Gameweek 12 continues apace with two tantalising match-ups, with the north London derby at the Emirates earning top billing. Arsenal are looking for a sixth successive league victory this afternoon, though visitors Spurs are no pushovers and haven’t tasted defeat since the season opener at Old Trafford.
The Gunners will fancy their chances of a victory on home turf, though, considering that they havenβt lost a derby with Spurs at the Emirates since 2010. Over the previous five Gameweeks, no side has registered more goals (16) or big chances (18) than Arsenal, which bodes well for their attacking prospects. Spurs, meanwhile, have conceded just five goals in their last six outings, ensuring that the hosts are in for a challenging afternoon.
Elsewhere at 4pm, Liverpool look to maintain their impressive momentum under Jurgen Klopp as Palace roll up to Anfield. The Merseysiders are looking for a fourth straight victory in all competitions and will be buoyed by the fact that Alan Pardew’s side have netted once in the last three Gameweeks.
Palace, though, have tightened up considerably in defence in recent outings and will be no pushovers. Between Gameweek 8-11, only Arsenal and City allowed their opponents fewer shots inside the box (20) than the Selhurst Park outfit.
Given that Liverpool have netted just six times in front of their fans, then, this one could be a tightly-contested affair before we head into the third international break of the 2015/16 campaign.
