The ScoutCast – Episode 182 – Hollow

So I did it. After a couple of weeks attempting to resist Sergio Aguero and, despite meticulously constructing a convincing case to avoid him, I went back on my word.

Recovering from the dramatic climb-down, I felt rather hollow heading into this ScoutCast, with Jonty, Andy and Luke all too keen to watch on while I tucked into humble pie.

Not surprisingly, I spend a good part of this episode justifying the back tracking, before I join my co-hosts in offering views on another bout of community questions. We discuss the Lukaku exit plans, Ozil vs Sanchez and contemplate options between the sticks with Jack Butland losing his shine.

Then we move on to the Gameweek preview, as I desperately try to find some joy in pondering which mid-price defender to sign heading into Saturday’s deadline. Sigh.

          Not really sure i would keep Baines over Moreno at the moment. Also, i would keep Wolly. Would just do Lukaku > Paloschi or someone else if you are really adamant not getting Vardy

          It would give you -4 and would be set.

            Kept Baines for next two fixtures, west brom and villa. Plus I have zero faith in Liverpool, just wanted rid of Moreno, I fancy Khazri + Defoe to punish Mignolet + co.

            Lukaku -> Naismith was done yesterday, was also considering Afobe but he's up against Arsenal and keeps getting subbed early..

            Paloschi was another option and looks a great shout for this week but then look at his next 3 fixtures, arsenal, saints, spurs iirc.

              Yea, fair enough! I am debating getting Ivan as i said for Delaney for a hit. I am kinda sad that with 68 points i got a red arrow again last gw. Cant catch a break at all lately. I do hope Ivan will deliver or he could easily get me 0 points this GW.

                I would personally do Delaney -> Ivan, but I'm mad and have since lumped on Ivan.. Fancy Paloschi to start scoring this week, or Siggy to keep up his form.

                  Yea, i can see it easily being 0-0 or a very high scoring game. Hope Ivan is in the points that way tho. I havent had a defender score for me that i fielded since Kolarovs goal. So yea... Really sad.

              I brought in Vardy. Reckon he'll get one against City, but nothing against Arsenal. Costa could get a couple against Newcastle, but that's it so not much in it. Much prefer having a Leicester player for GW27 and GW30, plus their fixtures are great.

              Think you are right about the saved money being put to use on Ivanovic, though. I have 1FT and contemplating Moreno > Ivan.

        Brad Smith is quick and decent on the ball. Terrible in the air and a work in progress.
        Moreno is like a winger with no defensive duties/capabilities. Very frustrating player to own.
        In all fairness Moreno shouldnt be the hardest to contest for that spot.

    Arsene Wenger has confirmed at his morning media conference that Danny Welbeck will play for the club's under-21 team today.

    Wenger said: "He needs to play a few games before coming back. He needs to be patient.”

    He also confirmed Tomas Rosicky will miss the game at Bournemouth with an injury he picked up in the Burnley game.
