Almost a complete replica.......I don't dare check the points swing on my:

        A. Williams > Moreno
        B. Huth > Sagna

transfers, but I think it might be approaching 100pts 😮

And then there's Dawson. My defence has been in tatters all season.

            Huth > Sagna in GW 11. Since then 74pts v 49pts

            Willaims > Moreno in GW 16. Since then 49pts v 20pts

            Okay so 54pts 😕

Only made four defence transfers all season.....I now know why.

    Butland (Hennessey)
    Toby, VVD, Bellerin (Simpson, Daniels)
    Sanchez, Ozil, Mahrez, Payet, Alli
    Aguero, Kane (Ighalo)

    1 FT and 0.0 ITB.

Tempted to move Butland to Forster. Also weighing up whether or not I'll want Vardy come GW27, not sure how to fund though. Would need to sell Payet/Ozil which I don't love.

I know the Southampton defence looks awesome, but anyone looking for a cheap defender might want to consider Collins. 4.3 and you couldn't pick a better two upcoming fixtures.

    Morning DZ!

    Very tempted with Southampton defence.

Do we think Ighalo could buy 2 games into the team? Watford look horrible now, but the fixtures are there (Palace and Bournemouth next 2).

Pencilled in Ighalo to Vardy and Firmino to Some Mid for GW27.

If Ighalo could be given the game against Bournemouth, I might just get Southampton defence. No blanks, not even in GW30 helps.

      • 9 Years

Watford played 3 DMs yesterday , so can't really judge Ighalo on last night IMO

I am playing Ighalo next 2 GWs

        • 11 Years
        8 years, 3 months ago

He is the only threat for Watford this season since GW1 and I like owning him.

I just think Vardy's fixtures from GW27 onwards are too good, has better stats in last 4 than Ighalo and they have played some really tough teams.

Vardy against Norwich when there are 4 teams blanking is a captaincy shout.

        1. Eden Hazardous
          • 9 Years
          8 years, 3 months ago

          I will be captaining Sanchez

Also Ighalo is probable to play in GW 30 , so you might be wasting a FT

          1. AK ⭐
            • 11 Years
            8 years, 3 months ago

Don't think Leeds are going to knock out Watford so I am guessing the probability is higher for a blank for Ighalo. We'll know that by GW27 though.

We do know for sure that Vardy will play GW27 and 30 and has Norwich for 27.

Both of them have been disappointing in all honesty. Dawson a bit less than Moreno though.

Both of the defenders should have also been on the score sheet in the last 2 weeks.

morning dzzz, can i take this moment a vent a little 🙁

from 256 last seson to 800k...never seen a fall from grace this bad. every marginal decision this season has gone wrong...been playing in the hope that i will eventually clilmb up as the season goes along but no signs, just false dawns...guess its fitting being a united fan!

My plight over the last 5 gws:
gw21: benched 12 point ramsey vs. pool as i already had ozil and didnt wanna dbl up. started mane (watford home)
gw22: ozil didnt play so no benched points by default
gw23: benched 13 point alli vs palace as i had kane..started ramsey ( chelsea home game)
gw24: was going to bench ramsey in favour of alli but hated ramsey so much for costing me points in the previous gameweeks that i took him out for firmino and started firmino over alli...another 10 points lost
gw25: this was the week i thought that finally chances i had an easier benching problem. had both vardy and mahrez and made sense to bench one of them against city one....i wont comment what decision i made 🙁 🙁

the probability of benching your highest points players for 4gws out of 5 is just crazeeee..apart from one bad decision (gw23), i would probably make the same decisions again...

on the verge of giving up this season...100 points behind ML...gap is almost impossible to catch up...50 points lost on benching over last few gws

Play the DGW's right and you can make up 100. I was 110 going into GW28 last year, and by the time GW31 was done (Two DGW's later), I had cut it to 23. Wound up winning my ML by 17 at seasons end

Who would be your priorities to ditch or bring in here?

    Schmeichel, Butland..
    Toby, Francis, Bellerin, Collins, Ward
    Sanchez, Firmino, Mahrez, Payet, Stanislas
    Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

    1.4m in account, 2ft

I think I'd keep the team as it is and probably shift Stanislas out for a midfielder who has a decent fixture in GW27. You'd have 2 FTs again next week and you could transfer out Firmino and Lukaku and bench Aguero.

    Save FT?

