The ScoutCast – Episode 169 – Inferno

The time comes when every Fantasy Football manager has to react quickly to douse some fires in their squad. The problem is, my team is currently a blazing inferno, without a disco in sight.

At least that’s Granville’s opinion. Buoyed from seeing his canny capture of Anthony Martial deliver a brace at St Mary’s, my cocky co-host is quick to dish out a whipping to my ailing lineup.

We discuss the merits of United’s new teenage sensation as part of another round of community questions, served up once again by Jonty. The three of us also ponder the Chelsea revival, David Silva’s fragile ankles and just how our Fantasy Football managerial styles translate to the dog world: a crunch question that’s been brewing unanswered for many episodes.

    Captain choice, in that order

    (1) Martial
    (2) Hazard
    (3) Aguero

swaying towards Hazard but will prob play it safe with Martial

I'm going with Martial, my calculated maverick captain choices usually back fire. Picking Aguero over Suarez a few years ago, Aguero got a goal and hamstring injury just after half time. Suarez banged in two goals and two assists vs Spurs.

Reposting because my question ended on the bottom of the previous page.

I keep debating if I should let Aguero go for Martial. Aguero hasn't been convincing but he has great fixtures coming and Martial will be facing Sunderland which should yield good points. Opinions?

Or option B, let Toure go and get Mata?

    Cheers.

that's a humdinger. sanchez is definitely creating the chances, but pedro's form is better. on the other side of the coin, watford's defence is performing well, and newcastle are running around like headless chickens.

Hey guys. So been super busy with work and kinda wasn't paying attention this week and Gomis has dropped and Martial rose 3 times. Would it be stupid to make that transfer now? Considering I've effectively lost .4 or does it matter I should be thinking in points not money?

    Thanks lads

    1. Doolittle
      • 11 Years

Just think of the points, nothing you can do about price changes now. If you don't make the switch, and Gomis blanks/Martial scores, then the prices will change again and you'll end up even worse off. If you think Martial is the better option, get him.

Most ppl went Gomis - Martial, or Benteke - Martial.

If you decide to go with the transfer, games after the Sunderland game is what people is debating about.

But, if Martial scores another brace vs Sunderland, mini jackpot! you get points + more rise.

Anyone concerned about the fact that Martial's goals have come from luckily dropping to him/ mistakes so far? I'm aware he's been very composed and if he gets chances he'll finish them, so he's evidently a great pick.

I'm just worried about captaining him as he could easily just be marked out of the game by Sunderland, leaving the Utd midfielders to get the goals instead.

    Thoughts?

sorry about the long post guys but im really in a bit of a dilemna. There are two major things happening here. the one is i will get martial if i wc next week as then i can take him out again. The other is to decided whether to play AOA cos targett is probably gonna be out.

    Myhill 4.0

    Kolarov Clyne Targett Huth Muniesa

    Mahrez Ramsey Chadli Pedro Behrami

    kane Tekkers Aguero

    2fts 0.7 itb

A( wc to follow and play targett): chadli and tekkers to martial and payett

B ( wc to follow and AoA): tekkers and behrami to martial and moses (play kane and chadli both - meh)

C( no wc and play targett ): Kane , tekkers and chadli to bojan ighalo and hazzard (-4) ( money itb for ramsey to city mid and defensive upgrade so -4 next week as well).

D (no wc and play AoA): Kane , tekkers and behrami to bojan, ighalo and hazzard (-4) money itb for ramsey to city mid(only yaya or sterling) and defensive upgrade so -4 next week as well).

    Thanks gents ! 🙂

Thoughts on if Silva is ruled out - Hazard or KDB? (whichever one I don't get will likely come in next week for Sanchez)

Are the fixture difficulties adjusted/sorted into a table somewhere in the members area?

With Janmaat injured (or ill) do you reckon Hazard will have an easier time or a harder time? ( asking as janmaat usually pushes alot forward and the substitute might be more defensively minded?)
