The Big Numbers – Midfielders – Last Four Gameweeks

After delving into the Gameweek 5-8 data for Defenders yesterday afternoon, we now set our sights on the midfielders. Arsenal’s in-form duo arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over City and West Ham’s summer signings and analyse the recent displays of Southampton’s wide men as the fixtures turn in their favour.

              If you do get Lukaku don't judge his value on the next two games. He has such an amazing run starting in GW11.

        His last 4 fixtures were tough for attacking returns.

        His next 5 are identical to Leicester's last 5, which implies goal potential.

    Assuming Kun is out for a few weeks, whatcha reckon?

    A) Kun -> Costa
    B) Sinclair & Kun -> Walcott & Kane (-4)
    C) Sinclair & Kun -> De Bruyne & Lukaku (-4)

    Would likely bench one of the LEI lads this week away to SOT if going with B) or C)

    Rudd, Rudd
    Bellerin, Kolarov, Huth, Coates, Targett
    Sanchez, Mane, Pedro, Mahrez, Sinclair
    Aguero, Pelle, Vardy

    Bank 0.6m, 1FT, both WCs

    1. Mull

      C) with Bony. Seems the perfect player to have for the next few weeks if Aguero is out.

        Yeah, that is tempting. But there is a slight concern he might not start even with Kun out. They could go with Sterling up top and KDB--Silva--Navas behind. Also, away at MUN I expect LVG to park the bus.

      1. Jigger & Pony
        • 10 Years

        Mahrez (sou)

        Also gives me protection against another injury given I have Sanchez and Ayew.

          Similar position to me (see above). I expect Sanchez and Ayew will play, but nice to have a better back up than Sinclair (I also have him).

          I think I'd go for it with KDB and Pelle - both on fire and with great fixtures this week. Mine's a little less obvious as I already have Pelle. Watcha think?

          1. Jigger & Pony
            • 10 Years
            8 years, 6 months ago

            Yup makes sense. My current 8.0m fwd is Martial so no brainer to get Pelle in. I have Hazard and Sanchez so did not have room for KdB, which was making me uneasy. What's your forward line-up?

    G'mornin,

    So Kun looking like out for a few GW's 🙁 Will at least free some funds for Sako replacement - need a more secure starter. If doing Kun -> Pelle, who's the midfielder to get:

    a) Sako -> Mata -4
    b) Sako -> Mane -4
    c) Sako -> Walcott -4
    d) Sako -> Cabaye -4

    Might also save FT if Mahrez is expected to start next GW.
    Opinions much appreciated!

      • 8 Years

      I'd say Theo.Him being a mid and playing as a fwd in real life boosts his fantasy potential.Can be a solid differential as well.Might consider cabaye too been in good form lately and scored a banger last night!

      1. Pompel
        • 10 Years
        8 years, 6 months ago

        But always some doubt on Theo's game time - a known fpl troll. But if getting him for a purple patch, I could climb the rankings. Didn't know Cabaye scored last night, he's certainly good value. But maybe not the best fixtures for the next 4 GWs

      The problem is who gets to play in his absence? I've a multitude of great choices on the bench like Westwood and two defenders who have yet to get a cleanie between them this year and have bad fixtures 🙁
