The Big Numbers – Gameweek 11

As we brace ourselves for yet another international break, we turn to Saturday and Sunday’s fixtures and delve into the data in our first members article of the week. We assess Southampton’s chief creator and main frontman as the points start to dry up, cast an eye over Chelsea’s penalty box predator, Man City’s talismanic Argentine and Newcastle’s recent defensive displays as the clean sheets keep coming for Alan Pardew’s men.

Is it too kneejerky to drop Tadic for someone like Downing or Chadli? Don't have Pelle but do have Wanyama (as my bench mid).

    Hey all,

    Current squad of:

    Krul (Mannone)
    Chambers, Clyne, Dummett (Wisdom Saylor)
    Fabs, Sanchez, Downing, Siggy (Boyd)
    Costa, Kun, Pelle

Got 2.7m ITB, so is Chambers -> Baines a no brainer of is there something else I need to sort first?

67 points and a slight red arrow this week. Still 440, but suddenly a bit concerned about my midfield. What to do with this team?

    Foster/Krul
    Baines/Bertrand/Chambers/Wisdom/Naylor
    Sanchez/Fabregas/Tadic/Hazard/Marney
    Aguero/Welbeck/Berahino

    1FT, 0.1 ITB

I want to get Costa in, and I think the only way to do it is Hazard and Welbeck -> Downing and Costa. Thinking maybe save my FT and assess next week?

    Cheers.

No I've had Fab since the start, so I'm just short. I could do it if I also do Tadic -> Siggy, which I might look at with Saints' run.

Is there much between hazard and fab?
Hazard seems big point earner but inconsistent with it.
Fab seems a slow and steady point earner. If they were both to get the same amount of points this season, I would prefer fab purely on the basis he is worth starting every game week. But then hazard also takes pens. Who has a coin?

Best thing to do is go for Oscar. He puts up the points in exactly the games you expect him to score in, like clockwork. 9pts vs VIL, blank vs ARS, .... 13pts vs palace, blank vs united, ....10 pts vs QPR, blank vs liverpool...

Next 7 fixtures are amazing too: WBA sun TOT new HUL sto WHM

no need, you see how many shots hazard had on target this weekend but got blocked. Plus penalties. He will have double Fab's points by the end of the season... I hope.

I just got offered Falcao in exchange for Balotelli in my draft league... would you accept?

    - LVG has said that Falcao doesn't fit into the "balance" of his team, and he's also injured 2-3 weeks at least. I'm guessing his loan spell might be ended earlier than expected. Might still be worth the risk if things turn around though.

    - Balotelli hasn't been great, but he did have a nice looking partnership with Sturridge against Spurs that looked promising.

Seems mad not to make this trade, but its also madness to sell a starting Liverpool striker for one that is injured and could leave United soon.

    What would you do?! 🙂

    Hi Guys!

After taking the lead in my leage early on, I have lost out a bit over the last few gameweeks.
So, something has to happened! Time to show you excellent pundits some trust, and perhaps you can give me some tips on what to improve on my team.

    Krul - Mannonne
    Baines - Wisdom - Duff - Naylor - Hutton
Tadic - Di Maria - Sterling - Fabregas
    Berahino - Costa - Pelle

Costa is yet to be booked in any of his 6 home games for club and country this season.

    In away games...

    4 Premier League Games - 4 bookings
    2 European Qualifiers - 2 bookings
    2 Champions League Games - 0 bookings

Probably something to do with needing to compete in a more physical way away from home.

I guess we can expect a suspension for the Spurs home game then 😉

When I was with the lads on Saturday, I suddenly noticed the small niggles he got involved in, as well as the reckless shoulder charges.

He'd have loved to have played in the 70's.

Nah, the way he behaves at times id be betting on him picking up the suspension (or even a red) sooner rather than later.

Well, I'm only giving him one game without a card there!

      Yes, I'd say so

Aguero, Costa and one of Pelle/Berahino/Sakho seems the way forward

I don't think anyone is truly essential, but he's about as close as it gets.

This, i remember When rvp scored 30 or so goals, i didn't have Him. It was a torture everytime waiting for him to blank. Well, he didn't blank Many times then. Now when i have both aguero and costa, this game is much more enjoyable..

    Good morning.

What do you think about these choices to get Costa?

    A: Sell Pelle + Fab -> Costa + Chadli
B: Sell Welbeck + Di Maria -> Costa + Downing
    C: Keep all MF ... Sell Pelle + Welbeck + Clyne -> Costa + Austin + Yun

    Team now with 1FT & 0.0 ITB
    Forster - McCarthy
    Clyne - Chambers - Naylor - Moore - Baines
Siggy - Sanchez - Fabregas - Di Maria - Boyd
    Pelle - Welbeck - Aguero

I still prefer Sakho over Austin.

Me too, even though I wouldn't have either of them.
Can't really see why anybody would want a QPR striker.

I see Moore played 37mins for Leicester -- does anyone know if this was tactical or injury related? Trying to figure out if he might start next GW. Third defender slot really a problem but don't want to waste transfers at the back at this stage...

De Laet was being ripped apart by Mane is what most people suggested

Maybe ditching Ovan before a run of god fixtures might be a bad idea but I do think its a decent way of getting Aguero

I can't wait for 15 Dec until 1 Jan, 5 games in 14 days. Although I usually do worse then rivals that go on leave and leave their teams unattended.
