Sneaking in late like John Terry in a triumphant team photo, Granville gatecrashes this week’s ScoutCast after we drafted in Andy85WSM as his able replacement.

Andy tag teams with Jonty and myself as we look back ten days at the long forgotten Gameweek 12, before grappling with another round of posers from the community.

We cast tentative votes on the Aguero debate, assess Lukaku’s armband credentials, check that we really can write off Chelsea and question whether time is up for Sanchez in the light of Ozil’s streak of assists.

After all that, Granville parachutes in and we get a few minutes to gloat over his injury-ravaged squad. A worthy cameo contribution.

    So i need to actually captain someone from one of these and none of them fill me with confidence this week 😆

    Vardy Pelle (Ighalo)

    Was all set on Vardy but i'm bit worried about the injury, Mane/Pelle look good but Mane always flatters to deceive after international breaks
    Actually thinking of going Bolasie for MNF / Sanchez cause of the WBA being poor vs good attacking wide players theory from a few weeks ago.
    Any one care to help? 🙂

        Got a transfer to waste and i need to free up Aguero cash.. that being said i could "waste" it on Janmat to Souare and captain Kdb/Sanchez.. not expecting much from either though tbh

      I'd go with consistent, proven players. Yes, Sanchez/Ozil as you don't have Kane/Lukaku. Maybe Sanchez not much consistent this year but he can turn it around.

        Yup 🙂 .. this is the reason i'm thinking Sanchez. That being said he has looked really poor of late including the Chile games

          I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from the Chile games where he was playing out of position as a striker. Alexis is not a #9 and it showed in the qualifiers as he didn't get as many touches as he normally does when he is deeper in the midfield.

              Thanks, great insight there. I still think Alexis is the better cap option this week though.

              WBA right flank is very weak and has been all season. United exploited it last gameweek, Lingard's goal came from that side.

      It's very heavy. I don't think it's balanced. I also wouldn't be happy taking in such an obvious rotation risk as deulofeu as my fourth mid. But I accept he has gone fixtures and is form.

      I just can't see kun starting either. It's a good squad, but it looks a very poor potential team this week

    Morning ladies and gents,

    I wanted to make my transfers so much last night because of Payet dropping but just couldn't decide in the end.

    Ended up falling asleep in bed with my iPad next to me - shows how bad things are getting.

    Didn't make any transfers and Payet dropped.....that's going to be annoying for later - lets just hope we get some solid enough Aguero news

    Similar context for Lingard in terms of little data. Bournemouth’s manager has come out and stated that King is going to play striker. He’s made it clear that King is above Glen Murray in the pecking order, citing King’s pace as the reason for his promotion. King is probably my pick. He boasts a goal contribution average of 3.06. So that’s second best in the team. So he either shoots or creates a chane 3.06 times a game on average. If you actually look at the other players around him with similar shooting contribution stats, they have around a 50% goal contribution stat, whereas King has 0%. The top 4 players in the team to have scored around 3 goals/assists all have a goal contribution% of on average 40%. So we should see King get closer to this % if he keeps his spot which I believe he will in the short term. This suggests, he’s due to score, coupled with the fact he's nailed on as striker, this guy seems a great pick at 4.6.

    A player like this obviously comes with risks. Bournemouth fans don’t like him. In fact I was reading somewhere that some fans are quoted as saying that he is the worst Bournemouth player to don the jersey. Take that as you do. It doesn’t mean much for me. He looked good against Newcaslte and he probably should have scored. If you simulate that game 100 times, King probably scores in most. It was a freak game.

    Same with Lingard, the data I have is probably skewed from one match; the Newcastle match. He had 4 shots I think that match.

    King also has an expected goals stat of 1. He should have scored a goal already.

      His finishing was awful v Newcastle.

      At the end of the day it doesn't REALLY matter that much. If you're bringing in one of these players it's likely as bench fodder so you aren't intending to play them any week anyway.

      Really you're probably better off with neither of Lingard or King until we know they're nailed and neither of them probably are right now at least in the short to medium term.

              you have a point. This week is an interesting one. Vardy in doubt might not play and King playing a Swansea team regressing like a brick tonne, could score. I think it is worth the 0.2 over Surman or Fletcher.

                Just watching the highlights of the Newcastle game now (haven't seen it since watching live) - perhaps his finishing wasn't THAT bad but it still wasn't great.

                As the commentator just said "Who knows what might have been if Callum Wilson was out there"

                If he keeps getting these chances he will have to take one but they're not going to play Newcastle every week. But then again they also won't play Elliot 🙂

      He is only ahead of Murray cause Murray reached training late a day before the game and he was punished.. Murray needed a kick up his ar$e and King actually looked ok vs Newcastle hence the comments. Their fixtures in the short term are poor and Murray will take his place back(he is FAR better than King) soon enough cause King will find a way to screw this up. I just dont see the appeal.. this is basically a stat heads vs ppl who've seen King play the past few years debate on here the past few days 😆 .. i do hope you are right though cause i dont care who score goals for Bournemouth as long as someone does!

          Been betting on em in the lower leagues for so long i cant help but root for em now and then.. Wilson and Ritchie were heroes for me last season. Enjoyed watching em play so much that it's sad to see them suffering this season with Wilson out and Arter for the first few weeks and Gradel etc.. Love their playing style

      Not a long term option for me, you will be lucky to get 75mins/game from him.

      Immediate fixtures aren't great either, BOU will concede possession in most of their upcoming games.

      Don't see his appeal asides from being cheap and OOP

    Why are people considering Josh king? Or indeed anyone from Bournemouth at all? They're in absolute free fall. Honestly, perez at Newcastle is a miles, miles better option as a cheap third forward.

    Nyom didn’t feature for Cameroon over the international break due to some paperwork issues, and could be made unavailable by his national team, although that isn’t a likely scenario.

    Does anyone understand this? I am clueless on how internationals can affect Nyom's league matches in this way.

          It's tougher when you look at it like that. I think it's all square but Kane's form and Dann's goalscoring habit tilts me towards B.

          It's the question of if Ward is nailed as well.
          He should be, but his non-start vs Liverpool is worrying. The closest I got to an answer was that his replacement, Kelly, was a former Liverpool player, and he made the XI over Ward due to that.

            Yeah that's a fair point. I expect Ward to start but there is a little bit of doubt after his omission last week. Ward actually has a higher PPG than Dann, which is a little surprising.

            I'm just not sure about Kane's short term fixtures. WHU, CHE, wba just doesn't look easy on paper to me. Could even avoid the hit with C below.....thoughts?

            C) GW13: Bony -> Vardy
            GW14: Mane/KDB & Pelle -> 4.5/7.2 & Aguero
