Don't you just hate GK rotation..just noticed 17 points from Myhill is massive points missed!!

Rival played Guzan(Rested/Dropped) Myhill waiting how lucky is that?!!

Played Pants as most would of right?

Moved Top of ML..it's been a long time coming, 8 points clear..still along way to go in this GW but it's nice viewing (Thank you Coutinho)

I Transfered out sterling to Ramsey which has worked out fine so far, almost very almost got Tekkers in for the hit but held back however I've made my transfer early.. No messing

Myhill(never going to drop you again)
    Ivan Terry Bellerin
    Sanchez Ramsey Hazard Bolasie
Kane Kun Tekkers (welcome to my team sorry I missed your points this GW)

    Pants Coutinho Skrtel PVA

      Benteke should rise, Morgan too.
      Austin and Murray will fall.

66 without a WC wasn't that tough imo. Just needed balls to take a few hits.
Demi took a -16 and made it easy.

UFPL has been nothing short of a flop since it's introduction. Does anybody think they will have a revamp of it ?

I hate the loan system...I just can't be bothered with it. I'd like them to do something with it because it has potential, don't know whether they will.

So pick 25 then have transfers weekly?

It doesn't need a 25 man squad...A 25 man squad with a loan system is putting people off the game...It just needs to be an enhanced version of the free game.

Yeah, this basically. I think they introduced too many changes too soon, they should've started with an FPL clone and grown the game if they wanted to.

That was what I expected. In fact I think most people expected that. UFPL needs to be a game for FPL crackpots who just want a little more....not an over complicated new beast....Would you agree?

I would. Over 3 million of us play FPL - it's us they need to appeal to. They'll soon start making money if they cater to their target market.

Well if it was 18 so you could play 11 on Day 1 & 7 on Day 2 if organised well then a free transfer a week could work with penalties for further transfers. Seeing it's 25 now, you should always have at least 18 available.

Yeah but FPL have 3.5 million customers on GW1...The game developers should be looking to engage a much higher number for the season than simply the top fifty.

How many of those teams are duplicate teams or teams from countries that are eligible for prizes? 50% are already dead teams. In UFPL, dead teams have no place. As long as they get 10K or whatever x a fiver to cover all the prizes then they have made a profit. If FPL next season was a game costing a fiver to play, 3.5M would decrease very quickly.

I suppose that's the problem they face...trying to work out how analogous the two situations are. You're right, there wouldn't be the same demand...but I think they've put as many people off with their clumsy new approach as they have with the admittance fee.

They'd have to change the name then as that's not very Ultimate 😉

Maybe they could just introduce the option where people can pay or not pay. Everyone will still compete in the main overall league but they could be a separate money league, manager of the month etc which get paid. £10 a season or something. It's definitely pay it and even if they got 10% of the usual players to join it would still provide a decent prize pot for a variety of competitions

There is tons they could do in this area and i wouldn't be surprised to see it really take off over the next few years. Companies like DraftKings and others are doing well. But all that is based on daily fantasy competitions i think rather than the long haul we like to suffer through 🙂

Is Wasi guaranteed 90 mins? Don't know that he isn't, it's just he hasn't been quite recently. He played a lot of half games for some reason. I also think Kane could do more damage just against Hull than Benteke likely will with his tougher fixtures.

I like Ramsey in for Sterling though!

yeah i agree with you're points here, i have Alderweireld and Rose so they could always step in for Wasi i guess. It's all just to accommodate Benteke but like you say Kane could score just as well if not better. think i'll hold then 🙂

to do Sterling > Ramsey i need to downgrade one of Rose, Skrtel, Terry, Ivan or Skrtel by 0,1.

For GW36 and GW37, would you rather have:

    A) Kane + Ivanovic + Larsson

    or

    B) Benteke + Stones + Henderson - 4

    1. Reedy
      • 13 Years
      9 years, 7 days ago

      A) but with a different mid, for me. Maybe a SGWer like Boyd in the same price range. I'd sooner have Gomez than Larsson I think, if I had to pick from Sunderland (just for the pens).

