front three you can have + a few heavy hitters elsewhere

    Have to agree with the 2 separate callers and Savage (for once) on BBC 606 how its crazy Clyne is not starting for England in his recent form and constant games. Chambers in and out of team at different positions, jet Roy still choosing players based on what team you play for. England will never progress with this old mind set. (P.S Not just saying this because Clyne is our youth product) 😉
