FantasyBet Focus – Gameweek 14

There are four compelling fixtures this Sunday and FantasyBet have created a special £400 guaranteed contest to cover those matches for a £5 entry fee.

In the early kick-off, Spurs attempt to extend their 12-match unbeaten streak at home to London rivals Chelsea. Next up, West Ham seek a first win in four against a West Brom side that defeated Arsenal at the Hawthorns last Saturday.

In the 4.15pm kick-offs, the Gunners will be desperate to bounce back from their Baggies loss as they travel to promoted Norwich, whilst Liverpool look to continue their renaissance under Jurgen Klopp against a Swansea defence with a single clean sheet in the last 11 Gameweeks.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses the same initial player prices and has a similar scoring system.

Check out this video to see how team creation works.

MY TEAM

This is the team I will play in the freeroll:

Jack Butland (4.5m)
Scott Dann (5m)
Hector Bellerin (5.5m)
Alberto Moreno (5m)
Alexis Sanchez (11m)
Yannick Bolasie (6.5m)
Roberto Firmino (8m)
Mesut Ozil (8.5m)
Harry Kane (9.5m)
Romelu Lukaku (8m)
Odion Ighalo (5m)

KEY PICKS

Jack Butland – the Stoke number one is finally enjoying a breakthrough season with several man of the match performances showcasing his shot-stopping abilities. Butland has served up five clean sheets in the last six matches ahead of a trip to the Stadium of Light, where Sunderland sit joint-bottom in the top-flight for attempts on goal in front of their own fans.

Hector Bellerin – Arsenal’s pacey right-back seems to thrive on his travels, with both his assists arriving on the road so far. Bearing in mind that the Gunners have two clean sheets in their last three away matches, Bellerin could be in line for points at both ends of the pitch as he makes his way to Norwich.

Roberto Firmino – with uncertainty still surrounding Philippe Coutinho’s fitness, we’ve gone for his compatriot Firmino instead. The summer signing has been reinvigorated by the arrival of Jurgen Klopp and welcomes Swansea to Anfield in fine form, having delivered a goal and two assists away to Man City last weekend.

Odion Ighalo – it’s fair to say the Nigerian has been key to Watford’s attacking potential this season. Ighalo has played a part in 80% of the Hornets’ away strikes, courtesy of four goals and two assists, and pays visit to a Villa side still reeling from their 4-0 loss at Everton last weekend.

THIS WEEK’S GAME PICKS

The Grand weekend is FantasyBet’s biggest game, where your compete for a £1000 guaranteed prize pool on a £5.50 buy in.

As always the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet is the weekly freeroll, where you can set up a free team and compete against the team above for a £100 pot.

FantasyBet have also set up a special £400 guaranteed contest to cover the four Sunday matches with a £5 entry fee.

LAST WEEK

A joint 19th spot in the £1000 game was still just enough to produce some winnings, with £9.66 added to the pot. Bouncebackability topped the league to scoop £240 – Everton trio of captain Romelu Lukaku (28 points), Ross Barkley (19) and Seamus Coleman (10) made up a large chunk of his 94 points.

Elsewhere I had limited success, though the free-roll team from last week’s focus managed a respectable eighth-place finish from 263 entries, leaving me on a round £110 ahead of Gameweek 14.

THIS WEEK’S STAKE

I will enter the contests mentioned in the Games Picks section above, as well as the £50 flash freeroll and FFScout Picks League for a total stake of £7.70.

In addition, I’ll be taking on Trust John, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He’ll be going up against me in a specially set up head-to-head game for a chance to win free entry into a £500 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22.

The Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £600 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE

WorldCupDanB topped last week’s Scout Picks League with 88 points – captaining Harry Kane paid off alongside high-scoring Toffees duo Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku.

Despite handing the armband to Harry Kane, the Scout Picks accumulated a total of 62 points, putting us in 47th place.

Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League, with a £1.10 stake for entry. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.

Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

Another chance to get Aguero's points, doubled, when very few people have him.

This is one of the reasons I'm starting to get tempted by a switch from Lukaku to Aguero (c).

It's not often Aguero (c) is a differential.

Yep, he can score a brace in 60 minutes, no problem.

Not convinced by Luka or Sanchez in an away game.

I thought City would walk it a few weeks ago but I have no idea now. Mahrez/Vardy have to be the front runners at the moment, Sanchez has been poor for the most of the season, and while Ozil has been sensational, I kind of feel like he's not a player many would vote for (because he doesn't grab the headlines). However, you'd have to put Ozil way ahead of Sanchez at the moment.

Jürgen: "It is not the most difficult situation in this moment with the strikers because we have Christian, Divock and Roberto."

Hmmmmmmm. Keeps talking up Firmino as a striker. Possibly good when he plays but not so good for rotation.

No way Divock gets PL minutes, Firmino plays alongside Benteke and Studge is constantly injured. Not a huge threat imo

I think Che will shut him out. Sanchez the better of the 2 though I'm prob going Lukaku.

I'm stuck on this one. Would like go Sanchez as gut says he will do well but will probably go Kane anyway in the end.

Klopp on Henderson: he wants to play *chuckles* you can see. He is doing intensive training so we see day by day

Klopp on Sturridge: It's not serious but it's not possible for him to go on as before

Klopp on Benteke: I don't know if he can make 2 games in 3 games. We have to see.

Best one I've seen in last half hour.

No need for Wolly, get Bennett for 3.9, upgrade Gomes to Butland, and Monreal to Bellerin, Rose to Toby if possible

Journos once again not asking about Coutinho in particular. It's almost like they play FPL and don't want us to know.

Not so much choosing vardy over kane, just gunna lose .7m buy selling vardy haha :p

The kane option pretty much leaves me with nothing left in the bank too.

From here on in i reckon there is only one way for Vardy's price and one way for Kane's price...and it ain't in the same direction...

Ighalo, Delolofeu or KDB? One of those is going to warm my bench, but which one?
I want to see Kevin with Silva, it can turn out great.
Ighalo against Villa away, i cant see anyone else from Watford to score.
Deulofeu, for me he's better than Ross, but yet unproven. Robbed (:p) from assisst last week. Can be differential.
    Thoughts?