        • 9 Years

Thanks. I almost wrote Sunderland mid as I figured they're all pretty much of a muchness, but thought it simpler to give a specific example. Basically, I have two FTs between now and GW37. One has Giroud's name on and the other was earmarked to give me a third Sunderland player for the double, but now I'm wondering whether use that second FT plus a hit to free up funds for Benteke and overlook having a sixth double Gameweek player.

I'm thinking we've missed the boat on benteke, given his remaining fixtures.

But it depends how we look at it I suppose. Form over fixtures they say, for strikers; but he plays West Ham next and Allardyce is now committed to grinding out cleansheets for the rest of the season...then they play Saints away (their form is poor but we know how solid defensively they can be on their day), and finally Burnley who don't give away many goals these days either.

I also think Kane might be worth keeping for Hull alone.

I know what you're saying, but when I looked at the possibility of bringing him in GW31, a run of tot, blank, mci, EVE hardly looked appealing too and look what he's done!

Yes, true as well. And that's the form argument - it's hard to argue with. I just wish Kane would recapture some of his earlier form...has he forgotten he's got a golden boot to win?

The problem with Kane is he can be explosive. He's one player who would really hurt your ranking now if he explodes when you don't own him. Benteke is more explosive than Giroud, whose more of a goal-a-game man - but of course in GW37 that would be equal to a SGW striker brace...

Tough one. I like Benteke but Kane's fixtures are good as well. I think I would see how Kane does tomorrow before making a decision.

I think Ivan and Stones have similar potential over those weeks.

The Sunderland double gameweek is an interesting one. They could easily do nothing in the DGW but lets face it Henderson isn't really lighting it up so I would probably prefer Larsson over him. I would not let it cloud my decision to much.

Is that the only way you can do Kane to Benteke?

      1. Diva
        • 9 Years

Thanks. I would need to take a hit, unless I ignore Giroud. I could do Vardy -> Benteke, then Skrtel to Koscielny. That would leave Henderson squatting in my team unless I took a hit to remove him.

By the way. My recent advice should come with a health warning. Vardy to Benteke would be a definite improvement imo an Squitel to Kosc would get you a DGW player so that seems sensible.(unless you want more Arsenal mids/forwards) Personally I like arsenals back line they seem a little more predictable for when they will keep clean sheets than some.

    What say you DZ

Gomez or Larson for a cheeky Sunderland punt as 4th midfielder.

Remy to Giroud and a Southampton player to an Arsenal player look good moves. For free, a Sunderland mid would be a reasonable punt because they will at least have an extra shot at scoring more points and have, maybe, begun to find some fight.

You could also look at Remy -> cheap striker (one of Sunderland's if you like) and doubling up on Arsenal mids. I'm considering both approaches myself, but probably with a SGW option over any of the black cats offerings. Sanchez, Ozil and Ramsey all look as enticing as Giroud to me...not sure which way I'll go.

Yes...you could steal a march on them if he blanks, but it is risky. Some think Welbeck will take minutes off him in the double...I've no clue on that personally, but it's an interesting thought...

    1. Reedy
      • 13 Years

Ha, well that seems to rest squarely on the shoulders of one Sergio Aguero. Not merely because we've strategically mass-captained him, but also because we need your help to qualify and I see that you have three Agueros over India, too!

Interesting. We haven't given up hope ourselves yet! We need an average of around 6 points per remaining differential player minimum to stand a chance of qualifying by my calculations. But that depends on your team. If you were to win by over 10 points this goes up. It may seem like a lot but the players we have left have quite a lot of potential

I don't think I realised how tight, and complex, this all was. If it's any comfort, we're not likely to go tearing ahead however we do. We need a ~50pt lead just to give ourselves a chance, and I can't see us scoring much beyond that target even if we hit it.

Are you sure you need that much? If we manage to beat India (which I think we stand a chance of) but not catch their run rate we will be knocking down their run rate with every run we beat them by. Yours is a moving target you can do nothing about.

He got 107 'moral points' for that display, I think.

I have 28 points on the bench in Myhill and Albrighton...my current GW score is 23...

Praying Courtois and Silva/Hazard don't show up.

Anyone else with a ton of benched points?

I've got 19pts on the bench from three (7,6,6)...just waiting for Murray to score now.

Just Albrighton here. And he doesn't look likely to be coming on 🙁
