The Big Numbers – Gameweek 32

We delve into the data from the previous Gameweek this evening and analyse a number of impressive recent performers. Palace, Arsenal, Liverpool and United midfielders arrive on our radar and, with one eye already on double Gameweek 34, we also turn our attentions to a trio of in-form centre-halves. Elsewhere, the malaise of Tottenham’s main men is also investigated.

Should I go into this week with 9/10 players?

    Team would be:

    Myhill (Gilks)
    Wollschied Clyne Bertrand
    Hazard Silva Mane
    Aguero Kane Remy*

    *injury doubt

No Game: PVA, Coutinho, Sanchez Bellerin

Not sure who I can justify taking out right now.

Mane is off form but he is at least playing this week.
    Remy doubt but could play.
Coutinho has a double next week but he is off form, take him out after DGW.
Bellerin Sanchez PVA all have DGW37.

I was gonna stick this week and bank the transfer then take out Mane and Kane next week then Coutinho and Remy after DGW.

I'd sell Bellerin if I were you. Probably for Huth/Schlupp. But not for a hit.

Not sure if he would play both games in GW37 anyway, and would prefer 3 Arsenal attackers.

      Bellerin out for dGW
Plenty of time to prep for arsenal dGW after 34

GW35 will start making the necessary transfers to gear up for GW37.

Will WC in GW34 to have at least one Arsenal attacker + PVA. That's the plan at least.

Luckily for us without a wildcard the spreading out of double game weeks served as well as with no wildcard I will be having 7or 8 double game week players for week 34 and 6 for week 37 with no hits!

yea with proper planning it's definitely doable. would have definitely preferred all the doubles to be in 34.

It would have been too confusing who to get and not enough spaces for players from lesser teams. And I wouldn't be punished by austin 🙁

Head says A but guts say B, Timbo. Boalsie against HUL is very temting, plus with A I might bench Hendo after GW34 since I'm also getting Rambo

Hendo has QPR in 35 which is nice plus I think it's better to have an attacking player for the double.

Indeed. Silva has QPR in 36 too, looks like A should be better.

But then I think I'll have a serious benching headache in GW35 - who would yo bench? 😆

            Haz Sterling Silva Hendo Ramsey
            Giroud Vardy Kun

            all with good fixtures.

😯 who are the front 3 then? 3-5-2 after GW34?

            • 11 Years

with A it'll be Kun Vardy Remy (to Giroud 35)

with B it'll be Kun Kane Vardy (to Giroud 35)

yep, looks like 3-5-2 then. But then Vardy has NWE in 35 😆 Vardy could be Defoe in DGW37. Might downgrade Hendo later on perhaps if i decide to revert back to 3-4-3.

Nah, I already have 2 proposed WC teams - just don;t feel like laying them out here yet 😉 .Plus so many things still consider - Remy being fit, Skrtel or Moreno + 0.6, and so on.

So far I only plan for GW35 (Giroud in for Vary or Remy).I will probably have Ospina and Rambo on my bench during DGW34. Maybe I'll ditch Schlupp (if i get him) in GW36 since I don't intend to keep him too long.

if you can afford benching Schlupp rest of the season...i wouldn't waste a transfer on him.

Fair enough. I too am earmarking one Arsenal attacker on my wildcard - either Ramsey or Giroud depending on whether Remy is fit. Going with Davis in goal though - planning for 3 ARS attackers for 37.

Nah i don't think I can do that. My other 2 Defs are PVA and Boyd 😆

Yeah agree with you and your plan. imo Rambo and Giroud are shoe in for DGW37; key is the 3rd ARS - another Mid (Ozil/alexis0 or a Def (Kos/Ospina). Davis is a qulaity pick still - I somehow feel wrong to ignore him with my proposed WC teams.

                    1. Shifty

Davis is nailed on to my WC team. Considered Mignolet, but would rather Skrtel as my defender for goal and baps potential.

Also, ML rivals all have at least one Southampton defender. So it's just part of my blocking tactic to get Davis + Clyne in defence.

Rambo and Giroud will both definitely be in my team by GW35. Form will decide whether Ozil or Sanchez is in mine by GW37...though if it's Sanchez, Aguero might have to leave my team in GW37 😯 but I do like Austin's fixtures for 37+38 as a replacement...

still too far ahead to plan though.

