Mondogoal – Donate For Doosra Contest

As we announced in last night’s ScoutCast, our partners Mondogoal have very kindly launched a contest for this weekend in honour of Doosra’s ongoing recovery from illness.

For those who don’t know, Doosra has been a long standing and active member of the Fantasy Football Scout community for many years. He was recently taken ill and has been hospitilised for several weeks.

We’re delighted to hear recently that he is slowly edging his way back to recovery and we’re all optimistic of seeing his presence back on these pages in the coming months.

A few weeks back, Fantasy Football Scout successfully won Doosra a West Ham signed matchball in a Mondogoal contest. That aroused their interest and, on hearing on Doosra’s story, they very kindly put forward the concept of a special dedicated contest.

The contest takes place over this coming Gameweek. It’s £5 to enter, you can enter more than one team.

All proceeds from this contest will be distributed to Doosra’s family and/or charity of their choosing.

The winner of this contest will receive a special West Ham United Prize Pack that includes:

  • A West Ham United Team-Signed Jersey
  • A West Ham United Team-Signed Football
  • Match Tickets to see West Ham United v. Everton on the final home fixture of the season at Boleyn Ground on the 16th of May.

All fixtures from this matchweek are included, lineups lock at the start of the first match between Arsenal and Liverpool.

We’d love to see you involved and tussle for the right to win the West Ham goodies and perhaps also seek to donate these to Doosra and his family.

We’d like to thank Mondogoal for taking time to create this contest and for their donation.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Really bad hit that, think the Giroud ship has sailed already (Arsenal in general really). Would wait until Gw35 to hop on any Arsenal IMO.

Sanchez to Silva is a good move for free though

😐 I don't know, maybe because of the upcoming fixtures 😯 ? A blank Gw33, then Chelsea at home the following week. Not an optimal time to be scrambling for their players, right?

        Hmm yeah.

Who is the best Austin replacement out of these, do you think?

Giroud (has a blank soon), Sakho, Kramaric, Murray or Gomis?

Need some help lads. 2FT and £1.4m in the bank. Also have my WC that I plan to use in GW34. What would you be looking to do? I need to have one eye on who to replace Austin with for a 2 week punt after the double, and how much money to allocate for that. Cheers!

    Myhill
    Bellerin Clichy Ivanovic
    Hazard Eriksen Silva Cazorla
    Kane Austin Aguero

Bench - (Foster) Clyne, Ameobi, Dawson

What options are you looking at?
I'd definitely save one FT this week to upgrade Austin next week like you intend. Think either Cazorla or Clichy could be good enablers for a Costa upgrade soon, but what options entice you?
      Costa, Lukaku, Gomis?

If Costa, then it looks like you'd have to sacrifice a milf, I think Cazorla would be the one to downgrade there IMO.

Agree just use one FT this week. Had planned to wait until WC to get Costa to be honest, would you consider getting him this week? Would have to downgrade Cazorla to a £5m-ish mid

You could downgrade Clichy and Cazorla and be primed to make the Austin to Costa move.

          Clichy > Naughton
          Cazorla > Siggy

          Would that work?

        2. Zasa
          • 9 Years
          9 years, 1 month ago

Not necessary at all IMO, wouldn't touch your frontline this week tbh and fwiw, Costa is still an injury doubt. And if you're not sold on Costa after this weekend, you could always go double Chelsea defense until you WC Gw34, also a solid option. There's certainly other forward options to consider for Gw32-33 with good fixtures or perhaps Rooney if you're backing United.

Could make a defensive transfer instead to strengthen your defense for the week if you don't feel comfortable selling Cazorla right now as well. Albeit, your backline looks strong as is for these next three as Clyne/Clichy/Dawson give you a solid spine until Gw34. Cazorla should leave soon though IMO, Mane/Siggy/Fella all good downgrades.

Would just be looking at Clichy/Bellerin to a defender that covers a weak fixture in your defense. If you're not getting Costa until the DGW, then maybe Clichy to Terry is something to consider.

