The ScoutCast – Episode 181 – Clutching

Rarely during the 180-episode history of the ScoutCast have I felt so under fire; forced to curl up in a ball and defend myself by any means necessary.

Reeling from the first dramatic failing of my no-Aguero policy, I recruit Luke to join myself, Andy and Jonty, only to find that I’ve set up an unwanted 3 vs 1 scenario.

A ten-minute tirade, during which I desperately clutch at every tangible straw, has me desperately trying to justify my Aguero stance, while my trio of co-hosts listen on, jab and prod and allow me to tie myself in knots.

Eventually I manage to deflect the blows and switch attentions to another round of community questions. We review failing heavy-hitters, a blossoming Baines and a resurgent Rooney, before the traditional preview of the Gameweek to come.

I have Two transfers what is the best way to get Agureo in?
    A. Kane/Lukaku and Kolarov > Agureo and Daniels
    B. Ighalo and KDB> Agureo and Alli
    C. Kolarov KDB Ighalo > Agureo Dier and Wijnaldum/Barkley (-4)
    D. Kolarov KDB Ighalo > Agureo Simpson and Erikson/Ramsey (-4)
    E. Kolarov > downgrade and wait until next week to get Agureo and a decent midfielder

      A or E.

I'd ship Kane and Kolarov for Kun and Daniels.

I'm really stumped as to why lukaku would now be top of the captain poll? I get that he's at home, but swans have been good defensively.
    I understand Aguero captainers.
But is Kane being overlooked when he had 8 shots last week and now playing a rubbish palace?
    What am I missing here?

Made me wish it was somebody meaner than Hazard, somebody who would have actually kicked that kid's ass. Like Barton, or M'Vila, or who other crazy b**tards are there? Vardy. That would have been something to see.

To be fair, 1) he deserved at least to be taken out of the game (the kid that is) and 2) he wasn't kicked to ribs, but play acted that he was.

And at that point, that was just so disgusting that I wished it was somebody meaner there. Even at Chelsea there would have been Terry and now even Costa (not back then though), who might have kicked that brat's ass when he was pretending to be injured for having the ball kicked away from his hands.

              😆

That's true too. It's also maybe the biggest religion in the world, and has a law of its own and everything. But in this case maybe there's also a point that nobody should get beaten for wasting time. But the refs definitely should have sent that ball boy off the stadium for his antics. His sole duty is to get the ball back to the field as fast as possible, not to steal the ball and run away with it.

Well, Lukaku is purely based on the fixture. Most of us believe he will be good for a goal at least this GW.

Aguero - i think they will want revenge for the loss they had to WHU earlier in the season.

Kane is a decent choice, but he isnt that strong away. His shots on target where not such big chances tho.

      Thats about it i believe

Why on earth would there be more pressure to beat City than Swansea? 3 points is 3 points, it's not like City are our competitors. In fact, there's probably more pressure to beat Swansea.

Me too. But on the other hand, I can watch the highlights from matches there and it looks good. The football culture looks crazily passionate there. It's easy to understand he enjoys it, and Tigres are playing some quite nice football (at least in the highlights, lol).

To be honest, after his brilliant last season at Marseille, I was surprised there were no serious takers for him in Europe, ones that would have competed with Tigres. I always thought he would have been a great player for Southampton, a serious upgrade from Pellè for free. Because Southampton is the one club in PL that has been crying for a good CF for ages. And they like to make good business.

Thanks lads 3 different opinions there so hasn't really helped but good to see peoples thoughts.

3 plum home fixtures in the next 4 so think it's worth the risk even though they can't keep a clean sheet.

I was going to lose Bellerin for Baines and buy Merte later for Arse defence.

      Not sure now

I do not own Toby...but I would keep him, especially for his attacking threat. I would ship put Bellerin, find him worse than Toby.

I was set on Lukaku, but changed to Aguero yesterday as West Ham's 'shots conceded in central areas' is very high.

And yes, that may well be the geekiest FPL sentence I have ever typed.

It was either lose KDB or Kane, I think KDB and Ighalo could really come back to bite me, but more comfortable losing those than Kane.

I might consider benching Mahrez since I'm assuming you are playing Butland

Tough choice but probably better lose KDB. I'm benching him this week, so I recommend to bench his replacement also.

I know Mahrez has no form and no pens now but Leicester had really hard games except those 2 in which he missed penalties - liv,MCI,tot.