    Butland
    Bertrand - Moreno - Williams
    Sanchez - Ozil - Payet - Mahrez
    Aguero (C) - Kane - Ighalo

    Myhill - Alli - Francis - Alderweireld (1FT - 0.1 ITB)

    Cheers.

When will people start asking questions about Leicester doping à la Sociedad 2002/03? Their fitness and energy levels are insane, Hamez Vardez is bullying defenders twice his size and Mahrez is one of the biggest ballers out there.

No one is saying they are not. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are jaded.

Drinkwater had a decent game. Silva is quality and he would leave a lot of defenders dead.

If they are on drugs , they will be 100% fit which they are not and hence relatively jaded

Well that's the obvious thing to do when your opponents are individually lot better than you , play as a team sit back and counter.

Man city is jaded because of fixtures and lei have only EPL to play .

Erm, that's what they have been doing for most of the season against the big sides. It doesn't mean they are jaded at all, it's just a tactic. Especially since they went 1-0 up so early on

You've probably never played football before. You actually build up match fitness as the season goes on. If you play many games in a short period of time, then you get PHYSICALLY tired. That hasn't been any team in January - decent games between games and no midweek commitments, as of yet.

And above you've claimed that every PL team is jaded? Can't understand your logic mate, sorry

The point of the discussion was if they are on drugs and you guys are just arguing for arguement a sake cos I said something negative about Leicester

The post was they are on drugs. I was answering to that. If they are fit after playing 10 matches in the last 40 days , they are on drugs

My point is they are less fit than what they were 40 days back, hence not on drugs

Man City played more than 10 games in the above period , hence less fit than Leicester

Listen, Jaded means physically tired or exhausted. Which they are not. So the point doesn't stand. As for the comparison with the drug thing, have you ever seen a team on drugs play to even remotely make an assumption about how they play and how they don't?

Anyway, I think there is no point of this discussion anymore really. I want to see where you're coming from and I am trying my best, so far, no good though.

                Are you serious?

I'm not implying they are on drugs at all. I'm simply saying they didn't look jaded at all against City. They did look very tired against Liverpool on Boxing Day and against City last time, but that's completely understandable since they don't have squads that are as deep as Arsenal/City/United etc.

That's why teams rotate, as players get tired. It was the case over the Christmas period for some, but ever since January we've been back to a weeks break between games, so I'm not sure how you've reached that conclusion 🙂

Exactly. And even for other sides, they've only had FA Cup to worry about, where a majority of them play second string sides. Hence the first team gets a rest

Chose two strikers Post GameWeek 27 to play alongside Vardy

    A) Aguero
    B) Lukaku
    C) Kane

After seeing Big Rom and Everton play yesterday I m having doubt of ditching him. Him and Barkley were on fire last night, I know stoke are in horrific form but everton were breath taking. Aguero will always be aguero so i guess it's either Kane or Lukaku who has to go ?

I think this question would be best answered after the FA Cup 5th Round games. It'll also depend on who has a blank in GW30 and who doesn't.

this is for me the best answer - Unfortunately this blank will have a major say on our decision.
I read the community article abt planning on the blank in gw 30 and the double gameweeks.
to be honest the author put a lot of thought into it but i think if you plan "too much" for the blank then you miss out on potential points prior to the blank. These potential points you probably won't recover in the blank therefore long term planning (6 GWs+) is more detrimental than profitable imo...

It really depends, anything you or I say right now could change by GW30. If Lukaku has a blank in GW30 even, would you want him at all? 2 blanks in 4 gameweeks if that happens.

I'd say hold your strikers for now. You obviously have Vardy who doesn't have a blank, so you're safe there.

don't currently have him hence the question. I held lukaku this week after much debate waiting for the presser to see if martinez was gonna play him. Patience paid off and he came good vs stoke.
currently on kane aguero lukaku. Vardy will come in post arsenal game hence my question.
don't know who to transfer out for him. Spurs don't blank in 27 so i guess its either lukaku or aguero...

Has to be Lukaku for me. But for what it's worth, FA Cup 5th round is just before GW27, so you'd know about the blanks in 30.

In case both Lukaku and Aguero have blanks, it might be wise to get rid of both and get them back if you still have your Wildcard left. They'd have 2 more games than other teams on normal schedule.

Everton have a really good run 33-38, so maybe Agüero and Kane and then transfer the latter out for Lukaku.

That new 10.5 million striker might get some game time. I Prefer Kane Aguero Vardy myself.

