The ScoutCast – Episode 187 – Flipchart

We’ve been left hanging for weeks but finally, on 3pm on Tuesday, we were handed the Double Gameweek details and could begin our planning in earnest.

This week’s ScoutCast is dominated by double Gameweek chatter, as your community queries hone in on the variables, strategies and planning involved in exploiting the fixture pile-up to the full.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we attempt to make sense of it all, turning to a virtual flipchart to digest and communicate some of the options on offer.

It’s hardcore stuff that takes into extra time in an exhaustive 80-minute episode.

This was first aired live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening, Be sure to subscribe in order to get wind of future broadcasts.

You can view that live version via the larger player below, or indulge on the directors cut audio stream via this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Can see Vardy on the scoresheet against Bournmouth.

WC 33 People getting WBA defenders because they have a DGW 34 and a fixture in 35 need to think again.

    GW 33 - city(a)
    GW 35 - spurs(a)

My first possible transfer post since DGW news, please please please can I get plenty of opinions to avoid reposting.

MASSIVELY unsure whether to WC in 32/33 or 36 SO..........

Fonte --> Dawson this week? Looks a reasonable move anyway + Dawson is a DGW'er so keeps my options open and gives me the International break to devise a plan.

    DDG / HART
    BELLERIN Walker Simpson Wolly Fonte
    OZIL Mahrez Siggy Arnie Alli
    AGUERO Kane Vardy

2FT. Thoughts on my move? I think Villa due to score this weekend so avoiding Williams.

1.5m ITB & 1 FT. Does my bench look right for this week?

    Morning guys,

Martial on penalties is rather interesting....

Would you save your WC until GW36 if you could get this team out for no hits in GW34 with Ozil/Sanchez as triple captain?

    ELLIOT
    BELLERIN, JEVANS, MORENO/ROJO
    OZIL, SANCHEZ, FIRMINO, ANTONIO
    AGUERO, MARTIAL, Kane

    Hennessey, Mahrez, Simpson, Wolly

GW35: Martial -> Vardy (bench Antonio)
    GW36: WC
    GW37: BB with 15 DGWers

Payet and Lukaku are the obvious omissions from GW34, but Antonio sort of covers Payet and with Lukaku blanking in GW35 perhaps he can wait until GW36. I also wonder whether he'll get a rest prior to the semi given EVE having nothing much to play for in the league. This route means my 11 in GW35 is pretty strong (Kane, Mahrez, Vardy, Simpson)

      seems sensible imo
between martial/lukaku too , will be tough to choose (gw31/32 may help) also not fan of rojo/evans prefer DDG/Smalling clyne/Sakho

Yeah. In isolation I prefer Lukaku but the extra cash means Mahrez over Alli.

        Mahrez & Martial

        Vs

        Alli & Lukaku

        Whatcha reckon?

as I said gw31/32 and IB may help but generally leaning towards M&M because of Martial fixtures + Mahrez ownership

Ooooh, could also just ignore Antonio & get Martial & Lukaku, keeping some cash back for Lukuku -> Kane in Gw35.

So the above squad but swap Antonio for Alli & Lukaku for Kane (Alli on the bench in 34)

I'm in the same boat, but with:

      Hart

      Koscielny Clyne/Jagielka(x2) Ivanovich

      Ozil(TC) Firmino(x2) Antonio(x2) Mahrez

      Kun Lukaku(x2) Kane

Bench: Hennessey / Siggy / Daniels / Simpson

      X2 means 2 double GW

So, I have mahrez and ivan and match your lane as far as single game week goes.

I like it. And considering OR doesn't really mean much, and I'm inside top 100k, I think saving my wildcard for GW 36 and BB 37 will be useful in my Mini league for 2 reasons. 1. I can copy the 2nd place team in the final weeks to ensure the championship or 2. If I somehow lose my 63 point lead I will have the opportunity to change my team and go for it.

      Thoughts?

Very strong GW34 line-up with the exception of the obvious omissions that you are aware of.

Would be reluctant to TC Sanchez until he demonstrates more worthy form.

Quick question that hinges on my DW choices

Does your 4 PT hits count to your monthly total.

So if I made a 16 PT hit in GW 37, would that 16 points factor into my monthly score for the mini league?

In non h2h leagues, points hits are taken one week later. That is my understanding.

I'm currently planning on a GW33 WC (unimaginative) and having looked at my team next week I believe it will be an optimum time to AOA with all my midfielders (except Siggy) playing at home in a favourable matchup. That being the case, I think I should make a one-week punt. Thoughts?

    A. Targett to Williams
    B. Save and play Fuchs
    C. AOA this week (power 8 listed below and includes Siggy, Kun and Kane)

Also, who to bench this week (first benching headache this season!)
    A. Arnie
    B. Vardy
    C. Ozil
    D. Payet
    E. Mahrez

    Butland
    Bellerín Simpson Alderweireld
    Firmino Özil Mahrez(c) Alli Sigurdsson
    kane Vardy

    Sub:McCarthy Agüero Wollscheid

    Any Suggestion? Yay or Nay???

Benching Aguero doesn't sit right with me. I know you have a terrible headache but unless he's injured, I'd be playing Kun.

But vardy until 35 and then switch to luk in 36 is the ideal if he got a blank in 35 and then two dgws
