Right, must have watched Soldado running around wearing a Kane jersey, missed a sitter and insisted on taking a free in an excellent position only to boot it into the wall. He was terrible.

Young, I'll accept and room to improve but he was useless.

90 mins to judge a player.

It sounds weird but missing a sitter is not the worst thing - you judge a player by the number of shots in dangerous positions they are able to get off and Kane is doing very well on those counts because actual goals are random and can overperform or underperform over even a season (yaya vs suarez in his first season)

Unfortunately that's not my thought process - just the hiring team of every club.

If you really want to judge a striker it is about overall contribution, not necessarily shots. Kane, a number of times, made very incorrect decisions on the ball. Great example is a counter attack they had in which Chadli makes a lovely move for him. Ignoring the run, Kane keeps on running until hemmed in by 3 defenders and has to turn around, play it to Mason and see that the Stoke defence had regained shape.

If I wind up being wrong about him I'll gladly accept it, I do believe in admitting error but as of now, I cannot see how he will be anything big for Spurs.

Honestly if you really want to judge a striker than it is perhaps more than 90 mins.

While this maybe overdoing a bit - his numbers are through the roof.

I'm basing it on more than 90 it's just this weekend was a perfect example of that.

As for these stats, they contradict your argument as they compare him in a tiny amount of time to other strikers with a lot more minutes.

Second of all, stats give no indication of quality of shots or passes, they give the location of shots (the so called danger zone) but I've seen plenty of woeful attempts at goal from in this area. A similar point could be made about assists.

And perhaps the most salient stats are these, in 830 total minutes played in the premiership so far in his career, he has scored 4 goals and received 1 assist.

    Forster (McCarthy)
    Bardsley Naylor Coloccini (Wisdom Hutton)

    Ideas on this lot?

    Elliot ᵍᵏ Krul
    Moore ᵈ Duff ᵈ Baines ᵈ Clyne ᵈ Chester
Hazard ᵐ Di María ᵐ Sánchez ᵐ Albrighton ᵐ Sigurdsson
Sakho ᶠ Pellè ᶠ Diego Costa

2 FT, £1.5m in the bank.

You need Aguero, wouldn't make any transfers until the end of the international games as he may get injured. It is hard to lose either di Maria or Hazard with those fixures, but I think I would downgrade AdM.

Seeing a lot of ppl dismiss Oscar on here and i'm not sure why. Over the last 6 fixtures he's scored 37 points and has created more chances and taken more shots than Hazard. Plays in the no. 10 position so is always in an area where he could score. Sure he's upped his defensive game this season.. but that's the reason he is now a regular and there's no need to drop him for tough away games. He is a goal scorer too.. 3 goals and an assist in the last 6 and can see him scoring plenty more over the next run of fixtures. Whether he is worth the price over Siggy/Chadli is debatable.. but right now he looks a very good option especially with the suspension threat hanging over Fabregas and Hazard flattering to decieve

      • 10 Years

Yea he looked very bright against Liverpool too.

He is one of those players, possibly even more so than Hazard, that it is impossible to judge what way his returns will go. Love owning him when he is getting the points, absolute horror show when he isn't.

    Clyne>Baines
    Pelle>Austin
    Fab>Sanchez

for -4, leaves 1.6 ITB and keeps my WC intact..

    current team is..

    Krul Foster
    Clyne Chambers Bertrand Wisdom Hutton
    Downing Siggy ADM Fab Boyd
    Aguero Pelle Costa

Tempted to delay til next week and just do Baines for now, but another week without Sanchez could hurt

With Barkley and Coleman strong dribblers, Eto'o experience and Lukaku's penchant for jammy calls...I think we're seeing only the tip of the ice berg mate.

    Surgeons needed:

    Krul/Mannone

    Baines/Chambers/Aziplili/Wilson/Hutton
    Hazard/Siggy/Schneiderlin/ADM/Downing
    Auguero/Pelle/Wellbeck

    1FT, 0.1ITB

Would Pelle, Welbeck and Schneiderlin OUT for Costa, Austin and Boyd for -8 be insane?

    Bego

    Baines - Moore - Clyne ( Taylor & Rafeal 🙁 )

    ADM - FAB - Sanchez - Dowing - Siggy

    Costa - Pelle - ( Berahino )

What to to do to get Aguero ??

    A- ADM & Pelle > Aguero for - 4 pts

B- Bearhino > Austin and bench Dowing or Siggy for free

    C- Save FT

    D- ADM & Dowing & Pelle > Chadli & 4. 3 M mid player & Aguero for -8
