The ScoutCast – Episode 198 – Fickle

Just three weeks ago we dedicated a ScoutCast to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

We collectively toasted his impact Manchester United and swore that he was set to be a mainstay in our squads and seasons.

Just 21-days later, three of the ScoutCast team have sold him on and another teeters on the edge – Jonty is only really hesitating because a four-point hit is involved.

To be fair, Zlatan’s likely biggest fan is missing for this week’s episode. With Granville nursing man-flu, it’s left to Luke to make a return and step in to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we gang up to round on the big Swede.

We’re clearly not the only one’s guilty of this foolishly fickle approach.

This week’s community questions were dominated by talk of a Zlatan exit, whilst also quizzing us on the rise and potential fall of Etienne Capoue, the potential offered by a switch to 3-5-2 and the merits of Theo Walcott as a Fantasy asset. No, really.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

You can view the full Google Hangout version on the second player below, or opt for the old fashioned audio via this link or the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Pool are historically weaker in 'good' fixtures

        Snod is on fire

Payet is a class act and has 4 assists and a goal in last 3 appearances with history of performing consistently over the season

Antonio will gather similar points to payet and is 2.2 cheaper that u can use in your team

snodgrass and firmino no match that
Liverpool will score more than hull you know that in upcoming games

That may be so but Pool points are shared between Cout / Firm / Mane / Lallana / maybe Sturridge ...

If Snod scores he will almost always get max baps for his team

u can get snodgrass Antonio firmino all three..
              or go with your gut

I wouldn't do those transfers personally

Keep seeing Lovren in teams or recommended.
Is this on actual analysis of the team or out of hope on the fixtures?
I have seen nothing that interests me in Lpool defenders at all but I have only watched all games not looked at stats.

Matip - Lovren parntnership has looked good though. Conceded 2 in 2 games but that was against Spurs and Chelsea away. Might be a good option with this price tag.

It's a gamble on fixtures for me. Pool are tightening up, defence is up in the air across the league, and at 4.9 those fixtures are great right up until Boxing Day.

On WC and have a few quick questions:

    1. Amat - run in the first team to continue long term?
    2. Jakupovic - will he continue to be numero 1 long term?
    3. Is Clyne the only nailed on 'pool defender...Lovren?
    4. Ighalo or Deeney? stats say Ighalo...but pens for Deeney.

    Thanks.

      1. Probably yes
      2. Big rotation risk because of Marshall
      3. Lovren and Matip as well IF fit (big if though)
      4. I would go Deeney

    2. Hurricane Gilbert
      • 8 Years

      1. There is no real competition so I would say yes.
      2. Most don't think so, but if he performs very well he has a good chance of nailing down the spot.
      3. No, Lovren and Matip is nailed after their impressive display lately. Clyne the best option though.
      4. Ighalo will outscore Deeney according to a HT made by a Watford fan. He made a good argument, and I trust the fans. But Deeney may still be a good pick.

Brilliant, thanks. Think i'll leave Jaku for the time being, and go with Ighalo...easier to change Ighalo to Deeney than the other way round!

My thinking on the Rashford/Deeney dilemma:

Rashford is a better short term move with the predatory form he is on, having two good home fixtures (LEI defence against the bigger teams has been woeful). Problem is United attack under Mou is weak atm. Fixtures then become really tough and it will be difficult for Rashford to continue his form, if there hasn't been a radical shift in UTD attack.

Deeney - Is a better long term move. Amazing fixtures, team is on red hot form and while he is not their best player atm he will deliver points. Some from the spot kick.

Completely random question, but had really appreciate a quick answer

I am in England, near Dec 17th, and I am getting tickets for Man City Arsenal game, from the official site for around 58 pounds, while tickets from tickethub, ticketpad are like 130 pounds. Almost similar seats.

Am I missing something obvious in T&C's?

Should I just go ahead and book it? First Premier League in the stadium 🙂

I'm following up with a Spurs match a little later, as well.

    Cheers

Tickethub etc are people reselling tickets - they're far more expensive then from team's websites. It is very hard to get tickets through the official channels if you're not a member

Well, I just got it in the east stand....

Don't wanna take a dig at Man City, but maybe they don't have that many members so they released it to the general public, I just had to sign up and buy the ticket.

And I just did it, baby 🙂

They have a crappy site btw...So broken. If it snows and its cancelled, I have no hope for a refund, looking at the way their site works. 🙂
