I would do Krul/Pelle -> Given/Costa. I'm looking to move Tadic as well, but don't see many great alternatives. Two keepers can be nice, but Newcastle has some difficult fixtures coming up.

    Team is:
    Guzan, McCarthy
    Baines, Chambers, Yun, Duff, Moore
    ADM, Fab, Sanchez, Siggy, Boyd
    Aguero, Costa, Austin

    0.9 bank, 1ft

    Should I do:
    A) Fab to Hazard, or
    B) Moore to Naylor

    Feedback greatly appreciated!

Would you WC this team? I have Welbeck, Chadli, Baines, Chester, Wilson all that I potentially need to get rid of?

    Krul
    Chambers - Baines - Naylor
    Oscar - Siggy - Sanchez - Chadli
    Aguero - Costa - Welbeck

    Foster - Wanyama - Chester - Wilson

    Guzan Eliot

    Time to WC to this?

    Guzan Eliot

Looking into FPL history, has there ever been a budget forward who plays for a relegation team that did well FPL-wise? I feel that when this is the case, even when the forward hits some form, his team always pulls him out of form sooner or later when they go on a winless streak of 8-10 games which always happens at some time to relegation battlers. This applies more to forwards because they mainly get points from goals.

Only Lukaku and Odemwengie over the past few years come to mind for consistent performers over the whole season. However WBA finished 8th and 11th when Lukaku and Odemwengie delivered so that doesn't make WBA a relegation battler.

I am trying to decide if it is ever a good idea to own someone like Austin,Ulloa,Ings etc. I would only own someone like that for a DGW maybe or a 1 week punt before a WC but never for the long term (3-4 GWs is long term).

    Any thoughts?

What I mean by relegation battlers is their status during the season and you can tell that after the first 10 games. I am not talking about expectations before the season starts.

Anyway, I think the point you are missing is that their lower price afford them a few off weeks.

The higher priced players need to deliver cosistently to justify their prices. The 6-7 mil players just need a goal or assist every now and then to tick them over.

But once they fall out of form, they become dead wood in your team. A long streak of 1s and 2s and with only 3 forward slots, you don't want to waste one. You have to replace them with another budget forward on form or downgrade somewhere else to upgrade them which seems like a waste of transfers to me. You have to be really lucky to get them at the right time and ditch them at the right time for someone else who hits form at the same time. I would consider it with a midfielder but no a forward.

I always look at the cheap 3rd spot as a way to free cash. Never expect too much from them. So i would not really call them a flop either. If u want more guarantee get bony or even rooney..those are higher value for a reason

I'm quite surprised at how tight the overall table is. I've only moved about 60 places in the last 4 weeks. This week I was just one point above the average score and I think I just dropped 5 places. So many teams must be so similar. Think ill have to go for a captain punt this week.

I'm also starting to wonder if we can quite easily go without Costa this season. Bony seems a real viable option. I also don't understand the rush in ridden our teams of attacking Southampton talent. City, arsenal and United are as weak at the back as almost any other team in the league at the moment.

Currently 120th. Was at 60th a few weeks ago. I know with the team I have that playing it safe with Aguero or costa as captain will keep me up there in the mix but a punt like fab or Austin could really give me a shift up the table

The villa match does not give me confidence in keeping pelle.

Costa can be replaced its just that its hard to find a consistent 6pts performer as him yet..most are just punts instead of guarantee..which leave u thinking whether u can use the spare cash to get more pts. And of cos costa could explode. Personally i would think if u use the cash on a better defender i would rather stick with costa

    Team is

    krul mccarthy
    Dummett Alderweireld Baines naylor chambers
    Siggy downing fab hazard ADM
    Kun Perez Pelle

    Struggling with a number options

Bony/Boyd in for Downing/Pelle is one option
    Bony/Caulker in for Alder/Pelle

Think these would be less of a mess to the teams balance but I am keen on Rooney for a couple gws as he does score in batches and is in a purple patch

Kun to Rooney and Pelle to Bony perhaps? (but removing Kun madness right?)
Or Pelle to Rooney and Fab to a midfielder under 7.4m

Then there is the costa factor. Him for Pelle and Fab out for maybe Valencia as a punt!

