Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – Gameweek 32

A couple of players failed to make it past yesterday’s deadline extension and resultantly toppled off the Suspension Tightrope in the weekend’s round of fixtures. Both Neil Taylor and Victor Wanyama earned their tenth caution of the campaign and are now set to miss the next two Gameweeks as a result of their indiscretions.

Bearing in mind that Kyle Naughton is already ruled out through injury for the rest of the season, Taylor’s challenge on Aaron Lennon during Swansea’s home draw with Everton means Garry Monk will be devoid of both his first-choice full-backs against Leicester and Newcastle.

Wanyama received yellow for pulling back Sone Aluko during Southampton’s home win over Hull, with the Kenyan now set to miss a trip to Stoke and home encounter with Tottenham.

The Suspension Tightrope has now been extended to 15 yellows, easing worries for a number of players. Cesc Fabregas owners can now breathe a sigh of relief after he avoid incurring the referee’s wrath during Chelsea clash with QPR yesterday, whilst team-mate Nemanja Matic, Villa’s Ciaran Clark, QPR skipper Joey Barton, Stoke’s Phil Bardsley and West Ham centre-half Winston Reid also remain on nine yellows.

Elsewhere, Carlos Sanchez earned a one-match ban after being dismissed during Villa’s vital away win at Spurs. The midfielder will sit out next weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool and will therefore be available for the Gameweek 33 trip to City.

In terms of players still serving bans, Seb Larsson, Youssuf Mulumbu, David Meyler, Jonny Evans and Papiss Cisse all remain on the sidelines. Liverpool duo Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard, along with Newcastle’s Fabricio Coloccini, will all be available once this evening’s head-to-head at Anfield has passed.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Too much talk of Newcastle getting a spanking here. Often means the opposite.

Is Clichy a decent option, or rather go for Moreno or LEI defender for DGW?

If I get Moreno I might have 10 playing this weekend if Wasilewski doesn't feature.

Will Kelvin Davies be siants number 1 for rest of season ????

I am thinking of using a valuable transfer in telegraph game to replace Stoke keeper so i can bring in Sterling.

would leave me with triple saints defence

I am about 450 th in world so i dont want to screw up . Any genuine advice appreciated

    Sterling is replacing Mane

I could also do henderson\coutinio and Fabianksi in

WC not very much worth now.

Few weeks to enjoy a refreshened team

Few tempting dgw options left, and most able to get them without a wc, this DGW and Arsenal's.

the main advantage is getting to avoid as many upsets as possible when peoples early transfers (like Remy and Sturridge, for example) have yet to work out.. Having more freedom to pick on form rather than expediency.. but it's not as big an advantage as it should've been.. considering the teams doubling for GW34.

              So much this.

Sturridge is one of those players who will never fulfil his potential due to being chronically injury prone.

I'd cut bait on him and buy Austin in the summer if it was me and let Sturridge be someone else's injury table problem. No point having a striker you can't rely on for most of the season cos you know he's going to get crocked up.

With Costa, Remy and now Sturridge all injured, that massively limits our DGW options, which do you think is my best DGW34 transfers option (to add to Hazard + Terry):

A: Hendo + Coutinho (for free, but only gives me 4 DGW'ers)
    B: Hendo + Coutinho + Moreno (for -4 hit)
    C: Fabregas + Sterling + Henderson (-4 hit)
    D: Mignolet + Fabregas + Coutinho + Henderson (-8hit)

Got to feel for Giggs Boson. Went for a punt of Sturridge (c), left with Kane as VC now. Could have been wonderful.

Huh? I don't own him so no points is excellent.

Most people have Kane cpt anyway so not really a big deal?

Could have worked out well for him, I was feeling empathetic.

Feel a bit of a tool for leaving Ibe 3rd sub. Could have been a huge differential.

are you going to keep him for the double?

Could be worth it if Sturridge doesn't shake off his knock. If he does then get rid, just deadwood.

May have a cheeky punt at him for anytime goalscorer

Yes definitely keeping him for the double. I think he'll start every match til end of the season if fit. Worked out well for me as I can now field 3 Chels 3 Liverpool and 1 Leicester, no hits and still keep my wildcard 🙂

    Sturridge injured?

Was pondering Studge, Hendo and Skrtel for DGW but the former seems a risk.

    Who else to consider?

      coutinho and perhaps Ibe now

        Is Coutinho consistent enough?

        What about Sanchez > Coutinho?

depends on how much money you have tied up in Sanchez because you may want him back for GW37

Depending on Sturridge's fitness, I reckon he may start one and not feature in the other. Both games should be easy wins and Sturridge will probably be wrapped in glass until Wembley.

Probably not worth the risk IMO. Has only ever had 1 assist in the PL and that was a couple of seasons back. He looks lively when he plays but at the minute, no end product. There's a reason he is 4.3M and a reason he isn't a regular.

Not sure if I still want Sturridge for DGW. Injury magnet. Moreno/Skrtel, Henderson and Coutinho/Sterling.

And what about Ibe? Will he play both games?