Thanks for your help yesterday mate. Lots of food for thought. I guess at the moment I'm considering 2 options; one simply something like Bellerin>Naughton this week and then reassess with 2FT next week, the other, as you say, something like:
Clichy>Naughton & Caz>Siggy this week, then Austin>Costa next week for exact money (assuming Costa doesn't rise and Austin rises tonight!)

            Thanks again.

I have a similar team. I would spend that free trade on moving Bellerin and/or Clichy, perhaps Clichy to Naughton and, another inexpensive defender for Bellerin (or just wait to move Bellerin on your WC), to create funds for an Austin > Costa move in gw32. Alternatively, you could move Foster to Davies of Southampton, but that can also wait until your WC. Next week, downgrade Cazorla (blank in gw33) to Siggy, Mane, or Hendo (depending on Liverpool's FA cup result), and hopefully you will have the money to upgrade Austin to Costa.

Clichy> Naughton fixtures and nailed , gives another 1.2 ITB.
Caz > Siggy maybe another 2.3

Then Austin to Costa next week?

Thanks for your help last night mate. Have been pondering your idea of Clichy&Caz for Naughton&Siggy, then get Costa next week. But it would be EXACT money, and that's assuming Costa doesn't rise!

Would you do both of those this week or leave one for next week in case injuries etc changes my plans? I guess the other option this week would be something like just Bellerin>Naughton and then reassess next week with my 2FT

          Thanks again!

WC GW 35 might make more sense. You can easily get Costa in for GW34 if you downgrade somewhere in midfield (to Siggy/Mane) and upgrade Austin, who has to go anyway after this week's double. Clichy can go for Naughton to free up a but moreif you need it.

After GW34 is over you can start thinking about bringing in Pool and Arsenal players. You will want 3 from each I imagine and both teams have a poor GW34 fixture. You can shift Costa more easily for Giroud or Studge (or sell Aguero if you decide to stick with Costa)

Right, but your current 3 are playing this week and Giroud is red hot. I would hold. Perhaps you could use that FT for another player? Maybe a mid or defender to create the means to move Giroud to Costa or Rooney when Giroud blanks in GW33...?

That Arsenal midfield could use a bit a of a clearout to many good players who don't get a game and shore up some of their weaker areas in my opinion. Walcott and the OX are being wasted there

What would you like to see happen at UTD next? They are playing better clearly now but I think more needs to be done. Will they spend as much this summer as the did at the beginning of last season? I doubt it myself I think they had a bit of a scattergun approach I think they will adopt a more targeted approach picking up a few key players. I am not convinced they should keep Falcao. When does his loan end?

        • 10 Years

Falcao definitely won't be bought. Gone at the end of the season. I reckon we'll be happy to let PSG take AdM off our hands as well.

I really think we only need three signings...

        Laporte
        Schneiderlin
        Depay

        Depay Roon Mata
        Herrera
        Carrick Schneiderlin
        Blind Laporte Smalling Val/Rafa
        DDG

Then Kane in 2016 after he proves this season wasn't a fluke. 😎

So while it's quite around here, best replacement for Austin next week (excluding Costa, who I can't bring in as I already have 3 chelsea)?

    A) Sakho (STK, mci, qpr, BUR) - Valencia returning could impact his output, good fixtures though

    B) Murray (sun, WBA, HUL, che) - Great form, on pens, but doesn't play 90 minutes too often

    C) Berahino (LEI, cpl, LIV, mun) - Worst fixtures out of the lot, and plays for a defensive minded team, but on pens

    D) Giroud (bur, -, CHE, hull) - Has a blank coming up but in ripping form.

Yep. Alternatively, I could get rid of Terry and do Austin -> Costa, but I'm not sure on Costa, don't think he is worth the large outlay, and I think Chelsea will tighten up.

I accidentally typed Oliveira as Oliviera and as I'm not prepared to compromise my standards I went back and edited it. Correcting that error and gave you the status of being first by the slimmest of margins. However, I wonder if the mods will take into account that my post makes it clear that it was James Wilson who dropped in price. Readers of your post might be confused and think Marc Wilson suffered a price drop. 😉
