The Scout Cups Reminder

Just a very brief reminder that entry for both the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII and Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup VI is set to close at 9am on Tuesday morning. Once that deadline has passed, we’ll process the results and will then announce the qualifiers and First Round draw on Wednesday afternoon.

Prior to that, we’ll also try to give an early indication on the likely qualifying scores on Monday evening or as early as possible on Tuesday.

To enter the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII, all you have to do is fill out the entry form here.

Fantasy Football Scout Members can also enter the Members Cup VI via this entry form.

You will be asked to verify your FPL team ID – note that, if you fail to confirm your ID, you will not be entered. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of current entries.

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup entry list can be found here.

The Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup entry list can be found here.

As mentioned previously, the First Round is set to take place over Gameweek 23, i.e. this coming weekend. If you’re looking for more information on the cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

    1.) Baines, Toby and Targett
    2.) Baines, Dier, Wollschied
    3.) Jagielka, Toby, Wollschied

    Other two defenders are Daniels and Bellerin

    Help please 🙂

      1 or 3 . I'm not sure about Targett and his playing time so let's say 3.

    Lost on last page
    Schmeichel, Butland
    Bellerin, Dawson, Rose, Williams, S.Taylor
    Eriksen, Ozil, Mahrez, Payet, KDB
    Lukaku, Kane, Ighalo

    A few questions here guys.

    A) Which keeper to play? (Currently feeling Butland)
    B) Bench Eriksen or KDB
    C) Do I pull the trigger on getting rid of KDB so I can get Aguero next week? Or shall I save it and make both transfers next week?

    MOST BPL CLEAN SHEETS IN 2015/16:

    10 - Cech, Hart
    9 - Butland

            You do realize, for that to happen, Lloris needs to overtake Cech and Hart? Difference of 3 clean sheets already. Arsenal and City will really need to drop off with Spurs getting a lot of cleanies for that to happen. Not happening.

      Until I saw last night I didn't even realise Hart had so many clean sheets this season. I think it'll definitely be out of the two that currently hold top spot. It could be dependent on Kompany/Coquelin's return too although we seem to be faring ok without Coq at the moment.

    Morning guys! What would you do with this lot?

    Butland
    Walker, Bellerin, Simpson
    KDB, Arnautovic, Mahrez, Özil
    Lukaku, Aguero, Kane

    subs: Hennessey --- Alli, Wollscheid, Ward --- 2 FT, 0.9 ITB

    A) KDB & Arnautovic -> Silva & Payet
    B) Arnautovic -> Barkley and save FT
    C) Alli & Mahrez -> Gosling & Payet
    D) Walker & KDB -> Baines & Silva

              This. Naismith is at 42.5k wages at Everton. Assuming they match his wags, even then Austin is far economical if you calculate the total outlay from both the clubs. On top of that, Austin better than Naismith

    Given that next GW we'll know more about which teams might have a DGW25, surely it's a massive advantage to save FT this week?

          But at the moment I have strikers priced at more than 9m x 3. So if he starts outperforming them then I'd give him consideration at a similar price or less.

    Shouuld i wait for a double gameweek and go a rogue captaincy choice?

      You are overstating the importance of pass completion for those attacking players who are responsible for actually creating the chances. Think of Iniesta. When he was at his peak, his pass completion rate was at its lowest. But he created the most and the best chances.

        Iniesta's pass completion rarely dropped below 80, and was typically above 85. De Bruyne's is woeful, however you look at it.

                "Now 71% passing isn’t very good, but it’s something that I thought was strange too. Eriksen is normally very clean with the ball, but passing through a stacked defense for the entire match is hard. Then I dug into the numbers and noticed 13 crosses in the match. Crosses are usually completed at a 20% clip. Eriksen’s non-cross completion was 88%, but he was 2/13 on crosses.

                Edit: Dan Kennett points out below in a comment that passing stats already have crosses removed, which I did not know. Read his point below for more illumination."

                    From OPTA's site

                    "Of course, the event based nature of the data is such that you can calculate any combination such as chipped passes over 20 yards in the final third that go sideways. Opta also logs whether the pass is from open play or a dead ball situation such as a corner, a free kick, a throw or goalkeeper distribution from hands or goal kicks. - See more at: http://optasports.com/news-area/blog-optas-event-definitions.aspx#sthash.in1m9Ym1.dpuf"

        almost a negligible stat imo

        just look at the top of that table

        fernando, mata, scheneiderlin, afellay

        defensive mids with high pass completion because all of their passes are sidetoside, doesnt not make them better players or fantasy assets

        1. Camp No No
          • 10 Years
          8 years, 3 months ago

          It's not negligible, but you have to put it in the context. Both of the team playing style and player's role in it.

          Generally, it is the more important the lower the player plays, because you can't often afford to miss a pass if you're playing in defence. Great creative players often have a kind of low pass accuracy in total, because they don't search for the secure pass but for the final pass.

      Kevin De Bruyne is a great player to be honest you don't score 10 goals and provide 21 assists in one year for being rubbish. The game against Palace was a blip for him, we don't play 4-4-2 regularly so I expect him to go back to his normal ways against West Ham. Nonetheless our away form is tragic but it's the whole City.
