Paddy Says – Gameweek 33

With Wildcard tinkering rolling on until deadline, it’s time to sidetrack to assess whether Paddy Power’s latest odds can shape any last minute strategies.

Before we scan the odds for Anytime Goalscorers and Clean Sheets, a reminder that, if you’re yet to register an account with Paddy, you can claim one of several enhanced odds offers over the weekend.

This week’s European acca offers odds of 20/1 on wins for PS G (at Guingamp), Man City (vs West Brom), Barcelona (at Real Sociedad) and Juventus (at AC Milan).

Switching to Sunday’s live matches, new customers can get a beefed-up 6/1 on Leicester to maintain their relentless title charge with a win at Sunderland.

Later that day, you can choose to back Leicester’s rivals Spurs with Paddy offering 6/1 odds for a home win over Manchester United at White Hart Lane.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18. If you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

Despite the fact he failed to score in four of his last six starts, Sergio Aguero (1.61) has been handed the shortest odds by some margin. Although Man City are a more dominant attacking force with Kevin De Bruyne back on the teamsheet, Aguero may just be thwarted by a West Brom defence that conceded just three goals in their previous four road ties. In response to the Sky Blues’ 4-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend, Wilfried Bony (2.00), Kelechi Iheanacho (2.20) and De Bruyne (2.20) also feature in the top echelons of Paddy’s assessment, with the bookmaker clearly backing goals for Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

Considering that he’s the league’s form frontman – having bagged six goals in four outings – it’s perhaps surprising that Harry Kane is pitched as long as 2.00 ahead of Manchester United’s visit to the Lane. Although Spurs chalked up 12 goals across their last five home encounters, the league’s top scorer is their only representative in our table.

Prior to an enticing home clash against Newcastle United, Graziano Pelle and Charlie Austin (both 2.10) place in the top five. The former has notched three goals in as many starts and will relish the prospect of facing a Magpies rearguard that’s conceded 10 goals in their last four road trips.

Daniel Sturridge is also pitched at 2.10 before Liverpool’s contest against Stoke City at Anfield. Having been rested for the Merseysiders’ Europa League meeting with Borussia Dortmund, the England striker looks well place to net for the third start in four. The Potters have just one clean sheet to their name in 10 outings, ensuring that Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino (both 2.29) also feature in the ranks.

In the wake of Arsenal’s resounding victories over Everton and Watford, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez (both 2.29) are priced keenly for a trip to West Ham United. The latter has recovered from a mid-season slump – notching two goals and three assists in four appearances – and currently ranks fifth for Fantasy Premier League “transfers in” prior to the Gameweek deadline.

While Romelu Lukaku has dominated this week’s Captain Poll ahead of his double Gameweek, Paddy have pitched him mid-table, handing him odds of 2.37 to notch anytime at Watford prior to his midweek visit to Palace.

CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 33

Southampton2.10
Liverpool2.10
Tottenham2.37
Crystal Palace2.50
Chelsea2.50
Bournemouth2.50
Leicester City2.60
Everton2.75

Man City (1.83) have conceded just once in their last four outings and are matched up against a Baggies unit that’s drawn successive blanks, prompting Paddy to grant them the shortest clean-sheet odds.

Southampton (2.10) currently place second as they prepare to host a Magpies attack that failed to score in three of their previous five away match-ups. Liverpool have now have identical odds to the Saints having come in from 2.20, although Jugen Klopp’s side will do well to silence a Stoke outfit that’s notched in every match since the beginning of February.

In the capital, Tottenham (2.37) will fancy their chances of repelling a Man United attack that’s carded three goals in four fixtures; Spurs have conceded just once in their last three league outings.

Crystal Palace and Chelsea both come in at the 2.50 mark before mid-afternoon encounters on Saturday. The Eagles haven’t recorded a shut-out in 12 outings but will face a Norwich City side that has posted blanks in four of their last five away trips. Meanwhile, the Blues pay visit to Swansea City, who have netted in all but one of their previous 13 fixtures.

Despite their two recent heavy defeats, Bournemouth are valued at 2.50 as they travel to face an Aston Villa side that is looking to avoid a fifth consecutive blank. Despite claiming four clean sheets in a row, league leaders Leicester (2.60) are handed relatively long odds for their trip to face relegation threatened Sunderland.

The Grand National is run at 5.15 sandwiched between the afternoon kick offs and the Man C v West Brom game.

Many Clouds was an impressive winner last year after having run in th Cheltenham Gold Cup. A powerful traveller who goes on any ground he is sure to go well.

Silviniaco Continue brings Grade 1 winning form to the table but the trip is very much an unknown.

The Druid's Nephew was travelling as well as anything last year when unseating 5 from home. He bypassed Cheltenham this year and has been trained specifically for this race.

Shutthefrontdoor led until the run in last year until fading into 5th. He has been the one for the money this morning.

Goonyella represents the Irish challenge and has a second in the Scottish National on his CV.

Saint Are was second last year and is primed again for a big run.

The Last Samurai won the trial at Doncaster beating The Druid's Nephew 10l over 3m 2f .

Overall I think the one to back is Goonyella who will relish any further rain

    Good luck.

Thoughts on Vardy and Mahrez to Lukaku and Iwobi, to free up funds for Sanchez and De Bruyne next week?
(Or should I do Alli over Mahrez for this week?

why VvD? There are plenty of options at this price with DGW? Or is it because they play Villa on 35 - other than that looks good.

Only taking a -4 hit this week and a minus -16 next week so I'm happy with that.