I used to be burnt with that "blocking tactic". Lost a top 3k finish for doing that tactic. Just play your own game - that would be my advice.

I'd say no to ditching Kun. But yeah for the final 2 GWs, it's kinda lottery tbh. Depends on MCI fighting hard or not for UCL qualification imo.

Yep, there's Austin. And there's Defoe too. May i add Benteke as well? 😉 Many to ponder. Let's take it 1 GW at a time 😉

                        Thanks for your help man.

Thanks for that tip - definitely keep that in mind.

Yea, Aguero out is still a long way from now. If my MLs are close, I probably won't make the switch. Depends on MCI's form and where they are in the league - you're right.

Looking at Giroud-Benteke-Kun on GW34 wildcard! But yea, 1 GW at a time. Easy to get excited by a late WC though...first time i've held it in so long...if you get my drift 😆

                        cheers, you too.

If you're looking for a cheapy with a fix this week, you could always go for cambiasso at 4.7, with SWA and then a DGW.

After that he can be bench fodder

Still struggling to decide on my 2FT this week (WC next week so can punt)

    Team is:

    Krul , Myhill

    Terry, Dawson, PVA, Toby, Bellerin

    Haz, Sanchez, Eriksen, Mane, Boyd

    Giroud, Aguero, Kane

    £2.1 ITB.

Any suggestions? Will be two of Giroud, Sanchez & Bellerin that get taken out

Sorted for this week but trying to plan ahead in terms of how many hits I should be taking for the DGW.

    Currently my team is:

    Panti / Davies
    Clyne / Azpi / Toby / Bellerin / Dawson
    Ozil / Hazard / Silva / Eriksen / Boyd
    Aguero / Kane / Remy

Got 4.2m ITB and will only have 1 FT. Bringing in Sterling for Eriksen seems a good idea. Also seems like a good idea to do Skrtel for Bellerin. So a -4 hit so far.

    Should I be doing more?

Thinking a defender for a -4 personally. Think that'll be worth it?

depends on who you are replacing, theyve got a decent shout at 2 cleanies.

Bellerin most likely. I do have Clyne/Toby/Azpi/Dawson otherwise though.

then maybe consider mignolet. thats what i have done. that backline is too expensive to be including skrtl as well

Correct, but kind of in the same situation there haha! I have Davies and Panti at the back.

Ugh, may just take no hit here.

Why are you surprised? They're playing well and all the hits are effectively 2 point hits. They also have a good game in 35.

I don't like an -8pt hit in one week. I've no WC and no Pool players, so I took a -4pt hit to get a Pool player in this week and will make another -4pt hit next week to get two more in. I have a reasonable team out this week.

I mentioned this earlier in the week and received negative replies.

Because it doesn't conform to the standard methodology of playing the game doesn't necessarily mean its a bad decision.

I'm hoping that thinking outside the box will pay off.

fwiw Sherlock took a 12 pt hit GW27 (the first blank GW) and had a remarkable GW. It's about the players and the strategy. When you take hits it should be for mid/long term planning, though.

2 FTs this week, can field exactly 11 already

    A) Start Boyd, Sanchez > Hendo (yes hendo, will give me an extra dgw player next week for free)
    B) Sanchez > Yaya for a 1 week punt, hendo in next week for -4

and u would remove Murray in gw35 for Benteke?

every team is different so for me, i went for Vardy...so that i could bring in giroud free and early (gw35)

and stats wise, vardy vs murray...quite similar!

Murray vs the Hull defence at the moment....
Compared with Vardy up against Chelsea at squeaky bum time...
        Vardy v Burnley is ok

        Gw35 he can go.

I think FPL will still price him at 5.5m given set pieces. but anything less than that, and he would be a strong candidate for 5th mid.

    Krul (Panti)
Ivanovic, Clyne, Dawson (Hutton, van Anholt)
    Hazard, Silva, Sanchez, Eriksen (James)
    Aguero, Kane, Austin

    2FT

    A) Austin->Murray
    B) Austin->Vardy
    C) Hutton->Schlupp

A or B would probably be for 1-2 weeks then switch to Sturridge if fit for the DGW 34. C would give me a better option than Dawson GW 33 and DGW-defender for DGW 34. I'd then do Austin->Sturridge in DGW 34 if fit.
