Sneaking in late like John Terry in a triumphant team photo, Granville gatecrashes this week’s ScoutCast after we drafted in Andy85WSM as his able replacement.

Andy tag teams with Jonty and myself as we look back ten days at the long forgotten Gameweek 12, before grappling with another round of posers from the community.

We cast tentative votes on the Aguero debate, assess Lukaku’s armband credentials, check that we really can write off Chelsea and question whether time is up for Sanchez in the light of Ozil’s streak of assists.

After all that, Granville parachutes in and we get a few minutes to gloat over his injury-ravaged squad. A worthy cameo contribution.

        His returns are based on an unusually high award of penalties. At the current rate they'll get 13 this season.

        In 12 starts he's provided one assist (which is very poor considering his set piece responsibility) and 0 goals from open play.

              Sounds like you've made your mind up anyway.

              I think that rate of pens is unsustainable. Last year they got 7 playing with tricky wingers, but you say you're getting rid of him soon anyway so I guess that's irrelevant really

        I still think he shouldn't be as knackered as he is. Vidal, Higuain, etc who all played in the copa final didn't have a break and are fine.

        But I do see your point, I just don't have any real (C) option this week other then Vardy. Pelle maybe.

          I think he has every right to be knackered. Firstly, he hasn't had an offseason break for two seasons (WC last year and Copa America this year). Secondly, he has played, I'd say, 90% of Arsenal games, he only seems to be rested in League Cup/early FA Cup matches 😕

            I compared his minutes/games played with other players who played in the Copa America. Vidal, for example has only played 60 less minutes then Alexis and he is a central mid. I doubt we would hear any rumours that he would be tired. Also, Messi and Ronaldo played every game for Barca/Madrid, even the cup games when fit after Last years WC and they didn't lack fitness.

            Unless you are not over 30, you should be fit enough to play every, if not most games imo.

              I don't really think you can compare Messi and Ronaldo to Sanche tbh, both of them have had a proper off season. It makes a huge difference imo.

              If you watch Sanchez he runs around like a headless chicken so it's no surprise really. Everyone has different bodies as well, it's not like if Vidal has played the exact same minutes as Sanchez then they should both be as equally as tired 😀

                Messi and Ronaldo have plenty of rest when he other team has the ball!

                I think Sanchez just looks tired in the second half of games because he runs his nuts off and doesn't conserve energy. Not because he plays 60 games a year.

                This resting stuff is absolute nonsense though. As if Wenger will play Alex Iwobi as a starter and put Sanchez on the bench!

                  If players are really fatigued or suffering overuse injuries they should be rested from training rather than games anyway. Way too much training in modern sport.

      I have some thoughts on your WC as a fellow team mate -

      1)Why would you go for Smalling @6.5m in a WC when you can go for Rojo for 1m cheaper?
      2)Do you seriously think Vardy will not outscore 1 of your 3 attackers?
      3)Tadic and Mata look weak choices - midfield is very weak - needs Sanchez

        He is too punty for a 5th mid during xmas, imo. I'm not saying he is a bad pick though. But the fact Bournemouth fans don't like him doesn't do him any good.

            King isn't much of a goal scorer though. I wouldn't want to rotate them. Also, I would say Ighalo is unbenchable over the next month with those fixtures 🙂

        You weren't around much during pre-season.

        I did a "Eden Hazardous" and kept asking who the best 5th mid was and I ended up going with Fletcher after names like Mutch/Sidwell/Anya/Mulumbu were mentioned 😛

        But having a 5th mid is vital during this time of the season. Too risky to punt on someone who can easily get rotated. Murray surely back soon.
