Dugout Discussion – Swansea vs Liverpool

Swansea City and Liverpool begin Sunday’s Premier League action as they do battle at the Liberty Stadium. The Swans need to restore some pride in the wake of two heavy losses on the bounce, while the Reds could extend their unbeaten streak to six matches with a well-rounded performance in Wales.

Swansea came up short in the final third across their previous four outings, recording just three goals and the second-fewest shots on target (11). That trend could be set to continue when you discover that they rank third-bottom for goals (16) and bottom for shots on target (52) in home clashes. On the defensive end, the Welsh club conceded the fourth-most goals (nine) and the joint-second-most big chances (12) in their last four fixtures.

Liverpool boasted the league’s most effervescent attack over their last four match-ups, charting top for goals (12), top for attempts (83) and top for shots on target (29). The Merseysiders also rank fourth for goals (28) and third for shots on target (85) in away fixtures. Only Manchester City have surrendered fewer shots inside the box in road matches than Liverpool (88 compared to 108), which suggests that the hosts may struggle to manufacture clear-cut chances.

Can you imagine if there was ever a game on FPL where one of the teams allowed their opponents to score as many goals as they wanted in protest against something.

Imagine the outcry from benched points or not owning someone 😆

I'd do it. Thinking KDB to Noble as I already have Payet. Now what to do with Aguero is a whole other issue...