Depends on the blanking situation for GW30. Aguero for sure; he can sit on the bench of he gets a GW30 blank. The 3rd should be from a team with a guaranteed GW30 fixture. I'm thinking Austin or Afobe at,

We know LEI, STO, SOU and NEW will have a GW30 fixture. Let's assume the worse and say the only others after the FA 5th rd would be BOU and SWA. Here is my thinking on getting to a decent 11 for GW30.

    Current team

    Butland, Elliot
Bell, Dann, Fonte, G Johnson, Simpson
    Sanchez, Ozil, Mahrez, Payet, Ali
    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

    GW27: Ozil->Arny
    GW28:Payet->Siggy
GW29:Kane->Austin (If he's regularly starting by then, if not then Afobe)
    GW30: ALi+Dann->WInji+A Williams

    GW30 team

    Butland
A WIlliams, Fonte, Simpson, G Johnson
    Mahrez, WInji, Arny, Siggy
    Austin, Vardy

    Elliot, Bellerin, Sanchez, Aguero

I honestly think removing kane and alli makes no sense at all just to field a full XI with BOU in gw 31. Good to plan ahead but blank gw sometimes clouds your judgement over better quality players from now until then. With 3 fixtures you are good to go starting 8 or 9 players. I'm not sure how many points you expect out of players like wijnaldum and austin with not the most favorable fixtures during that gw.

It was pretty clear when he got injured. The whole dimension of the game changed.

I think I'll start making notes about it. No cleanie for Stoke if Shawcross out. No cleanie for Southampton if Forster is out.

Indeed. Another factor might be that Muniesa is an extremely poor defender.

Why did they let Huth go though. I am not saying this now because Leicester are doing so well and all. But Stoke's rearguard were Shawcross and Huth under Pulis era and they bossed every team's attackers.

I don't think Huth was starting early last season, so he left on loan to Leicester.

It was in January last season I remember when he signed for Leicester. Looked like a brilliant purchase at that time. A defender of his calibre going to a team that were doomed for relegation, sitting on 20th position and don't seem like buying a point.

                  The story..

Hi Fortune, assuming you're a Hammer, do you think Antonio is nailed on? Who would be a threat to him in the team if not?

When we have a fit strike (Carroll/Sakho) Valencia will go back to left wing.

Antonio will be competing with Moses and even Payet when Lanzini gets back soon and plays in the middle.

If he goes on a few blanks would expect some rotation tbh

              Sakho
              Valencia Payet Lanzini
              Song Noble

That would be the normal front 6?

Leaves Carroll, Moses, Antonio, Kouyate, Obiang, Jelivic

Wow, thanks, that was very explanatory.

Two last questions, when do you expect Lanzini to come back? And do you think, as a fan, Antonio could be nailed to start for the next 5-6 league games?

Personally I dont rate Moses to much. Prefer Antonio much harder worker.

Antonio has been playing well and think he will keep a starting spot for now, but will have high compettion to keep the spot.

Lanzini should be back in about 2 weeks.

Key to remember is Valencia normally goes LW. Only playing upfront due to no fit strikers. When players come back will be a bit of rotation similar to Everton

Who are we eyeing as our 5th midfielder in GW27? I am assuming most will bench Aguero and play 3-5-2 or even 4-4-2.

Bournemouth mid? Stoke mid? Anyone else?

Moses, Valencia, Antonio, Payet for 2 wing spots
          Lanzini in the middle

Not sure how it will work when Lanzini is back. Both are guarenteed starters, they might just float around during the game. Will be exciting to have them playing together with Sakho back up top.

Poor team effort, If Carroll is back and fit for Norwich I would expect a few goals. Valencia is just to streaky and not good enough to really nail down that lone striker role.

I've got Alli, Payet, Ozil, Mahrez atm. Since Firmino will probably fall 0.1 or 0.2 due to the blank and has tough fixtures after I might ship him.

I could be a total dullard and bring in Lingard to save any future benching headaches, though.

      Currently have:

      Ozil - Firmino - Payet - Mahrez - Alli
      Aguero - Kane - Vardy

I will probably move Firmino along for Sanchez. But if he does really well against Villa to, that may be a tough change to make.

Got Toby over him in GW22. He'd only missed one game for the season for that point but I thought I'd pay the extra for the extra nailedness plus the goal threat of Toby.

If I were you I'd probably either make a sideways trade to Toby if you want Spurs defensive cover or ship for Azpi/VVD, Spurs have many games coming up so I can't see the fullback rotation stopping
