Fantasy Indian Premier League 2015

After the fun and frenzy of the cricket World Cup, I present to you the Fantasy IPL 2015. The tournament gets under way on the 8th of April and cricket and Fantasy sports fans in general can register for the Fantasy IPL game here. Upon doing so, you’ll be sent a verification email which you must click on to complete registration and create your team. Below is a list of the rules, including how scoring and transfers work, and at the end, you can find the code to join the FFScout league for the Fantasy IPL game.

THE RULES

SELECTING AN XI:

For Tournament Mode and Match Mode, you have 1 million Credits to build a squad of 11 players. Each player has been assigned roles (batsman, all-rounder, wicket keeper, bowler), and a price (ranging from 60,000 Credits to 110,000 Credits).

    • Squad Balance:
    • four or five batsmen.
    • At least one all-rounder.
    • Exactly one wicket keeper (you can pick variable role wicket keepers as batsmen)
    • At least two bowlers.
  • Team Spread: Not more than six players from any one ICC Cricket World Cup team.
  • Overseas Limit: You can pick a maximum of four overseas players in your squad.
  • Uncapped Quota: Your squad must have at least one uncapped player. An uncapped player is an Indian cricketer who has not played in any ODIs, Tests or T20 Internationals.
  • Once you have selected a squad, you can pick any one player from your XI to be the Power Player. Your Power Player earns you double points, so he can make a big difference to your score. Your XI will start earning points from the next match.
  • Remember, for Match Mode, you need to select a new XI for each match. You have to select your squad, and choose your Power Player before the first ball of a match is bowled. Winners will be declared for each match based on the points scored.

SCORING

Batting Points

  • Base Score: 1 point per run.
  • Impact Score: 2 points per six, -5 for a duck.
  • Milestone Bonus: 10 points for every 25 runs scored.
  • Pace Bonus: Runs Scored – Balls faced.

Bowling Points

  • Base Score: 20 points per wicket.
  • Impact Score: 1 point per dot ball, 20 points for a maiden over.

Fielding Points

  • Catch: 10 points.
  • Stumping: 15 points.
  • Direct Hit: 15 points.
  • Run Out: 10 points for each player involved.

Bonus Points

  • Player of the Match: 25 points.
  • Victory bonus: 5 points for victory in League Stage. 10 points for victory in Playoffs.
  • Milestone Bonus: 10 pointsfor the 2nd wicket, 10 points for each subsequent wicket.
  • Pace Bonus: 1.5 x Balls – Runs conceded. If it is positive, it is doubled.

CHANGING YOUR SQUAD

Substitutions

Before the tournament: Unlimited subs.

Match 1 to Match 56: 75 subs.

After Match 56 and before Qualifier 1: Unlimited subs.
Qualifier 1 to Final: 10 subs.

LOCK IN, POWER PLAYER & UNCAPPED SUBS

  • Teams are locked when the first ball of a match is bowled.
Changes made after the first ball of a match is bowled will not affect points earned in that match. So if you drop a player after the first ball of the match is bowled, he’ll still earn points for you in that match.
  • For the Daily Challenge, you can make unlimited substitutions till the first ball of the first match of the day is bowled. You cannot make any changes to your squad for that day after the first ball of the day is bowled.
  • You can change your Power Player as many times as you want. So remember to change it for every match.
  • Every match, you can bring in one uncapped player into the squad without it counting as a substitution. So, picking an uncapped player for each match is a great strategy.

STEALTH MODE

Every hotly contested league has a few crucial matches, when you’re making critical substitutions and trying to earn as many points as possible. In such cases, hiding your squad changes from opponents adds a massive strategic advantage.

Stealth Mode is a feature that lets you do exactly that. You can activate Stealth Mode in the Confirm Substitutions panel in the Change Squad page.

Once activated, other users will not be able to see your current squad. Instead, when they visit your page, they will see the squad and updated time for the previous match. There will be no indication that you are in Stealth Mode, it will simply look like you’ve made no changes since the previous match.

If you are in Stealth Mode, you can make any number of changes and none of them will be visible. Your new squad is revealed only after the next lock-in.

You can activate Stealth Mode for any five matches of your choice, from Match 2 onwards.

SCHEDULED SUBSTITUTIONS

There may be days on which you are unable to make substitutions because you may be travelling, stuck in a meeting or stranded on a desert island. In such situations, scheduling your substitutions beforehand is a big relief.

The Scheduled Substitutions feature lets you schedule changes one match in advance, by clicking on the “Schedule Substitutions” link on your home page. You can also review or cancel scheduled subs from your homepage.

You can only schedule subs for the match after the next one. So if the next match is Match 5, you can schedule squad changes for Match 6.

All Scheduled Substitutions for a match will be automatically performed after the lock-in of the previous match.

Warning: If you have subs scheduled for a match, you cannot make changes to your squad unless you cancel those scheduled subs.

You can also choose to activate Stealth Mode along with your Scheduled Substitutions.

The Scheduled Substitutions feature can be used any number of times.

In Match Mode, you choose a new squad for each match. You can make unlimited changes to this squad and the Power Player till the first ball of the match is bowled.

The code to join the FFS league is 17538.

I’d be happy to help with potential starting elevens and if you need help scouting Indian players.

20:40 Local: The rain has sadly returned. It's only a light shower, but the covers are back on and more are slowly being added. This could be one of those days of frustration.