Never set up with a back 4. I'd start downing and see what happens. McNair would be a decent sub to come in if needed.

      1. Jonny Sutt
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 5 months ago

If I don't start McNair against hull at home surely there is no point having him. What is the problem with a back 4?

        1. Zat Knight Rises
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 5 months ago

I'll be honest, there isn't much point in owning McNair. Will likely lose his place very shortly.
Problem worth back 4: the likes of McNair will score a max of 6 points. Only 4 points more than a blanking mid. Every team in the premier league is susceptible to losing a goal to every other team in the league even if its top v bottom. A mid, like downing, will gan a high singles, double point if he gains an assist or goal. So the potential for points is far higher and the potential for any team gaining a clean sheet is low

Chambers will get that 5th YC very soon. If you got Clyne early on, keep him and rotate him. They will get 2-3 CS in that tough run of fixtures and Clyne gets attacking returns as well. If you won't lose value losing him, get rid but not this week.

This. I got him from the start. By the looks of it, I can bench him in GW14 (play Wisdom [WHU]) and GW15 (play Hutton [LEI]). I can still play hm in those fixtures though, becasue of his attacking potential.

Thanks guys. Got Clyne from the start, so losing 0.4 on him.
Getting possible attacking points out of him, would probably mean that I have to play him everyweek and not very keen on that.

Its not too much Swansea for the next 2 GWs. You can sell one of them after that if they haven't lived up to expectation.

I'd do the soggy transfer first. Doing both wouldn't be a terrible idea but I actually fancy pelle to get something I next few games

about as shit as expected. Was ready for a red and ended up dropping about 1k.
Not sure yet. The costa question still has me confuddled. Bony has my attention though.
        Hows about you mate?

    My team is currently:

    Foster,

Bertrand, Dummet, N. Taylor, Chester and Hutton.

Sanchez, ADM, Siggy, Chadli and Boyd

    Aguero, Costa and Pelle.

    I have 2 FT and 0.6m ITB.

    Should I:

    Chester and Pelle out
    Ivanovic and Austin in?

    Other suggestions are very welcome.

Sounds good to me. You maybe have the luxury of waiting till after midweek games before pulling the trigger as prices may not change for the players involved

Anyone else fancy Heaton for a 3 week run in place of Forster? He has AVL, NEW, qpr.

    I think I like it!

yes not a bad idea, will also play Heaton during those games (but I have an easier decision: my second GK is Gilks 😉
Anyway, Heaton over Forster sounds good, but don't expect this will give you a huge green arrow 😉

Would you rather have Costa or ADM?

I see a lot of people with something like HAZ-ADM-Sanchez-Downing-Siggy mid and I have to say it looks good.... But with Baines Costa Aguero too it is impossible...

It is obvious... its just ADM is probably a better player than Costa, and is arguably the focal point of UTD whereas at Chelsea they seem to be splitting the points a lot and Costa not many BPS....
ADM could outscore him, PLUS there are some good mid priced FWs to downgrade Costa to.

(I have Costa over ADM 🙂

It's quite feasible with a half decent tv but the rest of your team will be non existent or possibly non playing,

I'd have taken a 30 place agreen at start of play but it's disappointing dropping 130 places even with Bert yesterday. Too many damn subs.

    How is everyone else doing?

I'm thinking about drafting a team next year and then abandoning it. The high score for the week seems to be just that just about every other week. Shows how much luck is involved in this game.

Yeah this game weeks high scorer was a GW rank of 2.5m last week. Same team.

    Morning from Geneve DZ..

Did my FT already leaving me with:

    Krul,
    Baines, Clyne, Dummett,
    Hazard, Sanchez, Siggy, Downing,
    Costa (c), KUN, Austin,

    Mannone, Boyd, Wisdom, Moore, 1.1ITB

    1) Costa (C)
    2) Should I take a -4 to do Clyne to Terry/Azpili for long term gain?

    Thx

With a GW rank of 2,426,502 , this is officially my worst week ever. Only way is up I guess.

Don't want to take any drastic calls hence asking:

    Tadic+Costa -> Hazza+Bony. Yay or Nay?

Will give me funds to do Clyne -> Azpi in GW14 as well.

As has been mentioned above, the team who is ranked no1 this week was 2.5 million the week before. He kept the same team so....
