I wake up to the sound of my alarm at 10:00 AM on a Saturday. Lasts nights hangover lingering and to my dismay the glass of water next to my bed is empty. I stir a bit but try to be quiet so I don't wake up my better half. I smell of cigarettes and Vodka, my head throbbing and my throat dry, but I feel good. Why? because my fantasy lineup is perfect.

Looking back at that day, August 8th feels like it was just yesterday...

Almost one week later I sit at my desk, its the last day of work before I have a two-week holiday to France, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. I should be thinking about the friends I will see, the places I want to go, and more importantly how to best budget this. But what is on my tired mind? two skinny kids in their early to mid twenties, one donning a #14 on a red jersey, the other a #7 against a light blue.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, fantasy football is not very important. But not for me, for me its not about a score at the end of the year. Its not about improving my overall ranking. Its about he drama, its about the competition with my friends, its about those weeks that make you feel like you're on top of the world and also the ones where you wonder "what could have been?"

What is the point of this post? Im saving my FT. thanks

Problem is so many knee jerkers won't do so it will force many of us to jump ship as well to avoid the price drop. That 0.1 loss would be a killer at this stage

Completely agree... So here's where I am, I took a bit this week ensuring I didn't overpay for a couple of signings, and found my funds for Aguero, who is my transfer target for GW2.

I know feel I'm going have to take another hit next week, or hold off buying Aguero for another week... and I really don't want to do the latter.

That's what's frustrating me! I just want one more week with Walcott, and my only hope is a brace against Palace that stops the rot, but I far that'll come too late.

This is all depending on how each player goes over the next few weeks also...

Too many thinking of transferring out Hazard out already.

Think we need to look at it this way.

    - His least amount of points were 190, in the first season here in the PL. Twice over 200 points.

    - Focal point of Chelsea's attack.

    - Almost always gets bonus points if he is involved in goals.

    - On penalties.

Can't fault those getting Sanchez in for him since he seems to have better fixtures than Hazard, but having both is the ultimate way to go. Drop only if you are sure you'd be able to get him back when he starts bagging those points.

he's as close to a sure thing as there is in fpl...such a secure option in a game full of unpredictability

200 points over 38 games is 5 PPG (not to be sniffed at), but he is costing 11.5m for the pleasure. Potentially more points to be gained elsewhere, especially right now where Chelsea don't look right.

I have no doubts Hazard will be a must have at some point, just not sure it's right now.

      1. AK ⭐
        • 11 Years
        8 years, 8 months ago

        Agree with you there.

It's worth noting that Hazard gets involved in the goals when Chelsea play a tight game or will marginally. Everton 6-3 and Swansea 5-0, and he wasn't involved in those goals at all.

        1. AK ⭐

So I'd not just leave him out yet. Next thing you know, Chelsea wins 1-0 in a typical Mourinho game and Hazard gets the goal and max bonus points. Something that happened against United last season.

        This^

Despite the fact I did the research and found that through the first six games of each of his first three seasons in England his combined total is one goal, five assists and the last two years he has failed to score before October!

I think it's too early to judge him on the basis of 1 Game where the team practically played more than 35 minutes with a man down. Even then, he looked pretty threatening.

Have we not lost all the knee-jerkers who are only prepared to give Walcott one week yet!?

As Walcott owners... I think most of us have faith that he'll get his start and probably do the business against Palace. I think we'd all like to see that before we make a call whether to transfer him out or not.

However, there's a growing trend towards, "get him out before his game, in case his price drops", from what I'm hearing.

Most of us don't want to sell him, but a feeling forced to by fear. Surely we're working against ourselves here.

Can Wally owners unite, and let's see him smash it for us on Sunday before making any rash calls?

I've gotten rid. Doesn't really matter if he starts or not this week he's still just going to be a headache to own.

If he starts against Palace there's nothing to say he starts vs Liverpool.

I'm keeping for GW2 but probably selling right after the deadline.

He's not a viable fantasy option, bar injury to others, anymore. We all knew this but chose to start with him purely based on preseason game time as well as Sanchez being out for a gameweek or 2.

My plan was always to get rid of Walcott by GW3 - so for me, i'm just going to stick with the plan.

      I'm getting rid.

I naively thought that his end of last season peformances would leave him pretty nailed, I did not get him in expecting him to be benched GW1 and I'm not going to put up with the will he/won't he that plagued my team with him in for the last month of last season.

      • 10 Years
      8 years, 8 months ago

I'd be devasted if I shipped him out in a gw before seeing him play only for him to go on and score.

wenger said he won't be ready to play until gw3 in his presser, yet he played him for 20 mins on sunday in a desperate situation...given the loss, and the difficulty of the upcoming fixture i imagine wenger will start him because he knows anything but a win will cause riots...he didn't rest alexis at all last season, he knows how important he is to the team...whether its detrimental to his fitness over the course of the season is another issue, but id say he starts

I think Payet is a must own fantasy player. Jump on board before this game week imo.

Save the transfer at own risk

Did you watch his performance at the Emirates?

On set piece as well. In the prime of his career. My opinion he doesn't leave my squad.

Yeh, he was okay, but only created 2 chances in the whole game, the assist coming from a GK error.

People tripping over themselves to get him have lost their minds, imo. Cabella was more impressive on his debut against Man City last year.

This would definitely be the time to get him wouldn't it. I just feel Ritchie was ridiculously unlucky last week not get any points and should give him more chance. Tricky dicky

      A bit IMO.
Hendo is playing deep with the arrival of Milner and if Firmino is starting.
Only chance he grab some points are with set pieces.

    Mahrez ( 5th MF) + Pelle in a 3-4-3

    Or

    Shaqiri+ Defoe +1 m in a 3-5-2?
This option could also be Shaqiri + Sakho which would give me benching problems
    Or Coutinho + Defoe
    Thanks

My weekly question on my son's side. He used his wildcard already

    Romero/Mccarthy
    Alders Kolarov Darmian Gomez Oxford
    Cabaye Payet Sanchez Silva Mahrez
    Aguero Tekkers Graban

2 weeks early for my liking.

    1. Dax

As per the replies to your question above, it would appear so. Cedric was taken off at half time because of concerns that he would be sent off and Bertrand is not fit enough to play. Targett is more of a doubt because Caulker could slot into CB and Yoshida to LB.

        Interesting about targett

Considering both goals conceded were from crosses, maybe Caulker would be a better bet in the middle. How that plays out for Targett is anyone's guess.