I want Giroud, means downgrading Haz (possibly to Adam)
I also need to lose Aguero, Benteke or Vardy
My ML rival is 11 points behind with Aguero and Benteke

Any tips? This guy was 69 points behind 2weeks ago and I'm panicking!!

21:10 Local: Sadly, the flippers are definitely needed, although if you have a canoe, you might well need that soon. In short, it's still persistently raining, and we've started losing overs.

I really like Warner. I think he's gonna come out swinging. The 3rd over makes Starc a good option, but just Warner of those two for me. I'm going the gamble with Henriques. Comes in 3rd, will prob get two overs. AB a great option chasing as well!

Yep. Thats why this game is such a good one. So many options both to pick and to PP. Really hope this gets fully played. Henriques i will stick with, i like a gamble. Same here.

If RCB win this, most teams will still be able to catch them. They'll need a win to get top 2 as well. Nehra prob, not sure on Hus.

I think they would. Also think it's on today's result. If SRH win they are on the same points with KKR 1 behind. If RCB win i think they are more likely to play him. Don't think he'd replace someone down the order? Maybe a Negi, maybe even Raina who's been suspect.

KXIP win the toss & bat first.

Think i'll have 5 in this one, already have Dhoni & Negi, Bravo also coming in.

Have to decide between Miller & McCullum(with Hussey in for Dr.Smith) as well as Sandeep vs Anureet vs Vohra.

Should get over 800 with Watto confirmed MOTM now. 8/10 of the teams around me had around 800pts too, we're closing on you.

Congratulations. I love how 1 game can change everything. Yep. Told you it was a weak start to the weekend! Mind you 400pts from 4 isn't too bad, just not in your league. Hopefully make it up tm. I know you lot with subs will have a few too.

    Here's what I'm thinking...

1st Match. Stock up on the top two teams. 4 from each. We know they will play 2 games each. 1 possibly 3. 8 playing.
2nd Match. You'll have 3 from this already, so make 2 subs and a freebie (from winners of match 1) to get 6.
3rd match. 4 from loser of match 1. 3 winners of match 2. Then 3 subs plus freebie giving 11.
4th Match. 5 min through from match 3. 5 subs plus freebie will give you 11.
Total of 36 players (of 44 max) across 4 games using 10 subs.

Now i understand that there will prob be overseas, squad and price issues along the way, but what do you think of the idea? I’ve used worst case scenario but if you do better you may have a sub or two left which can be annoying. Personally I prefer to have 11 playing the final then try and fit them in earlier. Any tweaks or recommendations gratefully received.

Looks good, but as you said it all really depends on overseas players and pricing restrictions. I'll look into my strategy once the top 2/4 are decided.

Yeah i just wanted an idea/framework in place. Then once the positions are all decided we have unlimited free subs so i can run it through and see if it works and adjust as necessary.

      Great plan BR.

The pain is that CSK is a minefield, nobody is in any decent form.
Where as in other teams like RCB, RR & SRH , you know who is gonna get you points.

Planning to stock up on them.
Maybe get Nehra, Negi, thats it.

Yeah , thanks for this BR.

With regards CSK , will have to risk on a few players to find form going into the final .
Negi , Bravo and still to decide on others.

No Problems De. I normally have these ideas then when i try to put in practise i find i have made elementary mistakes. Wanted to run it by/share it with my fellows FFS'ers to double check. Great score yesterday btw.

I will look at it in a bit more depth later . will revert if any "flaws" but seems a good plan.

Yeah , was a little despondent after Friday;s catastrophy ! Nice to be back in the hunt
            , well for a top 1k anyway.

GL today - no rain delays please

              Thanks De.

Just shows how 1 captain can make all the difference, i was 900OR before, now 1.6k.

              Good luck too.

Cheers KK. Thanks for your input.

Yeah there will always be problems (as mentioned) like that. BMac being gone now limits the options as well but at the same time takes away an overseas spot. Bravo, Jadeja, Nehra, Negi/Pandy have been my CSK picks throughout, maybe with a Raina or Dhoni thrown in.

The aim is to give myself shear weight of numbers that covers as many options as i can and hope that 1 or 2 PP's go big. The RCB who to PP/have as overseas players always makes it interesting.

I'm sure you have your plans too, and honestly the very best of luck with them. I just don't want top up on people in my team who can lose first game and then use up my subs before the final.

It's toss time! Virat Kohli thinks there's likely to be rain around in the later part of the game so wants to know what they need to score. He wants the cushion of finishing in the top two. JP Duminy thinks the pitch is a lot drier than usual. He wants to finish the season on a high having had a below par season.

      Weather issues?

Going for the RCB top 3 plus Iyer, Starc & Chahal. Saving 4 transfers for the last game, in which the weather looks perfect.

Already have 3 for the last , with 3 transfers left.

Chancing on 3 in here to get Iyer , Duminy , Gayle,Kholi, AB and Starc (prob pp)

JP said about it as well. Not good news. I'm gonna use 1 less sub and save it for the last game. I have 7 in this and need it to be completed (Well the 5 over each requuired).

Lol , I did this on Friday , and left Henriques out . We all know how that went,
But yeah , in your position would do the same.

I've switched and brought in an uncapped for later instead of Chahal. So if he gets a 'fivefer' you'll be able to hear my howls of despair! haha.

    Am I missing something?

If this game is rained off, aren't RCB in the top two on net run rate over RR(both on 7 wins, 5 losses, 2 ties)?

I believe so. RCB have to get hammered to not get in.
