This week’s ScoutCast is a throwback – a return to the days when Granville moaned about his team of red flags and names like Robin van Persie and Yaya Toure dominated our thinking.

Granville and I slip into such subject matter like it’s a pair of old slippers, whilst assessing the Aguero fall-out, the Dzeko option, Ivanovic versus “Dave” Azpi and how I’ve modelled my Fantasy Football management style on Roy Hodgson.

We roll out the regulars and lament the demise of the ScoutCast team – eliminated in the opening round of our own cup competition. Some things never change.

    I have gone Aguero to Lukaku leaving me with 4.5. I have no goalie atm but also have Smalling and Chambers to deal with first.
    Clichy or Zabaleta for Smalling?

    There seems to be not a lot of love for Chambers. Surely he will be able to play next round? I think i need to trade Smalling first.

    I will see how Yaya, Nasri, Ramsey and Silva go this week to see which mid I upgrade ( Siggy and Waynama).

    Any comments or insights?

    My bank balance is bulging thanks to Aguero and I have enough to upgrade Chambers to any defender.

    Is Baines still a no brainer as number one defender in the game or should I be considering someone in Chelsea or City?

      Hull are second bottom of the form table and have been very poor for most of 2014. I see no reason why Chelsea shouldn't win comfortably without Fab.

      Very little. Putting more weight on what a player did last season, than what he did last gameweek is just crazy.

        I (c) aguero for his haul against spurs based on his prior performances against spurs. Folk on here were touting Rooney v hull for the same reason.
        But I agree - a lot less emphasis than on current form.

      Depends. Drogba has a gd record against arsenal becos their defenders are not physical enough..and this advantage always hold for drogba.

      If the opposition undergoes a change in manager(pulis to palace for eg) or a squad overhaul..then records place little meaning. U are effectively playing against a different team.

      Most important is current form though...the liverpool torres bully vidic with his pace..but never get to do it again in chelsea.

      I am not a huge fan of picking Downing but on this occasion it maybe for the best. Chadli to Downing could work. You do need a stronger 4th midfielder.
